mobic with ibuprofen

Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.

Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.

My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.

I did call my RE and they said no ibuprofen. They said it can mess with ovulation. Only tylenol for this girl!

Hi, I ask this question because both a member on the Arthritis Community, and myself have seen a corelation between taking NSAID for arthritis and depletion of Vit D ... is this just coincidence or is there a possible connection?

Is anyone on here familiar with the med MOBIC? I finally went to the ortho. doctor today for my shoulder pain. Can you believe it, he told me it was carpal tunnel syndrome? I thought the shoulder pain was causing my wrist and fingers to go numb, come to find out it was the wrist causing the shoulder pain. I am totally baffled. I go back on Monday for a nerve study to determine if I need surgery.

I wanted to update that I recently have had problems with pain in my right shoulder, received two shots. And a prescription of 800 mg ibuprofen. which has done nothing for the pain. the dr. then decided to try me on a 30 day pack of Mobic. which is a arthritis medication. I do have that in my neck. it was after 10 days of taking this stuff that I noticed this strange bluish , purple an bleeding under neath each of my large toes. its very very strange.

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

I have been on methadone for pain quite some years and clonazapam for the past 3 or so for anxiety. About 2 or more years ago the methadone just quit working, I continued to see my Dr. telling him that I had pain, this was after going off of the methadone and trying suboxone for pain, when the pain would not go away the Dr. put me back on the methadone. 90mg. 30 three times a day. my clonazapam had the same thing happen, one day it worked and the next it stopped.

I have also spoken with many others , even who use heavy narcotics, and who say they are happiest with Advil, or Ibuprofen, and it works just as well.

I have been having alot of problems lately with gastro problems one off them was acid reflux last week it started come up with blood .This was not the only problem but the rest I am not going to go into detail with.

husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.

My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

Go to a chiropractor. They will take x-rays and get to the bottom of it for a fraction of the cost. Chiropractors don't prescribe meds so they are trained to look for the problem not just treat symptoms. After 2 car accidents 20 years apart (neither my fault) my chiropractor had to take additional x-rays because ER's weren't weight baring and only had two views.

I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. I have been taking it for about 5 days now and I'm noticing tremendous relief!

Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic,for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??

they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic

hi this i defo something no about with my last pregnancy i had severe headaches and i was taking ibuprofen i was taken them all the time but i finally went to the doctors because the pain wouldn't settle and the doctor said DO NOT take ibuprofen just take cocodomal i think thats how you spell it lol.
