Avatar n tn He did a skin biopsy on my leg, and I am currently still waiting for results. In the meantime, he gave a Elcom (Mometasone Furoate 0.1%) Cream to put arms and legs, once daily. I have been using this cream for about a month now. I noticed that some of the spots on my arms are getting better, but as for my legs, there is little improvement. Avatar m tn Greetings, I've recently went to a doctor because of a possible hemorrhoid problem. The skin around the anus was also red. He prescripted me a meconazole nitrate 2%-hydrocortizone 1% cream for the rash but I don't see it getting better! And do believe me this is much more annoying than the hemorrhoids themselves as I cannot freely move, go to the toilet or even touch it! The whole area is red with a pale red line in the middle of it!
Avatar n tn Prescribed change of soap, Fisiogel (Stiefel - hypoallergenic lotion for the cutaneous barrier), Hixizine (hydroxyzine 2 x 25mg/day) and Topison (mometasone furoate - Libbs) for topical use on the lesions 2x day on the body and 1x day on the face. First day OK, second day I woke up in the middle of the night with something I reckon could be the so called Bell's palsy - burning and stinging sensation on the left cheek and nose, with uncontrollable lacrimation from the left eye.
Avatar m tn I have been afflicted with this problem for over half a year now and it's driving me absolutely crazy. I am a 26 year old male. I've been to the doctor twice now, and he could not definitively diagnose. The problem started in the perineum/lower testicles. It then spread to anus and now the space between my thighs and groin (only on left side now...). The doctor recommended that I use antifungal cream (desenex, lotrimin).
Avatar m tn Used mebhydrolin, cetrizine, fexofenadine, for prophylexis, got result but no complete recovery. Taking mometasone masal spray, got result, but not complete respite. How to get rid of it?
Avatar m tn I used mometasone furoate (a topical steroid cream) last night (for the first and ONLY time) on the base of my penis due to a minor skin allergy. Additionally, my wife and I are currently trying to conceive. When my dermatologist gave me the prescription for the mometasone furoate she knew I was trying to conceive and said it was OK to use.
Avatar n tn In August of '09 I started to have anal itching. I didn't think much of it and ignored it for a few months because it wasn't that bothersome. Then I started to have stinging pain with a bowel movement. I'm not sure if I had a rash but probably did. And because the itching wasn't going away and was getting extremely annoying I went to my gyn.
Avatar n tn If the burning returns, try the mometasone again for a couple of days. Stay in touch with your doctor for further advice. No need for another opinion--it sounds as though you got the right one the first time around. Best. Dr.

Avatar m tn ) which may also have been secondarily infected with yeast. Prescribed Ketoconozole for the probable/possible yeast infection, as well as mometasone furoate for the psoriasis. Have been dealing with dry cracked skin on anal region forever it seems, but once I got these dry scaly areas on penis I finally put it all together (or the doc did), now I have the answer I believe. It does not itch, and is in separate distinct red patches, which my doctor thinks points to psoriasis, not fungal/yeast.
Avatar n tn extends from the scrotum to the anus. Have used Elocom (mometasone) when I start peeling (applied for two days every 1-2 months). *Anal Warts: Internal and external. Appeared 5 years ago, and no longer symptomatic. However, I was treated by many multiple electro-cauteries (burning) and freezing. I suspect that the many treatments would have left my anal skin much more fragile. It seems that the scratching from the psoriasis provokes the herpes.
Avatar f tn It can be treated but it commonly has recurrences also and there are no home remedies for psoriasis. So a regular treatment is required for this. Treatment options include Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids,Psoralen+UVA and PUVB therapy. Over time, psoriasis can become resistant to a specific therapy.
Avatar m tn She gave me Elocon Cream (Mometasone Furoate 0.1%) for 2 weeks 5 days a week, and keep using the moisturizer plus use a saline solution to clean the penis... Avatar f tn Go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning, even on weekends. If you’re taking medication for your psoriasis symptoms, talk with your physician about the best time for you to take it, suggests Dr. Weiss. You don’t want your meds to interfere with your sleep. Also, ask your doctor about medications that can relieve itching. Work Exercise Into Your Day Studies show that exercise, especially outdoors, can help fight insomnia.
Avatar f tn I have moderate psoriasis and have been applying topical clobetasol for a few months. It seems to be helping the psoriatic spots, but has caused bruising and thinning of the skin in the surrounding, healthy areas. How do i reverse this? Sunlight helps the psoriasis, but is it dangerous to expose thinning skin to the rays?
Avatar n tn I had some dry skin patches problem for same I was taking the treatment. My Dr prescribed me to use Mometasone Furoate cream for dry patches on my skin. But while travelling in a flight I felt my whole face was drying up severly so I applied it on my face around 5-6 time (after applying my moisturizer first ) on same day. Beside that I ate very-very spice food on that day. It was so much spicy that it brought blood in my nasals.
1673658 tn?1304129481 t know if I have psoriasis of the scalp or not, but the coal tar shampoo has been super effective for me. I actually have a somewhat normal scalp now! It's so amazing. I'm trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. If your scalp sounds similar to mine, I'd suggest trying a coal tar shampoo! It might not be obsessive picking that's the issue! It might just be your skin.
Avatar n tn Hi I understand how concerned you are about this. Your mother appears to have a severe form of psoriasis. In cases such as these, topical medications may no longer be effective. I suggest that you discuss with your mother’s physician the effectiveness of PUVA for treating psoriasis especially in severe forms. "PUVA is an acronym for psoralen (a light-sensitizing medication) combined with exposure to ultraviolet light A (UVA). " Source:http://www.psoriasis.

Avatar n tn Having been on Advair for one year, I now have "frogs" in throat which causes me - a singer - to lose my voice when singing low notes. The Advair was discontinued and I am now on Symbicort which, I am afraid, is causing the same problem. Is there a simple "home remedy" for this problem? Thank you.
