After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
my friend dissolved morphine tablets in hot water then injected it into her vein is this going to hurt her?
I'm not a doctor, but I am a long-time opiate user and chronic pain patient (disk problems) and I know that dosages of drugs like vicodin, oxycontin and percodan are relative. Everyone is different. You might get more relief from a small dose of hydrocodone than a theoretically more-potent dose of oxycodone (percs, oxycontin). My best guess is, forgetting tolerance for a moment, that one percodan is equivalent to 10 to 15 mg of morphine (oral).
he is now (well was when i last saw him 2 weeks ago) on 110 mg twice a day in tablet form, then taking liquid morphine (viles) in between. he has lost his job due to poor attendance at work. we had a fantastic relationship but he was sleeping most of the day, awake all night, and became irrational in his thinking and then ended our relationship. i feel useless as there is nothing i can do to help as he wants no contact. i think his dosages are very high - what do you think?
if a patient is presecribed 15 mg but is given 30 mg of morphine sulfate IR tablets, would this cause an earlier death in a liver cancer patient? My aunt was given 8 - 10 months and the pharmacy gave the wrong dosage, she died in 5 days. Should I question this?
The exact Morphine he is taking is Morphine Sulfate Extended Release 60 mg tablets. Any one know anything specific about this? What other drugs are similar to this? Anything you may know...
A friend of mine started with colon cancer, now has moved to pelvic area and bones, also in lungs. was on vicodin 750 mg for about 6 mths. was moved from taking vicodin to a morphine patch. Is this common practice? Had severe side effects from morphine patch and is now off of it. Shouldn't there be a in-between medication used first?

hi, morphine addiction is a tuff nut to crack, however it is the same as any opiate addiction it is possable to withdraw using an RDT or "rapid detox treatment" this works really well from morphine, i was on 30mg of morphine tablets twice daily for pain relief and had also had enough..i found out my local GP was doing this rapid detox from opiate drugs in his surgery it cost around 5 k and took one day only..
It has been over 5 years since he has been to hospital for this as every time he did go in the would put him on a drip, but because he has had so many his viens colape now each time they try to do it so they stick needles ever where trying to get one in, and this puts him of going back. Hi everyone. I have been taking Morphine Sulf 30 MG ER tabs off and on for about 2 months due to rheumatoid arthritis pain. I have not abused them in any way. I took a tablet 2 days ago, and things really fell apart last night. Here are the things I've been experiencing over the last 1-1/2 days: 1) Insomnia; 2) Restless legs; 3) sneezing; 4) diahrea; 5) Feel like ****; 6) Cold and hot flashes; 7) my eyes tear up; and 8) achy. Is there a way to taper off these things?
Are you taking MS-Contin (Extended Release Morphine Sulfate), Roxanol (Immeadiate Release Morphine Sulfate, highly doubtful), or Avinza tablets? 3. Did the same doctor that perscribed you the Morphine perscribed the Valium? 4. Are you quitting cold turkey, or tapering with the same or another opiate? Jezebel, something doesn't make sense in your posting.
Is liquid Morphine somehow differenty to tablet-form Morphine? I am very reluctant to take the Morphine. Even so, he is the doctor I'm only a musician : ) My second question I would be grateful fro help with is that a lady I know who sufferes severe pain from degenerative bone disease is prescribed Morphine IR and Oxycodone. She tells me this combination works well for her. Does anyone have any experience of this particular combination of Morphine IR and Oxycodone?
I have been taking morphine tablet form about 30mg a day for about a year. Also take very high doses of other weak opioids and some valium daily. I have severe chronic pain. However I haven't increased the dose of morphine by more than 5mg since I started and get side effects when I take too much. I believe I can stop when the pain stops. So am I addicted? I don't feel addicted and don't crave it, just need it when I am in pain, regularly and every day.

I have never taken morphin as a pill but when I was in the hospital, I was on very high dose of Morphin that was self-administered through the Ivy, allowing me to pump it myself every 5 minutes and I really did use it every 5 minutes except when I was sleeping.. even then, I would wake up to pump it... I was allowed to get about 250mgs per day and some days, they had to add more and some days I was just around 240-250mbs.

Everytime she had abdominal cramp/intestinal pain we took her to the hospital where they would dose her up with morphine. And she hasn't gone through 3 days of this to start all over. That's what she wants is morphine. She's is drinking water and gaterade because she's peeing snd her nails are colored. She's not dehydrated.
It actually works better than the Oxycodone that I now use however, when I was using the Morphine it made me so tired that I was willing to put up with the added pain rather than want to sleep my day away. How do you react to Morphine? Do you think it's better than other meds that you use?
