Avatar n tn Thank you very much for taking time and effort in answering my query. It enlightens me now why montelukast should be taken in a longer term. However, another worry crops up in me and this is with regard to side effects. Considering that this chewable table is prescribed in a longer term, will this not give a negative effect to any organ of the body especially the kidney?
Avatar m tn My throat is tickly and occasionally I cough up yellow phlegm, but the symptoms are bearable and it is just the cough and a mild sore throat - no fever, chest pain etc. The doctor here in Tokyo took a look in my mouth and ruled out what that test indicates (viral infection?).
Avatar n tn I took Montelukast (Singulair) for about one month and began having extreme nightmares and panic attacks. I stopped the montelukast immediately, and the nightmares stopped. But the panic attacks continue. I know others have had similar reactions, but I wonder if anyone has found out how to make the effects go away? I have been off the medication for over 3 months now.

Avatar f tn Only thing that works is Montair LC (montelukast) once in 24 hours. It stops my cough, breathlessness. I am not able to stop this medication and have been taking this for almost 3 months now. I have no other symptoms. I am not able to identify my allergy trigger since I cough through out the day, always, every where, though dust, artificial smells aggravate cough. Breathlessness and tightness in chest scare me. Should I check Asthma or COPD or anything else. Pl. advise.
Avatar m tn For absolute eosinophil count, a count of more than 500 eosinophils per microliter of blood is generally considered eosinophilia in adults. Did allergy test I'm allergic to two different kind of dust mites, cats dogs and pineapple. I don't have cats I've had a little dog all my life, I rarely eat pineapple so that leaves dust mites so I'm going to start shots. But it's crazy because it came out of no where.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, methotrexate is quite an effective drug used in cases of rheumatoid arthritis. The detailed drug interaction with montelukast is not been reported or extensively studied. We take it as no harmful effects reported yet. Yes you can take combination but after consultation from your doctor.
Avatar m tn I know plenty about Zoloft, but I have never heard of the other two meds you mentioned. What I do know is that in some people (myself included) when the persons depression is of a severe level that it can be hard to find meds that work. I couldn't even list all the dozens of different meds I have been on in the past 18 years. More than I care to count. It is very seldom now that my Psychiatrist and I even find a combination of meds that even works.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with lupus in 1997, which has since been in remission. I have always had extreme sensitivity to dust, smoke, smog, strong smells etc., etc, wherein particles seemed to get into my throat and mucus builds up in throat and I cough for I seem to be about to choke. Recently, I ingested a piece of plastic and subsequently, bronchoscopy was done, and findings were normal, the plastic wasn't in my lungs.

Avatar f tn The doctor said I would be fine because I still had enough blood oxygen and prescribed me an emergency inhaler, conditional inhaler, and montelukast to take in tandem with my allergy pill to make sure this wont continue and it doesn't happen again. Well it's one day after I began my meds and I still can't breathe fully and I'm still in pain in my upper chest and throat. Should I trust the doc or should I go to the hospital?
