525732 tn?1213046071 What can I do to change medication to please my husband. HE HATES my insomnia and rapid weight loss along with my changing habits. I have extreme mood swings and can't do the things I use to do. He doesn't understand what pain I am going through and can't quite accept things. I am waiting on surgery because my insurance and my surguon cancelled my surgery 12 hours before I went to the hospital.
Avatar n tn Would test thyroid levels to see if the dose is appropriate but if the levels are fine, would need to evaluate for tumor recurrence or a gastro-intestinal cause for weight loss. The other endocrine problem that causes weight loss is adrenal insufficiency - testing cortisol may be appropriate in this setting.
Avatar m tn Personally, I can't answer that question. It sounds like a medical/legal inquiry. I can tell you that it's a small amount of methadone given 3 hours before the morphine but you don't say how much morphine or rubinol. It almost sounds like an allergic reaction. What do the doctors say? Regardless, it's a tragic loss and you have my sympathy and best wishes. I hope you have plenty of support.
Avatar f tn all the time and breaking out from the patch, He then prescribed morphine 15mg extended release 2 times a day. Anyway, I had a gastric bypass weight loss surgery in 2008 and I remembered the Doctor saying to me that extended release medication will not be effective anymore because of the intestines being cut or shortened. I can not remember why exactly but does anyone know for sure about this? I would really like to get information so I can let my PM doc. know.
Avatar m tn Hey Tuck, always good to hear from you. Yes my PCP noticed my weight loss when I saw him last week and he put me on Paxil for my anxiety and depression. We are really going through a hard time right now and a lot of stress. No income at all plus my disability, my wife having surgery is a lot to happen all in a month. I know G-d will not put on us more than we can handle but damn it is hard right now.
1751415 tn?1315069443 Hello! I wanted to thank you for the information on Morphine. I neglected to mention that it was not the hospice nurse but the nurse from the nursing home. We will mention this. I know that they use a Fentanyl (hope I'm spelling it correctly) patch and morphine by mouth. They were giving him the patch with Vicodin but I guess because his pain was increasing they switched to Morphine. We are due to have a conference this week. Again, thank you!
Avatar m tn t know much about this. Will I gain the weight back? Would the weight loss definitely be from the OT? Other symptoms I have are- I will tick what I've been tested for and given the all clear. Enlarged lymph node ✔️ Night sweats ✔️ Nausea ✔️ panic attacks ✔️ Anxiety ✔️ Paranoia ✔️ Vision loss ✔️ Memory loss ✔️ Shaking ✔️ Fevers ✔️ Slow heart beat ✔️ Irritability ✔️ Vomiting ✔️ Migraines near lymph node ✔️ Confusion ✔️ Feeling like I'm about to die ✔️ And more....
Avatar f tn I'm not real familiar with morphine, except for the few times I've had it following a surgery and it puts me into "lala land".........lol. But yes, I would say it's possible that could have something to do with your problems. Maybe once you are off that and can work up your exercise a bit more, you will have some luck. But do get checked for other medical issues as well, since a weight gain of 10 lbs in 2 weeks is certainly NOT normal.
541953 tn?1262586226 It is reallly bothersome. I am on morphine, doctor ordered and have been for the past 4 years. I am irrated and red from washing myself so much, that is the only way to get myself clean, toliet paper does nothing. any suggestions? is this a form of IBS? I am miserable and need help.
Avatar f tn I did some research and some of the top side-effects with the Morphine are Headaches and Drowsiness and dizziness and being light-headed. There are many more than that but those are the ones that were at the top. I don't know if that helped you or not BUT I hope that it did. I really think you might want to consider talking to your NP about switching your BT meds.
Avatar f tn Methadone absolutely has made me gain weight and I do days of total fasting, with no loss. I take methadone for cripling back pain. Will switching to opana allow me to lose the weight I've put on and help back pain, which the methadone was taking more and more with less relief?
Avatar f tn I am on the 100mcg patches and Oxycodone IR (Immediate Release) 15mg tablets and have not experienced any weight loss. I have actually gained weight. I believe the weight gain is from my ankle fusion surgery not the medications... just as someone mentioned above I think maybe since you found some relief or comfort that you are not as depressed and feeling better I am sure you probably eat better and don't even notice it... Good luck!
Avatar f tn In my opinion he has a personal issues with over weight patients that should be left at the clinic door. Encouraging weight loss and aiding a patient to achieve a healthy weight is one thing but denying needed pain medications for those reasons is totally unethical from my perspective. I encourage you to hold your head high and be assertive in your search for a new PMP or PCP. Again enlist the aid of your former PCP. Others willl post with their suggestions and information.
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar m tn She had a t/v scan and the baby was doing good and heart was healthy. The hcg levels were great. Then she was in bad pain. They gave morphine and then she was sent home. But she ended up losing him at home. We went back to confirm an empty uterus. A complete miscarriage was documented and the doctors were shocked. Was this due to the morphine? She weighs 112 lbs the injection was pushed through an iv line. Did the baby die from withdrawal symptoms?
Avatar f tn Also my doctor put me on a great prenatal vitamin that helped with my hair loss and I started to have new growth. Soak with your doctor and see what he recommends. Could be a simple imbalance due to stress in itself or the cancer side effects.
1440512 tn?1294471633 Eight months ago I started losing weight without dieting. I started off overweight at 300lbs. Next came the horrible migraines, naseau, intolerant to food smells, running to the bathroom and curled over in pain, then i would go 4 days not even feeling like I had to go, the 5th day I would be in the bathroom all day curled over in pain, next was blood in stools, fatigue all along. I am now at 150lbs and continue to lose.
Avatar n tn The thickening of the gall bladder may not even be the primary problem in this case, as a condition that would produce weight loss, sleep loss, aches and pains, may also be causing stress on the gall bladder. Discuss your concerns with your doctor, a second opinion may also be helpful.
Avatar f tn I would say that if you are NOT looking to lose weight, then stay away from the tramadol because it will make you lose weight and very quickly. It should of been prescribed as a weight loss pill, as it helps to lose weight more so than any weight loss remedy that I see out in the markets.

Avatar f tn The doctors was saying he had dementia. We took him home and it took about 3 days for the affects of the morphine to wear off. And for about two years he didn't hallucinate, he just had short term memory loss. Then four weeks ago he fell. He broke his shoulder blade and a rib at home. We took him to the hospital and they gave him morphine and the hallucinations were back. I swore that the morphine was making him hallucinate but the doctors said it was dementia.
