Avatar m tn t give him the morphine. It could constrict his breathing. Instead, take him to a vet. He will need pain killers specially for dogs, such as Metacam, or Rimadyl or something else perhaps. He will also need his condition fully checked out.
Avatar n tn Other meds include Coumadin, Lipitor, Coreg, Aspirin, 7.5mg Morphine and 20mg Cymbalta (for post herpetic neuralgia) - currently tapering off the morphine. She still has a 20% ejection rate, the same as when the pacer was placed. It seems that the significant breathing difficulty started after the latest hospitalization (I’m guessing that the fluid replacement contributed.) Are there any other surgical options available, or even meds? Would the use of an oxygen tank help?
Avatar f tn People that have been on opiates for a long time can ingest a dose that would kill someone who has never used the drug. Then if they stop for a while, their tolerance goes down. Morphine is a terrible trip, with nausea and discomfort and constipation. Not something to desire for recreation.

Avatar m tn I was recently in the hospital for 10 days, I was in there for a kidney stone, and to manage the pain I was on a steady dose of morphine and toradol, for the ten days until I could get booked into a surgical suite. I have been out of the hospital for 6 days now, and I am attempting to return to work, but I am having a really hard time with my memory, I can not remember simple details from the weeks before this happened, and I can not seem to get my mind around simple tasks.

Avatar n tn Hello I'm a 17 year old male, I've been having breathing/swallowing problems for the past 2 months I have really thick never ending mucus, the other night I was having extreme breathing problems once I woke up, I used a rescue inhaler and all was well, they gave me 2 epi-pens for a emergency. When should I use these? As soon as I start having breathing problems? or when I stop breathing?
Avatar f tn I have been having breathing problems for a year now and have had them start 5 years ago only to disappear. I can not take a full breath and sometimes I can't sleep due to lungs feel full and I have to sleep sitting up. I had an xray and all kinds of breathing tests done and they all come out fine, I am waiting for an appt with a Pulonary Dr. for hopefully some answers. I have not smoked since I was in my early 20's and it was only socially.

Avatar m tn Sometimes, when it gets really difficult, I do 10 to 15 push ups and I find a sudden relief in breathing. I feel something melting away in my nose and I feel better for the next few minutes. I have very low immunity levels and even a small difference in climate or my daily schedule (long flights, time difference) causes such problems. Please advise.
Avatar n tn I immediately think of aspergillis, a fungus that often attacks the lungs. Have they tested for this? Even if the test is negative, if it were I, I would ask for a trial treatment anyway if the symptoms suggested the infection.
Avatar f tn About 3 weeks ago, I started having some breathing problems. I was at a computer working on a research project and it scared me that I felt I was not breathing as much as I should. It was like a "shortness" of breathe. I take adderall, so I monitored my heart and pulse on it for two days and off it for three and everything turned out normal (76bpm 72/110 avg), so I ruled that out. I then realized that I can't breathe through my nose (DUH! :).
Avatar f tn If your doctor cannot see you to check you for clots, ask that he arrange for you to be seen by a lung specialist (pulmonologist) on an urgent basis. If this is not possible, then have a family member take you to the nearest large hospital emergency room. Do not delay!

For heart problems you need to consult a cardiologist, get a 12 lead EKG, ECHO or any other tests that the cardiologist advises. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
