Avatar f tn No you shouldn't be worried. Nst monitoring is made track your contractions as well as babies heart rate and activity. It is completely safe.
Avatar f tn I did it once a week with my last pregnancy to monitor contractions. She also had me do kick counts while I was there. For me it started because I ended up sick in hospital and was having contractions, which they stopped, but had to be monitored after that.
Avatar f tn I drink about 2 gallons of fluids per day a cup or 2 of milk and 1 std glass of juice so there is no issue of dehydration on me. For fetal monitoring they picked up strong contractions and were shocked that I was notfeeling them at all and thought I might have been dehydrated but told them I was a water guzzled and had a 2 pints of water I was constantly drinking and carrying around. I was detained for 2 hrs being monitored then they went down.
Avatar f tn My daughter went for her drs appt yesterday (she is 37w1d) and since she had high blood pressure, they wanted to do some fetal monitoring in the office. She was having contractions the whole time they were monitoring her (about 1/2 hour). Now for the stupid question - - - - do both Braxton Hicks contractions and "real" contractions register on the monitor?

Avatar f tn s heartbeat and the other to monitor possible contractions. You lay back in the recliner and the machine is beside you while you listen to your baby's heart for a certain amount of time. Some nurses may have you press a button for every time you feel your baby move.
Avatar f tn My baby boy was scheduled to be induced on 6/15, original due date 6/20. I went for routine fetal monitoring yesterday morning after all night of contractions. Constractions didn't show on monitor sent me to L&D triage to further monitor, blood pressure was high despite I took my pill earlier that morning. While in triage they were to run test to see if need to induce earlier, baby wasn't as engaged as they would've liked.
Avatar n tn After antibiotic i still have contractions and they even put me on sedation to control my contractions. I am on close monitoring in a special unit hooked in fetal monitor. I wanna go home but they said they need to control contractions before they send me home. Its been a week and I feel more depressed in the hospital.
2074425 tn?1339178443 I have notice that my discharge has increased as well.
Avatar n tn t thank God, but they kept me over night for observation because as they were monitoring me they were picking up contractions on the monitor about every 20 minutes, they hooked me up to iv to see if maybe i was dehydrated and if it would so the contractions, doctor even said they were not bh contractions, after a bad of iv fluid and still having contractions they gave me a shot to Terry and so them, the shot didn't fully stop them just slowed them a lot, i was sent home Tuesday morning as th

Avatar f tn Has anyone else experienced this and have any tips to help? Would monitoring via a doppler and midwife checks on a more regular basis be just as good? I do not want to put bubs at harm but from what I have read continual monitoring equals more painful labor and increased chance of c sections.
Avatar f tn He ordered an echo and stress test which I am having done tomorrow and also a 2 week monitor from cardionet, which I just put on tonight. My question is this- how likely is it that this is stress related and what do I need to know about the monitor? are they going to call me every time something funny pops up on their end because I think it's going to scare the **** out of me if they call me all the time to tell me that my heart is acting funny.
Avatar f tn My contractions on the monitor go up to about 80 they aren't really painful. Honestly just feel like braxton Hicks. Will they go higher once labor really starts?
Avatar m tn Cant pay for it right now. So still on. Keeps making noise like monitoring. I served my time but will stay on till i pay. Is it reading?
5981907 tn?1383748869 I have nst's twice a week. They just hook you up to monitor contractions and baby's heart rate. Usually good results. If baby is happy doctor is happy lol. They take me in for an ultrasound after 15 minutes on the nst. But that may be different there. But good luck!
Avatar f tn s nothing but artifact. If there was something serious that it was picking up on the monitoring center would call or your dr would.
Avatar n tn Wearing a heart monitor now. Burping excessively and wondering if that will effect results. My doctor's office said no but I am still worried.
4762249 tn?1358856234 One of my big triggers is the barometric pressure. Is there an accurate website wich I can monitor pressure changes on a daily basis? I may then be able to avert some of the unnecessary pain I have to go through! They have gotten so bad, I am on Topomax daily. If I could maybe monitor my surroundings more closely, maybe I could get to the point of eliminating the medication. Thank you for your help!
7291171 tn?1393336748 Or couldnt you at least stand next to the bed or sit on a pregnancy ball next to the bed. When my mobile monitor acted up they still let me stand next to the bed and pace right there and bounce on the ball. Sorry they aren't letting you stand. With csections, after being on those uncomfortable beds for days in a row I have a numb bum for up to a month after, worst thing ever. Hope you can get them to let u up!
Avatar f tn A non stress test is just monitoring the baby's heart beat, movement, and your contractions (if any) for 20-60min, usually. Just making sure things are relatively normal, like the heart beat being steady and consistent, etc. I ate ice and played on my phone. Though a woman had her baby that hour while I was there..kind of awesome!
Avatar f tn She didnt say anything about inducement just monitoring my contractions.
Avatar f tn i'm surprised they don't have you on progesterone shots, and monitoring you more closely...i had my daughter around the same time as you and with my son i had shots every week, and cervial measurements every 2 weeks from 14 weeks till i went into preterm labor with him and then it was bed rest and contraction monitoring too.
4165941 tn?1353988628 ll hook a fetal monitor to you, which is an elastic like belt that goes around the waste and has a monitor attached to monitor babies heart beat and another band with another monitor that will monitor your contractions. These things will beep, print on a paper and make noises that'll draw you in like you can really tell wtf is going on. You'll get an iv and they'll probably start u on fluid while monitoring your bp, heart rate and usual vitals.
Avatar f tn Wow why don't you.slap that girl.in the face. She clearly stated she lost her baby due to not being monitored . So to say it's not important to be monitored closely would vary from person to person. Hoping that their baby is OK. I myself will insist on being monitored fully as.
