Avatar f tn I was on morphine in the hospital for a while they took Mr off that and gave me hydrocodone and sent me home with some
Avatar f tn I would really like to know if anyone has taken morphine in pregnancy and upon giving birth if their baby had with drawls or not AND what dosage PLEASE! I have heard a few moms say they were taking Oxycontin 40mg three times a day with no baby withdrawals, but did not know if morphine was the same. I do go to a pain management place, I am in severe pain, I do not need lecturing, there are times I think about just ending it all just to stop the pain.
Avatar f tn Imaging modalities such as CTscan or MRI will help rule out pathology or secondary headaches. Morphine is usually excreted into human milk in trace amounts and adverse effects in the nursing infant are unlikely. Morphine is considered compatible with breast-feeding by the American Academy of Pediatrics. (ref: http://www.drugs.com/pregnancy/morphine.html#ixzz0vbMEgeUz). Aside from medications, another option is complementary and alternative medicine including biofeedback techniques.
Avatar n tn no, hydrocodone is vicodin. Morphine sulfate is the active ingredient in morphine. If you are worried about a possible reaction to the medication, I would speak to your local pharmacists. I'm not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website. http://www.rxlist.com/duramorph-drug.

237039 tn?1264258057 I have been given Morphine in the hospitals during my heart attacks, and most recently was given Morphine quite frequently. I was told last April, the reason they were giving me Morphine at short intervals is because it "oxygenates" the heart. As long as I had the chest pains they were administering the Morphine at 30 minute intervals. I protested the frequent use, but was told it was for that reason I was being given that much.
Avatar f tn Anyone that's already had their baby, what can you take for migraine while breast feeding? Besides Tylenol it's worthless. I've had this migraine since Thursday and I don't want to go to quick care, they'll give me a morphine shot and idk If it's safe while nursing? Any advice is appreciated I know I'm in the wrong place but nobody answers the bf forum...
Avatar f tn If anything, I was the groggy one after because of the morphine they gave in the surgery and then the benadryl I got after lol. My baby girl was fully active and awake for breastfeeding.
384896 tn?1335294331 Ask if you can take Benadryl while breastfeeding. It helped SOOO MUCH when I was itchy. I guess I'm allergic to either morphine or demerol too cause the exact same thing happened to me. Anyways, the benadryl helped me, but I wasn't breastfeeding while I was taking it, Elijah was on oxygen in the nursery the first 24 hours, and then I had to give him formula after cause he was a little jaundiced and my milk hadn't come in...
Avatar f tn my friend dissolved morphine tablets in hot water then injected it into her vein is this going to hurt her?
654183 tn?1225309036 No one puts a drug in solution and then in a needle to squirt in their mouths. They could use an eyedropper to do that. You may need to wake fully up here if you wish to save your marriage. And you have legitimate concerns for health. I have already done a years worth of experimental chemo from the Mayo Clinic because of my carelessness. It is no joke. I would be glad to chat if you wish to PM me ---- unfortunately the bottom line seems to be that he needs to want to quit for himself.
Avatar n tn too much morphine can result in death. I would advise you to call your pharmacist for information - they would be able to give you pharmaceutical information that would clarify this situation. I am sorry for you loss and the experience around it.
Avatar m tn I recently started having extreme back pain had a MRI and I could not believe how bad my back is l4 and l5 is sitting on my nerve of s1 I have been taking MS Contin 60 milligrams for 5 years now from an accident in the surgery room. I take percocet 7.5 - 325 and it does not touch my pain. I called my doctor and he suggested ibuprofen 800. I took one when I was in extreme pain level 10 and my pain was gone within an hour completely gone.
Avatar n tn s on 110mg twice a day with liquid morphine viles in between to keep him going - however, the morphine seemed to make his symptoms worse and he has turned into someone i dont even know - he wont allow me to contact him so i feel useless and obviously very hurt and worried about him.
Avatar f tn Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.
Avatar m tn i dont know anything about morphine...never taken it, but some here have. i do know the thomas recipe in the health pages to the right of this page will offer good tips and vitamins and aminos for detox. glad to see you have had enough and gonna take your life back. keep us posted..
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
784419 tn?1236261756 After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
535089 tn?1400673519 My understanding is that this study was done for the purpous of drug testing and why in some cases the drug came up negative in tests. Also I think that Morphine is a much stronger drug than Oxycodone. It is my opinion that Morphine controls pain on a much better level.....Thank's for your input. It's appreciated.
Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.
Avatar f tn They gave me morphine when I went into preterm labour on monday and it was awful. It made me really dopey and spaced out and I could still feel the contractions but obviously not as painful. The dr said next time I can ask for a half dose if I'd prefer not to be so out of it.
Avatar n tn iam on anti depressents floxetine & amytriptlijne then tramadol & 80 mg of morphine a day do you think i would be ok to get a job
Avatar f tn However, my pain became worst so I was sent to a pain management doctor who know has me on 15mg OxyContin and 15mg morphine er. I have been on fentanyl, embeda and opana, Right now I have a spacer in my right knee because the staph infection was so severe they could not put in a knee yet so I still have one more surgery to go. My problem is the morphine er is not working or lasting so I have started taking 30mg of morphine with still no relief.
Avatar f tn We treat our babies with phenobarbital for seizure control and morphine for withdrawal symptoms. The morphine is the one that we wean down every 2 to 3 days depending on baby's tolerance. They then go home on phenobarbital and their private pediatrician weans them slowly off that. I'm not sure what meds other states use. You might ask your O/B what your hospital uses. But, like I said, some babies show no withdrawal symptoms and go home just fine! I certainly hope this happens for you!
Avatar n tn The doctor ordered Morphine and Phenergan injections. The nurse injected the morphine into my left hip and the phenergan into my right hip. As soon as she pushed the needle into my right hip, I got a really intense pain in my hip that radiated down to my right knee and my kneecap felt like it was going to explode. Now, I still have pain in my right hip when I move my leg and I'm worried that she did something wrong. Should I be worried? Is it possible that she damaged a nerve? Thanks!
