Hi, in 2012 I woke up to go to class and I had lost all motor function and feeling in my right arm, it had turned to dead weight. I lost vision partially, and I could not call 911 on my own. I had to stumble to the neighbors house and ask for help. I went through a full work up (scans, blood work etc) and follow up visits with neurologist, the final word was I had a TIA. A mild suggestion to maybe start an aspirin regiment was suggested. I was 27.

Hi. I need some help figuring out how Modafinil works. I basically have something which seems like Insomnia but it isn't. I believe I suffer from Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I have had it since I was 15, I am 25 now. The problem is that, I can't maintain a proper schedule. I can never sleep at a particular time everyday. It keeps moving as every day passes by. For example, right now I am sleeping at around 9 AM everyday and then I am getting up at around 5 PM.

Nuvigil, alerted, modafinil, Provigil are the same -as far as I understand. I am paying more than you - I have high deductible insurance but took the hit because I needed a replacement for amantadine to help with fatigue. Hi Alex, I am sorry you are feeling so fatigued. It's rotten. Here is my experience. The modafinil not only works, but it's a complete lifesaver for me. I would be in big trouble without it. I started out on 200mg. This was a disaster for me. I am small, and I think the dose was too much. It made me feel as if I was on a train that wouldn't stop and it gave me heart palpitations. This freaked me out and I stopped immediately. Neuro recommended trying 100mg.

Hi all, I currently take 100 mg of Modafinil every morning but was advised that I could take up to 400 mg per day. The doc who prescribed mentioned one tab in the am and one in the pm but I have heard from other people who take it that they find it better to take 200 mg in the am instead of splitting it into two doses. You also need to get evaluated for depression which includes loss of pleasure, social withdrawal, tiredness etc. Get your thyroid profile too. Drugs like Modafinil, Methylphenidate and Amphetamines against prescription can help to increase the alertness during the day and they are esp. useful in excessive daytime sleepiness. Hi! I have central sleep apnea/asthma which started it seems 2 years ago with chronic fatigue and O2 levels of about 73% (my FEV1 scores are also 73%). I'm worried my brain cells are dying and I'm having severe chronic fatigue, memory/ADD loss, headaches and sometimes vertigo. I have a neu cyst in my clivus. I've tried bipap with O2 but it doesn't work that well and I'm getting 0% stage 3/4 sleep. What caused my sleep apnea, memory/ADD problem and what can I possibly do?

I've just started taking modafinil, 100mg per day for a month then I can titrate to 200mg if needed. It will be needed! 100mg, to be honest, is making no difference whatsoever.
