1407445 tn?1281318016 I think Shelli pretty much summed it all up in her answer and better I think, than I could have. lol I also take Klonopin and have muscle relaxers and I took them both. That helped tremendously with the restlessness, (mine was my whole body, not just my legs). I have a small child so bed wasn't an option for me but that is exactly where I would have been if I could have.
1718998 tn?1309129406 I have been taking morphine abg 100 mgs twice a day for 2 years nows and im prescribed klonopin 2 mg 3x daily to = 6 mgs a day. it helps when i dont take all the morphine my body is used to, an i really hope it helps next week when i quit. i have some hydro 7.5s i have 6 of them to help with withdrawls, will they help?
Avatar m tn I have had spinal fusion on L5/S1 in 2002, then a Morphine Pump in 2004. I have been taking oral Soma, Hydrocodone, and Xanax for years. I was able to taper totally off of the Hydro and Soma (it was HELL), but the Xanax was impossible for me to discontinue. I never used what I was prescribed (3 @ 1mg day) but I couldn't quit taking it totally. I had to take 1/2 of one pill a day just to survive the panic attacks.
Avatar n tn I use drugdigest.com for such things. I checked for you and alcohol had 2 well-documented interactions. Worth checking out - and also the pharmacist will usually question the doctors if something like that comes up. (Experience talking here). Before taking any new medication, it is so important to check interactions with other meds, food and alcohol (which can be found in cough syrups!
Avatar m tn After I tapered and stopped, I went into withdrawals, my thyroid enlarged. I stopped taking Klonopin April 07, I have been constently tired, and it continued to get worse, and worse, to the point now, I'm exhausted constently on a daily basis. I'm still struggling, it's been 19 months. All my thyroid blood test returns normal, for the past year. I am not diabetic. My blood test have been normal the past 2 years.
Avatar f tn I was afraid to take Valium with the Morphine and went 3 days without taking any Valium and I got severe out of the blue panic attacks and I felt like I was going to die on several occassions when driving home from work. The half-life of Klonopin is comparable to Valium (48 to 58 hours) so you won't feel the withdrawals right away. I take 3 mg of Valium a day. I tapered from 5 mg prior to starting Morphine. I am glad you are experiencing a lot less pain.
Avatar n tn Just wondering, what are the effects of Suboxone, Seroquel and Klonopin? He is on 12 mg of suboxone daily, and is prescribed 2 mg of Klonopin but he is abusing that already and taking about 20 mg of the klonopin. I am not overly worried, just because he was taking about 350 mg of valium a day before going on the sub a month ago, but of course there is some concern. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
433714 tn?1204147485 For the last 5 years I have been depending on at least 200mg of Oxys or Morphine (Ms-cotin) per day. I have tried at least 20 times to quit but the physical and mental withdrawal is the most excruciating feeling I have ever experienced. Why would you allow youself to suffer horribly for 10-21 days when you can just go out and buy a little pill to make it better? I found out recently that it doesnt have to be as painful as most treatment/detox centers make it.
Avatar n tn I could not tolerate the side effects of these drugs. My last attack I tried Klonopin 0.5 mg (1/2 in the morning and 1/2 bedtime) This drug did the trick for me. No side effects and pain disappeared after 2 weeks. I continue to take the Klonopin for another 2 months than weaned my self slowly (2 weeks) of KLonopin to avoid withdraw symptoms. Thank God, I'm pain free and drug free for over 2 months now.
Avatar n tn Are you sure he's taking clonidine and not Klonopin? The reason I ask is twofold...first, Clonidine's normal dose is .1-.2 mg. Yes, that's a TENTH of a mg. 4mg would surely kill him. Secondly, clonidne does have some sedative effects, but Klonopin (a benzo) is much more likely to be given for those symptoms. Plus, the dosages are right on with normal dosages of Klonopin due to anxiety and panic attacks.
787079 tn?1285461767 I recently stopped cold turkey on the generic form of this medication, I had severe reaction to the drug enough for conventional medicine to intervene, they have me on suboxone 8mg then 2mg in a combination pill form, (orange) I was wondering if you could tell me, when these episodes will stop, I really want to avoid going back on any narcotics at this point because I also withdrew from morphine, and percocet.
Avatar n tn Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others. 2. Imodium (over the counter, any drug or grocery store). 3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps) from the health food store. 4.
1302779 tn?1287405029 Klonopin lasts longer and with it being prescribed 2 times a day, it will control your anxiety all day and night. I take the 1mg Klonopin in the morning and two at night. I am also on Lexapro, and this combination has worked very well for me. I hope this helped and take care!
Avatar n tn I have been taking .5mg of klonopin daily for 6 months with no drinking and i was curious... would it be safe to have one beer every now and then? I am afraid of dying... but I miss having an occasional drink. I am only 21 and I don't weigh much (140lb), but I do miss having a beer every now and then to relax. I take my klonopin everyday at 2PM btw. When would be the ideal time to drink the beer if it were safe? I usually prefer one at 9-11amish or 9-11pm ish.

Avatar f tn In case you are curious, it takes us about three to four days to get a patient off of any opiate including Morphine, and feeling well. We withdraw you from all opiate under sedation and initiate long-term naltrexone therapy ti ensure protection from cravings.
Avatar f tn I would definitely give the 20mg at least 4-6 weeks, and take the Klonopin as prescribed and see how you do before upping the Celexa. If you haven't been working with a psych doc then I would switch to one. I would also ask your doctor "why" he wants you to up the dosage so quickly before giving it time to work. Celaxa is an excellent drug, but what works for one, may not another.
Avatar n tn Are you prescribed the sub? If so, tell your doctor you want off? They are the best at giving you the advice you need. I agree w/girlybuff on the klonopin- wait on this one till you are off the sub. And she's right, you shouldn't be taking both together. Unless it's Clonidine? which is for blood pressure.
541465 tn?1219427886 HI, I normally take 120 mgs of methadone daily ( been clean off opiates or over 6 months now), take 2mgs of Klonopins daily, and 50 to 100mgs of phenergan (promethazine or promethazine hyrochloride, ) , AND 0.2 mgs of Chlonodine a day,. . . . .AND, 200mgs oF seroquel ( but only used for sleep. Im prescribed all the meds so this pill i found which i knew was a Tramadol/Ultram 50 mgs. Is that safe? The only interaction that i am worried about is the methadone.
Avatar f tn To answer one of your questions, yes, tolerance occurs to all opiate pain medications-- at least for now. The compounded med you are taking is an interesting attempt to reduce tolerance; in animals, dextromethorphan reduces opiate tolerance through binding to receptors called 'NMDA receptors', or 'glutamate receptors'. This action has not been demonstrated in humans, but that has not stopped compounding pharmacies from adding DM to opiates.
Avatar f tn I take these two meds, why?
Avatar f tn Also, I was given a script of Klonopin, to take the edge off and help me sleep for those wonderful 1-2 intervals. Is it ok to take it, or will it just make things worse as well. I was also told "Soma" can help, though ambien does nadda to me How I feel: -RLS almost gone, more of a nuisance (I was at the point of pounding my legs the first couple of night -Insomina...
Avatar f tn m going to have to go into rehab to get off of it safely but I was wondering if anyone else has had such severe withdrawals with xanax and if anyone continued to take it while they were pregnant? Also do you think it would be better for me to switch from the xanax XR to a mix of klonopin and valium? Would that help me taper off the xanax faster and safer? I have read that some people have taken that combination and it worked for them. I just don't want to switch meds and go into withdrawals.
Avatar n tn I was splitting my pills in fourths and taking it thruout the day,a couple weeks ago i started taking it whole and since then i feel all druggged out and worse depressed..would this cause it..going from a fourth thruout the day to a hole one at one time?
