Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar f tn I think everybody takes it for granted that it is, I read a few (credible scientific) articles on this subject and some say the benefits are modest vs the contraindications. Elsewhere I read they are prescribed for days or weeks, my doctors told me to keep using them indefinitely. Wish you all the best, meaning let's hope we don't get worse too fast...
Avatar f tn He or she may recommend over-the-counter medications such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine), or prescription medicines such as a daily nasal steroid, such as Flonase (fluticasone), Rhinocort AQ (budesonide), Nasonex (mometasone furoate), or Beconase (beclomethasone), or a leukotriene inhibitor, such as Singulair (montelukast sodium).
7052683 tn?1392938795 lucky tho that she has such a good mommy and is helping her as best she can. Its always such a difficult dilemma to weight the pros and cons the quality of life vs quantity. First of all you need to decide if these medication are helping her or just adding to her troubles. Are you positive its the med that is causing the diarrhea? thats not one of the side effects listed, in fact constipation is. so perhaps the dosage isn't yet just right???

Avatar n tn I had posted here before about a different condition, but I noticed something the other day that concerned me a little. I noticed that there was some redness on my scrotum and a slight burning sensation. I had been in a thermal pool the day earlier, so I thought it might be something like contact dermatitis. I went to the doctor he prescribed mometasone furoate cream. I haven't noticed any burning sensation as I had earlier this week but the redness has remained.

Avatar f tn I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
Avatar m tn I then went to a dematologist and he suggested that clobetasol is too strong and prescribed mometasone. After more than two months, the mometasone has not made any difference. Can someone Id it from the picture and suggest alternate methods to treat it?
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
Avatar f tn Budesonide is the generic name, i am on Entocort with contains budesonide, because budesonide is not sold generically in the state of new jersey. I have been on it for about 3 months now, but I was also on it for quite awhile a few years ago. I have never had anything but success with it. there are no side effects. I will be on it for another 2 months and my dr plans to take me off of it.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?

Avatar n tn I have a dog with IBD and he takes a compounded steroid called Budesonide everyday plus an enzyme supplement called Prozyme and stays on a strict diet of a fish and pot dry kibble. He still flares up every few months with bloody diarrhea which then we start up sulfasalazine 3 times a day which usually calms things down within a few days and after a week or 2 he's back on track.
Avatar n tn He has been on budesonide for 4 weeks with no results. He also takes esomeprazole with no results. When she did the cameraoscopy she saw what she called white fuzz at the beginning of lower intestines. We did a round of fungal meds. No results. Can anyone help please.
Avatar m tn Hi granma, Your cat may also need some medication for her IBS. My cat takes Budesonide in liquid form everyday. She has the other problem of constipation, but I give her miralax. Ask your vet if the Budesonide would be indicated for this condition...I think she sounds like it is pancreatitis or Irritable Bowel. Fairly common in cats. My cat is also on Hills Z/D food only. I know some do not favor this food but it works for my cat along with the Busesonide....so I am a believer.
Avatar n tn I had some dry skin patches problem for same I was taking the treatment. My Dr prescribed me to use Mometasone Furoate cream for dry patches on my skin. But while travelling in a flight I felt my whole face was drying up severly so I applied it on my face around 5-6 time (after applying my moisturizer first ) on same day. Beside that I ate very-very spice food on that day. It was so much spicy that it brought blood in my nasals.
