I am a 47yr old female with chronic pain. My Dr. prescribes Morphine for me for pain. However, I know I am addicted to it and, even though I have gone down some on my dosage by tapering, I am still taking 360MG per day and, can't seem to get it any lower. I am feeling a great deal of remorse over this and frustration cause I don't want to take it anymore but, now I have to or, I go into withdrawal. Should I try to find an addiction specialist in my area? If so, how do I start?

I take one a day, sometimes 2 of 80mg extended release tablets. Im a very small/thin person, and WD effects even from 2 weeks of taking these things absolutely wreck me. I'm not really sure what the best way to go about quitting is. I absolutely cant lose my job. I've been homeless before, and I just cant go back to that. Would tapering off using these be my best option?
I wanted to ask anyone if you have ever heard of leg pain associated with tablets of morphine, I woke up at night and my legs felt like they were on fire. I have decided to go off of the morphine and have 16 left and I did it before with less though it is hard. This is the third prescription I have had because they just did not have anything better to offer but the divoprolex is working well. Or epival??
