Avatar f tn Yesterday we could not get a blood pressure reading on left arm or wrist using 2 different monitors. Hospice nurse felt very weak pulse in foot as well. Any suggestions as to what this might be? Blood clot, stroke, no circulation to left side? Also, left arm is tingling and cannot use arm to lift herself from chair.
2095551 tn?1333122531 I am also on Norvasc, 5 mg per day. I also take atenolol which is a beta blocker. I haven't noticed too much swelling (except in my hands at times) on the 5 mg of Norvasc and I tried 10 mg awhile back but it didn't reduce my blood pressure by much and I was worried about the increased swelling. However, adding 25 mg of atenolol significantly lowered my blood pressure into the normal range 95% of the time.
Avatar f tn I have multiple bone fractures from race injuries and without morphine, Im in intolerable pain with extremely high blood pressure. when on the med, I have moderate pain and great blood pressure. I just want to know any experiences of women who have had a baby while on the morphine. I want to know good or bad. birth defects or none and withdrawal or not. .
237039 tn?1264258057 The danger or risk associated with a heart attack may be the result of decreased blood pressure and a slow down in the heart rate and that could add negative factors to an already stressed heart under some circumstances. It seems it is not considered a risk for serious side effects when vitals are monitored in hospital setting.
709686 tn?1277432159 s possible, but the real indication would be your blood pressure and cardiac activity. They can tell by those tests if you're in withdrawals. If they get worse the further away from your dose of Lortabs, and ease up when you take one, then that would be another sign pointing to withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Hello, My sister is in the hospital and has been for 3 days. SHe went in with blood pressure of 212/139. SHe had severe headache. They have been doing nothing but giving her morphine for the pain and knocking her out. No tests other than normal bloodwork (cbc) her BP drops slightly when the morphine hits but then comes right back up within a matter of minutes. WE are worried that it could be caused be a neurological issue. Has anyone ever had these sysptoms or have any advice?
Avatar n tn I also take morphine 15 mg four times a day. I am shaking and my abdomen is killing me right now. My blood pressure is very high right now should I go to the hospital?
Avatar m tn t know about blood pressure. Legs had been alright today. I still do not have any energy and feel really bad.
Avatar n tn 2 hours after the morphine i was in a hell of a state - i was in pain everywhere from the top of my head to the soles of my feet (i could not even have my blood pressure taken as i screamed when they tried to put the cuff on) it turns out it was caused by the increas in billary pressure, caused by the morphine, in an already painfull area and as pain relief effects of the drug wore off the increased pressure took longer to reduce and the pain was worse than if the morphine had not been given.
Avatar f tn After he died, my blood pressure stayed as high, and i fought taking blood pressure medicine for yrs, until it reached 190/100 or so on a routine dr. visit. I still thought it could be from constant pain, but gave in the next month when it stayed pretty high. Have been on blood pressure meds for about 3= yrs. Have heart disease in the family, my dad very early, he has since died.
Avatar n tn all took requip for restless legs Valium for anxiety and clonidine for blood pressure and morphine for pain 30mg god help all of us and god touch our minds
Avatar n tn In allergy, there is a release of substance histamine, which dilates the vessels, and hence cause the drop of blood pressure. This causes diminished blood supply to the heart, and from here the heart pain. Well, this is my theory. Allergy may be confirmed with a skin test, but he should know, what exact type fish it was.
Avatar n tn I am not sure what the circumstances are that surround your situation, but I do know that strokes are caused by a blood clot or a brain bleed. My mom just had 2 strokes and they actually gave her a morphine pump for her head because it hurt so bad. I do not think they would have done that if there was a chance it would cause more strokes. Keep doing your research though, I guess you never know!
Avatar n tn ) He gave me Clonidine, which works for most people to help with the jitters, restless legs and creepy crawlies, but it brought my blood pressure down too low. So, I took a half dose to help my wds without bringing down my b/p too much. My doctor wants me to STAY on my Darvocet...three times a day and my Clonazepam at bedtime. He didn't take me off either of those during my Fentanyl detox. I have been off of Fentanyl 7 days 14 1/2 hours! The wds are gone...
Avatar f tn t felt anything I called labor and delivery and one of the doctors from my obgyn practice was there and he said to come right in. I was there for 4 hours and had blood drawn, a urine sample done and a non stress test done. Everything looked good except my blood pressure and my swelling was worse, but my son was fine. I was given a shot of morphine for my migraine and an hour after that they sent me home and told me to take a vicodin when I got home then one every 4 hours.
Avatar f tn t familiar with my conditions at all! Oh, and to top off all the stress? The morphine given to me bottomed out my blood pressure and I was within minutes of coding before they gave me Narcan to reverse the Morphine!
Avatar n tn t have this and the only way they could control the headache was with intravenous morphine. My fever went and the stiffness and join pain went but my headache came back and I still have it. They say I need to see a neurologist but there isn't one that I can get to see any sooner than March 19th.
Avatar n tn Other meds include Coumadin, Lipitor, Coreg, Aspirin, 7.5mg Morphine and 20mg Cymbalta (for post herpetic neuralgia) - currently tapering off the morphine. She still has a 20% ejection rate, the same as when the pacer was placed. It seems that the significant breathing difficulty started after the latest hospitalization (I’m guessing that the fluid replacement contributed.) Are there any other surgical options available, or even meds? Would the use of an oxygen tank help?
Avatar m tn i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn But later in my pregnancy I started getting consistent head aches again and my body felt weird so I went to the e.r and my blood pressure was 183/73. When they administered morphine it went down to 121/53 so I wouldn't ignore it if it makes your body feel weird.
417564 tn?1287982827 From what Steven was told, the lady who has it is 45yrs.old with low blood pressure....why she said only 1 per night, I think normally the dose os higher....correct? I will make a call to the dr.and check out what is said. The sweats/chills are very bothersome as many of you know...this lady was given this coming off alot of morphine. Apparently it will get rid of that.....
Avatar f tn I too am on oxycodone for breakthrough pain. My blood pressure tends to run low and seems to be lower on these meds. how low is your blood pressure? Do you feel faint, light headed, or dizzy? If so look at any other herbs or vitamins you are taking, they will also interact with these meds. Does your blood work show your potassium levels are ok? It is possible that the blood pressure is a reaction to the change in meds. All questions for you and your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have bad headaches everyday...pressure and throbbing on my scar and also its causing my right ear to leak of feel moist...and I have problems remembering things said to me literaly 5 seconds before. I'm 23 I dont want things to get worse any suggestions..
Avatar n tn Morphine is then further metabolized to morphine-3-glucuronide and morphine-6-glucuronide before excretion (primarily via the kidneys). However, prior to its metabolism to morphine and subsequent glucuronidation, heroin is rapidly metabolized to 6-MAM. Because 6-MAM is the first product of heroin metabolism, no other compound produces this metabolite, and its presence is unequivocal confirmation of heroin usage.
Avatar f tn I've been tapering down my medications (and made some great progress.) So far got off the Fentanyl 75 mcg., oxycodone 40 to 60 mg. every four hours. I had some pretty moderate withdrawals going off the Fentanyl and oxycodone. Nothing like cold turkey, but difficult nonetheless. I was switched over to morphine ER 30 mg. in the morning and 30 mg. at night. I already dropped to 15 mg. at night. I'm also supposed to take 15 mg.
