Avatar n tn This sounds like irritation, for which mometasone, a mild steroid, is a good treatment. 5 days is about right. Redness can last for a couple of weeks after irritation goes away. You should ignore it. If the burning returns, try the mometasone again for a couple of days. Stay in touch with your doctor for further advice. No need for another opinion--it sounds as though you got the right one the first time around. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or steroid induced rosacea. Steroid induced rosacea is an adverse effects of using steroids. Some patients develop steroid-induced rosacea within weeks of applying a topical steroid; others may not experience it for years. You can use tacrolimus ointment for this.Using this rosacea often resolves the itch, redness, and tenderness of steroid-induced rosacea in 7 to 10 days with twice daily application.
Avatar m tn I used mometasone furoate (a topical steroid cream) last night (for the first and ONLY time) on the base of my penis due to a minor skin allergy. Additionally, my wife and I are currently trying to conceive. When my dermatologist gave me the prescription for the mometasone furoate she knew I was trying to conceive and said it was OK to use.
Avatar n tn i was using mometasone furoate cream since 3 years and now i have stopped using it and so now my skin has dried so what should i do to recover my skin?
Avatar m tn Hello, i have had a rash for almost 3 months and it was originally diagnosed as atopic dermatitis by my dr. He prescribed me Mometasone furoate 0.1%. I used about a tube and half of this cream rather quickly about 3-4 days on my bakc, chest, arms, groin area. After the rash appeared to have gone away, it would come back after i would work out and sweat. After the rash continued to appear i went to my dermatologist where they took two biopsies of skin from my back.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar m tn So i stopped using wet wipes completely. My family doctor agreed with my theory and prescribed mometasone steroid cream to help speed up the healing process. after about two months of no wipes and mometasone, my problem was gone. Now if i even touch a baby wipe or adult wipe with my hand, i get a poison ivy-like rash, which is strange because i used both for years with no issues. Apparently, you can develop an allergy to anything at any time.
Avatar m tn Used mebhydrolin, cetrizine, fexofenadine, for prophylexis, got result but no complete recovery. Taking mometasone masal spray, got result, but not complete respite. How to get rid of it?
5675247 tn?1372384225 Hello, Melacare is a bleaching agent containing hydroquinone, tretinoin, and mometasone (topical steroid). Both hydroquinone and mometasone have serious side effects. You should consult a dermatologist and then stop the cream. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.
Avatar m tn I've had this condition of small red bumps developed from irritation or friction on the penis gland before about 2 yrs back or so, I'm getting them again on, I was told it was due to too much friction from sex, but they actually appeared from over masturbating and probably gets irritated just the same, but this time I got them from getting oral sex for an extended period of time, but in any case, I was given this topical cream to put on which made the bumps go away and the skin of the gl
Avatar f tn Using a steroid cream such as hydrocortisone is sometimes successful in helping control the hives out break and relieve the itching. I was prescribed a stronger steroid called Mometasone Furoate Cream usp 0.1%. In my case it's absolutely life saving!!
Avatar f tn I must inform you about the fact that I have been regularly using Melacare for the past 3 years and I read from few articles on the net that , prolonged application of mometasone creams can lead to skin atrophy since memetasone is a steroid. Now my question what can I apply to reverse this skin atrophy condition or will this actually self-heal the natural way ? would be very grateful to you if you would let me know at the earliest possible time. Thank you.

I'm currently treating a case of penile lichen planus with mometasone furoate (Elocom) and lamisil combo. 10 days in its started to work. Got drunk last night and went to a massage parlor and received very brief oral sex to the point I was still semi flacid. Regardless, anxiety came over me and I started dwelling about HPV and STD's.

Avatar m tn I then went to a dematologist and he suggested that clobetasol is too strong and prescribed mometasone. After more than two months, the mometasone has not made any difference. Can someone Id it from the picture and suggest alternate methods to treat it?
Avatar f tn It seems that only the mildest of rashes respond well to OTC meds. The rest require a prescription steroid cream applied 2x daily at a minimum, and the more severe rashes have required steroid injections and/or oral steroids in addition. A few people have had to stop treatment because the rash became life-threatening. These drugs can cause a rash so severe that it affects internal organs as well, and this is very dangerous.
Avatar m tn The doctor may decide that you now need a prescription for the steroid type of inhaler to use once or twice a day and the Albuterol as and when you need it. There are different types of steroid inhalers, but their job is about the same. So if the doctor prescribes you with one that is not helping, do get back to him to try you on a different one.
Avatar n tn He did a skin biopsy on my leg, and I am currently still waiting for results. In the meantime, he gave a Elcom (Mometasone Furoate 0.1%) Cream to put arms and legs, once daily. I have been using this cream for about a month now. I noticed that some of the spots on my arms are getting better, but as for my legs, there is little improvement. Also, I have noticed that the skin around the spots have become whiter and they seem to be different.

Avatar m tn The dermotologist gives me a shot of something (i have no clue, but am guessing some kind of steroid) and that seems to take away the inflammation and burning. He also gives me betamethasone valerate foam. His diagnosis is a bacterial infection, but i'm at a loss. My wife has gone to her doc and been checked and nothing was found. Something also i need to mention that i have noticed is a cottage cheese type discharge from my wife after sex.
Avatar n tn Serevent is indeed a beta-agonist and capable of causing tachycardia, especially in individuals who may be sensitive to the actions of this class of drugs. That may be the case with you. The terminal half life of salmeterol xinafoate (Serevent) is stated to be about 5-6 hours with total excretion in about a week.
