Avatar m tn //www.drugsupdate.com/brand/generic/Cetirizine%20Hydrochloride/21238) but since I felt no change after 3 weeks, I decided to see what dropping it for a week would do. 3. A month ago, I had a particularly bad attack from inhaling some smoke and due to my final exams coming up I panicked and ate about 15 nos. of Vit C supplement chewable tablets (these: http://www.mims.
Avatar f tn I was asked to take Ranitidine (Zantac) and Esomeprazole (Nexum) in case it was a case of GERD; I was even prescribed Montelukast Sodium (Myteka) in case it was an allergy that was causing the choking. I've used nasal drops because one doctor also suggested it could have been caused by Sinusitis. None of the above helped. I have been taking Pregabalin (Lyrica) and found that it helped decrease the extremity of the pain in my chest but the choking still remains. Could this be cancer?

Avatar f tn Two that would not affect your heart rate would be an inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate) or another medicine taken by mouth Singulair® (montelukast sodium). You should ask your doctor about these. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I recently worked with an epoxy that I had thought was an MSDS Health rating 2, which means: "Intense or continued exposure could cause temporary incapacitation or possible residual injury unless prompt medical attention is given." The warnings on the package suggest to avoid eye/skin contact, avoid breathing vapors and to work in "adequate ventilation" (note that no one ever explains what this means).
Avatar n tn The 2 classes are 1) inhaled steroids and 2) orally administered medicines that block biochemical asthma pathways involved in asthma worsening, an example of which is Singulair® (montelukast sodium). A third group of asthma medicines commonly used are, medicines similar to Xopenex® Inhalation Solution (levalbuterol) but long acting for 8 to 12 hours. These medicines might or might not result in hyperactivity and should be the last to be considered, especially for a young child. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I have seen an ENT specialist at Max Hospitals Delhi, and he has prescribed Montelukast Sodium and Levocetirizine hydrochloride tablets for allergy...could allergy make some people choke on food?
Avatar m tn I went to a doc who said it was probably asthma and prescribed formoterol/budesonide and montelukast sodium. A few months later, my bedroom was treated for termite infestation, the fumes of which I presumed cleared up after about 4 days. After returning to my bedroom for a few nights, I woke up in a panic with severe SOB.
212161 tn?1599427282 You could also ask your doctor if the use of other asthma/bronchitis medicines such as inhaled steroids and Singulair® (montelukast sodium) might be helpful, along with a cough suppressant. These medicines do not cause palpitation. Another possibility is that you may have whooping cough and, with that, a person may cough for 6 months or more. It is no longer uncommon for an adult to have whooping cough. You might want to ask your doctor about that.
Avatar n tn I took Montelukast (Singulair) for about one month and began having extreme nightmares and panic attacks. I stopped the montelukast immediately, and the nightmares stopped. But the panic attacks continue. I know others have had similar reactions, but I wonder if anyone has found out how to make the effects go away? I have been off the medication for over 3 months now.

Avatar n tn thanks for the info. Just so you know, I'm taking 'Singulair' (10mg of montelukast sodium daily) for allergies. For preventative purposes, my doctor prescribed me to take a puff of a 'Diskus' inhaler a day (50 mcg salmeterol, 250 mcg fluticasone). Also I take 500 mg Vitamin C supplements every morning. Those are the only meds I take routinely.
Avatar m tn Hi I am not a doctor but I would think that there would be an MSDS sheet that would explain the dangers. You already know that everything you we eat breathe and put on the body has to be processed by the liver. I will try to find something. and come back.
