Avatar f tn When I started I was on 125mcg Fentynal patches every 72 hours and Morphine Sulphate 30mg 1x per day. 30mg was too much for me at once so I bite it in half and take it every 12 hours unless I don't need it. I also began seeing a gentle spine care chiropractor during all this and it has changed my life! I was shocked that a "doctor" would just throw medications like Fentynal at me for years without offering me ALL possible options for recovery!
740917 tn?1268247536 This a time release pill which last for 12 hrs. I have been on some kind of Morphine for 8 yrs. I was on a time release morphine capsule for several years ( name slips me now) it was excellent. One capsule every 12 hrs. Ask your Dr. about it .
Avatar n tn Although 12 hrs have passed, but still clinical examination from a doctor is mandatory to rule out any morphine overdose. Morphine overdose occurs when a person intentionally or accidentally takes too much of the medicine. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn If you google kadian it will give you drug information and included in that info is what to do in the event of an overdose and what things to look for to determine if it is indeed an overdose. Don't mess around here - and call 911 if he doesn't look right. Now is not the time to second guess the situation. Good luck to you.
Avatar m tn Aloha all, I forgot to add that I went off the morphine once before and on the third day after I started having WD's and took some more morphine, wish I would have just stayed off and would probably be OK by now.

786047 tn?1239233100 I think that advil works the best for the ones that don't go over a 6/10 pain level BUT i think that advil also causes terrible rebound headaches so I have completely stopped taking it 'cept for very rarely when I am sure that I have an inflamed muscle or something like that or for a fever. As for 9/10 10/10 pain, I think that hydromorphone works the best. It is better than morphine because it doesn't make you feel sick. I wouldn't suggest a high dose.
Avatar n tn He received 10 mg morphine in the ambulance, then 6 mg dilaudid, 4 mg zofran, and 1 mg ativan in about an hour. He weighs 190 lbs and is 6 feet tall. He suffered cardiopulmonary arrest. Could this combination of drugs have been the culprit? He received narcan and cpr and was resuscitated, thankfully. Some docs believe it was narcotic induced and others say it was a vagel down. Can you explain this?

Avatar f tn My neurosurgeon said that a person can develop tolerance with long-term use of a pump because the amount of morphine would have to increase as the pain increases, just like it does with oral pain meds. Has anyone had this experience? What did you or your doctor do? Question 2 WITHDRAWAL My same neurosurgeon said that if the pump broke releasing the morphine inside, a person would go into severe witihdrawal. Has this happened to anyone? I would think that overdose would be more likely...
Avatar f tn After that the situation has improved, the blood level of b6 decreased (first test i have 29,43 and in second 25,33 ... maximum safe level is 27.20) My permanent symptoms: balance and coordination problems, unsteady gait, spine and head movement (an easy rocking and a strange feeling from top to bottom of spine). From what I feel i think the all problem is about spine .... May be this a form of ataxia? Is here someone who has passed through this? Sorry for my english.....Thanks!
Avatar n tn I don't know abt. the patch, it seems like it would prolong the withdrawl. Possibly delay the inevitable but give some relief. Are you withdrawling voluntarily or till your next prescription ? Usually by day 5 a person starts to feel better and alot of the really bad stuff is over. I really do think the fentanly is a bad idea but I know how being addicted goes, we just want it to go away. I hope the best for you and I wish I knew more abt. your situation to give a good opinion.
Avatar f tn @ Star3789 Lmfao Not So Much The Sleepy Baby Part But The Not Knowing How Much Crosses The Placenta. I'm Paranoid About Everything So My Mind Automatically Thought Potential Overdose. I Know It's Sad I'm Extremely Dramatic And Pregnancy Hasn't Helped Lol.
Avatar f tn t blame your daughter being an addict on the fact that she got an accidental overdose of morphine when she was 2. Shes just a drug addict......most of us on this site are....recovering addicts. Have ya'll discussed her using?
Avatar f tn Suboxone is the brand name for a medication consisting of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is a thebaine derivative with powerful analgesia approximately 20-40x more potent than morphine. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist and antagonist of the opioid receptors in the central nervous system which means that when its molecule binds to a receptor, it will transduce only a partial response in contrast to a full agonist such as morphine.
614471 tn?1221179194 You are still within (although at strong pain requirements) the dosing range of morphine.....taper the morphine at 20mg per week for a couple weeks.....then do the same at 15mg .......decrease so you do not have strong abdominal cramps......dont go so fast that the w/d's become a problem.................
Avatar m tn I was miss prescribed by my Dr. a much higher synthroid dose. I was taking half of 25mcg (that's the lowest level) and my Dr changed my prescription to 125mcg (so I was taking then 67.5mcg). It got to the point I thought I was having a heart attack, would wake up every other minute at night. In a period of about 4 months my triglycerides jumped drastically, and I gained 40lbs.It seems my metabolism went cocoa puffs.
