Avatar f tn Lymphocytic bronchiolitis is a lung infection (inflammation of the bronchioles-the airways that extend beyond the bronchi and end in the alveoli) that affects the more distal airways; it is a viral inflammatory process. Most people are diagnosed with this in childhood but has been seen in older people as well. In the adult clinic, conventional and high-resolution radiology and respiratory functional studies are suggestive of the diagnosis but the etiology usually requires tissue.

1840402 tn?1355432565 His symptoms could be due to Bronchiolitis, which is a common lung infection, often caused by a virus. Bronchiolitis can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. On initiating therapy with this, the cough symptoms are likely to increase in an effort to bring out the secretions. Repeated steam inhalations can help loosen up and bring out the secretions, though this should be done prior to meals.

Avatar m tn I have been to several ENT specialsits but all of them prescribe me nasal sprays and a montelukast tablet at night which really doesnt help. Symptoms: 1. Constant thick white jelly mucus feeling like its coming from the back of my nose. 2. Balance issues : kind of like swaying motion. 3. always drained out and feel like sitting down all the time 4. No mucus present in my nose ever. Its like my nose is constantly dry. If anyone knows solutions to this problem. i would really appreciate it.
Avatar n tn The symptoms could be due to Bronchiolitis, which can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. They may cause dilatation of the airways, relieve bronchospasm and hence may be causing cough. This is important as it helps to bring out the secretions thus clearing the obstruction and the infection. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, methotrexate is quite an effective drug used in cases of rheumatoid arthritis. The detailed drug interaction with montelukast is not been reported or extensively studied. We take it as no harmful effects reported yet. Yes you can take combination but after consultation from your doctor.
Avatar n tn In some instances with bronchiolitis, especially bronchiolitis obliterans, hyperinflation has, at least initially, been the only x-ray finding. It is highly likely that you will need a high resolution CT scan of the lungs. You should also call National Jewish Health and urge the scheduling staff to give you a re-visit appointment much sooner than October in an attempt to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate therapy.
