Avatar m tn Tough one on this because if you know the history of the Civil War then while slavery was an issue it was not the main issue why the Civil War happened. Today many people use that flag as pride for the south. Just has you will see people use the irish flag or puerto rican flag to show pride. Would be nice to know what these kids were thinking/why they had the flag. Was it to incite something racial?
Avatar f tn The established republicans let this group in, in their quest for power and now it has boomeranged on them and the rest of us... They (established ones like Jon McCain), owe it to us to straighten out this mess, not only for themselves but for all of us. In the interim its important not to give the extremists any more of a foothold than they already have..

Avatar m tn I have had this conversation before with Mike, about the Civil War and we totally disagree. The Civil War was far more complex than to say it was only about Slavery. As far as my thoughts about The Flag, it should be allowed to be flown on any State grounds as long as the American Flag is above it. My vest has one on it, on the other side of the vest; slightly higher is The American Flag. Barb, you can delete my other post. It was one I should have waited to send.
1747881 tn?1546175878 t forget, there are those who are of the belief that soldiers who fought for the south during the Civil War don't deserve to be honored, because, supposedly, the only thing they were fighting for was slavery, which was not a "just cause" and all traces of the war should be wiped out instead of it being a lesson that should never be repeated...

1530342 tn?1405016490 We already have a stand off with russia over us entering the game. When does it cease to become about syria and their civil war and more about two super powers facing off with Iran in the middle which I belive are allys with Russia (correct me if Im wrong). I know very little about the working of all of this but my gut says hell no, leave it alone or provide humanitarian aid like we have been doing.
1494170 tn?1361750860 It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States," Holder wrote. Paul elaborated on his concern Wednesday: "When I asked the president, 'Can you kill an American on American soil,' it should have been an easy answer. It’s an easy question.
Avatar m tn If Obama is re-elected and there is no civil war, this judge needs to be tarred and feathered, flogged, drawn and quartered.... all at the same time.

Avatar m tn Military physicians were barely able to discharge the most severe cases of psychological breakdown during the first few years of the American Civil War. Sadly, most afflicted troops were corralled into train cars with the names of their home towns or states pinned to their clothing. Others were left to wander the countryside until they succumbed to exposure.
148588 tn?1465778809 More than once during our interview, he pointed out that each of the three preceding crises had involved a great war, and those conflicts had increased in scope from the American Revolution through the Civil War to the Second World War. He expected a new and even bigger war as part of the current crisis, and he did not seem at all fazed by the prospect. I did not agree, and said so.
535822 tn?1443976780 They had actually thought of a firing squad at first but the trials were conducted not for the benefit of the emenies but to show that the war had been just and America had been in the right the whole time.
Avatar n tn the metabolites from the two are similar. If you trust your son and he hasn't had any weird mood/life style changes then perhaps you should believe him. How old is he? why did he have a UA? why didn't he tell them that he had been on vicodin for the broken leg? how long ago did he take the last vicoden. If it was 3 weeks ago and he still has metabolites in his system then something is off..... does he eat poppy seed muffins? Google your questions on the internet.
1301089 tn?1290666571 Voting rights violations should be investigated thoroughly and if warranted, prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I don't care what race or political ideology is involved. This one smells. In light of the Justice department's decision, I would think that the KKK fully robed and hooded will be allowed to "provide security" for polling places across the nation. Or better still, the Aryan Brotherhood. This could set a very bad precedent.
163305 tn?1333668571 In an unprecedented protest against the routine offenses against due process and bodily integrity carried out in the name of the “war on drugs,” the union representing Pittsburgh police officers has condemned workplace drug and alcohol testing as a violation of the Constitution. Their zeal for the right to privacy only applies to themselves, however, not to the public they supposedly serve.

The tension between pro- and anti-Klan delegates produced an intense and sometimes violent showdown between convention attendees from the states of Colorado and Missouri.[citation needed] Klan delegates opposed the nomination of New York Governor Al Smith because Smith was a Roman Catholic.
Avatar m tn I agree. I have accepted I have Chronic Pain - but I haven't a won't accept that I have Chronic Pain Syndrome. In my humble opinion are pushing this term and using the DX more since they began what they call the "War on Drugs" - which has become much more like the "War on Chronic Pain Patient." Maybe I'm over sensitive. I believe there are reasons for continued pain.
Avatar m tn ve lost WAY too many lives, and WAY too much money....Both the President and Vice President were Adamant that we would be out in 2014....Disappointing...
1301089 tn?1290666571 Much of what is occurring now is an extension of the cold war where the United States and the then Soviet Union used third world countries as political pawns. Before the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (which we fought by supporting the Mujahadeen, who were not really our allies but fanatics) Afghanistan was a democracy and women had full civil rights and those were just opposition groups that did not have power.
