Hi there, Concerta is quite well known to cause weight loss, common complaints of appetite being suppressed, not being hungry, feeling full etc occur in all ages and gender. Significant weight loss is probably one of the more common reasons for a change in medication, so i would definitely recommend discussing your weight loss concerns with your prescribing dr.

i went on the modafinil for 2 months and still absolutely no change. blood tests came back and everything was normal, b12 was a little low, i took some multi-vitamins, went back again for more blood work this time for a whole slew of tests and b12 was normal as was everything else. at this point the doctor has no idea what it could be. i dont remember exactly when this started happening but i have been largely overweight for the last 10 years or so.

I find it funny that you bring that up because I am also on Modafinil and Cymbalta. Try to get rid of the Seroquel and trazadone when you can and go for the Cymbalta and Provigil. Think about adding a good vitamin B complex to help with energy and you metabolism and what it can do for your brain and mood.

Can anyone please tell me if adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) will affect taking birth-control pills? In other words, if I occasionally take adrafinil to help me study - will it make the pills ineffective. I certainly don't want to get pregnant. I know that long term use of Modafinil decreases the effectivenes of bc pills but how about short term use? Once or twice a week? Thank you!

I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal. I have heard that "Adderall" can help some people who were taking Provigil but you have to ask your doctor about that. I only hope this drug goes to a generic form one day so I can have it again.

My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Hi, in 2012 I woke up to go to class and I had lost all motor function and feeling in my right arm, it had turned to dead weight. I lost vision partially, and I could not call 911 on my own. I had to stumble to the neighbors house and ask for help. I went through a full work up (scans, blood work etc) and follow up visits with neurologist, the final word was I had a TIA. A mild suggestion to maybe start an aspirin regiment was suggested. I was 27.

I as well was denied alertec and they chenaged to Modafinil bc it is cheaper and needs to be tried first (the are the same.. Just cheaper) My neuro still had to send in authorization papers to have coverage approved. It was no problem for ms related fatigue. I did try amantadine first which did not help so that could have been helpful in having the Modafinil covered. Hope it goes though for you!! It is great for me!!

My dr and even someone on this post told me that prozac is the most stimulating antideporessant,,,well i have been on it since march 3 at 20 mg then dr upped it on the 28th to 40 mg and im not noticing no stimulation....im still deprressed and scared noe im getting headaches,i take xanax to....and as i mentioned on another post he might add an anphentimine to my mixture..he is a pshy....is prozc just not had time to work or does it not energize all people?

B12, iron, transfusion, etc and only after that consider Modafinil if the fatigue still hasn't improved.

Hi all, I currently take 100 mg of Modafinil every morning but was advised that I could take up to 400 mg per day. The doc who prescribed mentioned one tab in the am and one in the pm but I have heard from other people who take it that they find it better to take 200 mg in the am instead of splitting it into two doses. I tried the am and pm option today but am beyond exhausted. I would love to hear what anyone has found works best for them. Thanks!

Hi! I have central sleep apnea/asthma which started it seems 2 years ago with chronic fatigue and O2 levels of about 73% (my FEV1 scores are also 73%). I'm worried my brain cells are dying and I'm having severe chronic fatigue, memory/ADD loss, headaches and sometimes vertigo. I have a neu cyst in my clivus. I've tried bipap with O2 but it doesn't work that well and I'm getting 0% stage 3/4 sleep. What caused my sleep apnea, memory/ADD problem and what can I possibly do?

my son is 21 and is also bipolar with psychosis so he deals with the paranoia more. he takes abilify and modafinil (modafinil is like aderol with out the addictive reactions) it helps him stay more focused. don't know if this helps - but feel free to contact me if i can help any.
