Avatar n tn Please tell me the side effects and potential problems when taking all of the following medications by prescription: Cymbalta (60 MG), Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Ibuprofen (800 MG), Mobic (15 MG), Oxycodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Plaquenil (200 MG), Xanax (0.5 MG).
Avatar m tn Hi there.....May I ask if they are being prescribed by the same Dr.? Even if so, it's always the Pharmacist who runs the check for interactions between medications so speak with them in addition to asking your Dr. if he wants you to be taking these two together or space them apart by x amount of hours. Many Drs. are not aware of specific interactions of all medications so this is why it's also important to only use one Pharmacy.
2030686 tn?1351688548 If you are careful not to touch the needle it is sterile, if you touch it with something like an alcohol swab, it is less sterile. Alcohol swabs are good at cleaning surface dirt, but not so much for sterility, that is why it is not used for sterility in hospitals. In paramedic school, they taught us that the only germs that alcohol kills are the ones that cannot swim...
Avatar n tn I am not sure! I have taken this for a few years now and I wanted to stop. My asthma was worsening and had developed problems swallowing at times. When I stopped the Mobic, I had the most excruciating headaches for almost 1 week now. I am hopeful that this will cease soon, for extra strength Tylenol will not touch the pain in my head.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...

5082295 tn?1371250911 I took that medication too but my doctor told me I had to wait up to 2 weeks for the medication to start working properly. I had to stop it by the 5th day because the side effects were awful and that pill almost killed me. As far as I know this medication (Mobic) is prescribed for arthritis. For pain I took a muscle relaxer Flexeril and it worked since the first day I took it. In 2 days I was pain free in my neck, arms and shoulders after having non stop pain and numbness for months.

I am on Mobic 15mgs for severe chronic tibial tendonitis and arthritis in my ankle. Same timeframe Vit D depleted.

I am now taking 60 mg. of methadone, trying to get off of the methadone to become eligible for other pain treatment. I didn't know where to ask this question.
Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
635402 tn?1270162477 Do not take more than 15 milligrams (mg) per day because higher doses increase the chance of stomach side effects. It may take up to two weeks before the full benefits of this drug take effect. Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same time each day. Inform your doctor if your condition worsens. It was approved on 4-14-2000 by the FDA to initially treat osteoarthritis. The drug interferes with the anti inflammatory process.
Avatar n tn Although antibiotics are relatively safe drugs, as stated, there are some side effects. These side effects could potentially become exacerbated if a person ingests alcohol when taking antibiotics. Furthermore, the mixture of both antibiotics and alcohol can also have some additional negative effects on the body. Alcohol and the Effectiveness of Antibiotics Alcohol does not effect the effectiveness of the majority of antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I am not very knowledgeable about any of this so please bear with me, I have been told I have a Haglund triad in my left foot. Physio provided no relief and I could not take mobic due to Side effects and the Panadol osteo was doing nothing to help. I ended up seeing a specialist who has just given me a cortisone injection, I'm not even sure if this was for the bursitis or the severe insertional Achilles tendinopathy. The needlestick appears to be into the Achilles tendon.
Avatar f tn I have no side effects as long as I eat low carb and avoid alcohol. Also, make sure to take it right when you start eating, or right before, not on an empty stomach.

Avatar m tn It is not a fun experience. I did not have an episode, I was just really sick. Check out the side effects of all medications because I believe that some of them make it difficult for a person to vomit; which is very dangerous. ALERT: I am not suggesting that anyone should drink.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar n tn alcohol should never be stopped suddenly unless under a supervised setting due to the many side effects with stopping Some are good with a taper removing 1 drink every so many days to lower the risk of seizures/hallucinations.. we have a forum dedicated to getting off the alcohol You may want to check it out.. I wish you well..
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
Avatar n tn If you are SVR and little to no liver damage it is my understanding it is ok to drink a safe amount of alcohol. The same logic anyone should use with safe alcohol consumption with no hepc . Alcohol will not bring hep c back. Alcohol is only a problem if it is hard for you to control your limits.
Avatar f tn The effects of alcohol are increased by medicines that slow down the central nervous system, such as sleeping pills, antihistamines, antidepressants, antianxiety drugs, and some painkillers. In addition, medicines for certain disorders, including diabetes and heart disease, can be dangerous if used with alcohol. If you are taking any over-the-counter or prescription medications, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether you can safely drink alcohol.
