Common Questions and Answers about Mobic vs advil

mobic

Avatar n tn Even with Mobic, I found myself still needing Advil. Have now stopped Mobic and am using Advil and tylenol as needed. Per PC, I do have an appt. with a Rheumy for a 2nd opinion in June, but to be honest I am not hopeful that this doc will know how to read an xray......
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
1581408 tn?1296506870 Unfortunately, a few months later I lost my health insurance and could no longer see a doctor to get the Mobic renewed, so I went back to managing with Advil for the next 6 years. In Nov. 2011 I was in a terrible car accident. Someone hit the rear passenger side of my Jeep, causing it to spin, roll over, and land up against a light pole which then fell onto the car.

Avatar f tn I am a 35 yr old female and I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid & Psoriatic Arthritis with Psoriasis, and Acid Reflux Disease w/ a hiatal hernia at age 22 (Psoriasis at age 12). Would the Methotrexate shot be a good option to help with all of the above issues while keeping the GI health issues at bay? So far I'm on way too many pills and nothing is being managed well. I have too many bad days to feel like a proactive citizen anymore.

Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar f tn I take a baby aspirin 81 mg as well but that is such a small dose that it does not compare to what someone would take for headache. I was told Advil and aspirin are not on the safe drug list only Tylenol.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
1844403 tn?1319049472 My OBGYN and RE told me that any type of anti inflamatory such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and prescription ones like Celebrex and Mobic can keep you from ovulating. If doing IVF, it can also affect you. During the retrieval they may be able to get many follicles out but may be unable to get eggs out of them. Talk to your RE if you need pain medication.
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. 7510956 tn?1411671417 I was looking for the post of which is best tylenol or Advil and could not find it.
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar f tn No you can't take advil.
Avatar f tn She recommended that I take Advil 3 times a day as anti inflammatory. Has anyone been prescribed this before?
1394601 tn?1328032308 I began taking my Rebif shots without taking Advil in advance. Am I playing with fire?
Avatar f tn As some of you know I suffer from severe health anxiety...I started going through a particularly bad time last fall...I am constantly afraid of headaches, fevers, muscle aches etc..as a result of this I started taking advil constantly and I am up to about 10 to 12 liquigels a day..If I don't take them my anxiety goes through the roof and I start to imagine headaches, pain etc...this can't be good for me..and I don't know how to stop...
