15695260 tn?1549593113 Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar m tn i think my experience is alittle different than everyone elses. i have been on monopril for many years for high BP- and was OK to take the hep c Tx. however while on Tx my BP rose again, and they added tiazac as well. BP is now maintaining well, and 42 weeks into 48 everyy things looks as if it is working well.
Avatar n tn Have your husband evaluated by his surgeon. He may have some inflammation of his laryngeal nerve following the operation. In most cases, this usually resolves with time.
Avatar n tn Have you heard of alternate uses for Armidex? I have endometriosis stage 4, I had 2 surgeries in 2006, and my surgeon is putting me on Armidex to try to control the pain. Is this a common use for this medicine?
Avatar m tn I'm a 39 year old male. This question might only hit a small minority around here but I wanted to throw it out. In 2000 I never had any heart issues but got the flu that summer. A severe strain attacked my heart and almost killed me. Viral myocarditis. I miraculously recovered fully with the exception of some A-fib because of it. The A-fib only presented once every year and a half to 2 1/2 years. I was taking Zebeta and Monopril.

Avatar m tn ve been prone to overreact to symptoms since I had a fluke viral cardiomyopothy in 2000. I recovered but still take monopril and zebeta. I always seem to think if that is possible, then other things can be too. I'm not sure when this started but every once in awhile I'll get the sinus clearing feeling in my nose and it smells almost like a talc or powder smell mixed with ammonia. I will get it after working out on the treadmill or sometimes just doing simple things around the house.
739294 tn?1235689667 Beta blockers do have the side effects you mention when I uses them, as I do. Metoprolol taken at dosage over 100 mg a day can give me a real downer. Not sure from what you said about your condition that it is a "show stopper" in your work, but it may be for a triathlon in August. Wow, you've got my vote, let us know how it goes.
Avatar m tn Husband has COPD & uses oxygen 24/7. He has an oxygen concentrator & also uses a CPAP. Recently on just the oxygen his readings are in the low 70's & he can hardly do anything without being extremely out of breath. If he uses the oxygen with the CPAP his readings go into the low 90's. trying to understand why the big difference.
Avatar m tn most do still do not use that range. The reference range the lab uses really has nothing to do with the test result. The result is the amount of TSH in your blood, the reference range is simply the range THAT lab uses to determine if your result is "normal" or not. Reference ranges are usually determined by the method the lab uses to analyze a certain parameter - in this case TSH,.
Avatar n tn Which position do you play? Are you someone who uses speed and quickness or someone who uses strength, or a goalie who uses agility and girth? And how old are you? If you're young, you don't want to do anything too rash. Basically, and this is very basic, for strength, you generally need protein, for energy and endurance you need complex carbohydrates, and for antioxidant protection you need electrolytes and lots of colored vegetables.
Avatar n tn I second the recommendation to read "Safe Uses of Cortisol" by William Jeffries if you have any issues with fatigue and adrenal insufficiency. Reading that brought me so much relief and joy and I am about to start using physiological doses of cortisol. I'll keep you posted on how I go.
