mobic

518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!

635402 tn?1270162477 Hi everyone I have tried many things for my intense headaches, while they try and figure out the cause. The have tried pain management techniques, chiropractic therapy, bio feed back, the list goes on. They have tried morphine, and vicodin among other drugs they and these did not help. They are trying Meloxicam usually just called Mobic.
Avatar n tn husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
335728 tn?1331414412 Voltarin and Mobic (anti-inflammatories) both caused me to be super sun sensitive. The Voltarin came with a warning on the prescription bottle, but the Mobic didn't. With the Mobic, I got a light sunburn and ended up breaking out in sun poisoning. Thanks for the warning reminder!
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent. What have been your experiences with this med? I'm also on Paxil, 10mgs per day, and Methlyne, 15mgs per day, for the depression and anxiety problems. Thx in advance for all your replys. Thom.
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
Avatar m tn I’m in my mid-forties, and have a lot of medical problems that keep me in constant pain. Some of the things I’ve been diagnosed with include osteoarthritis, bone spurs, fibromyalgia, sciatica, lots of torn cartilage in my knees, lower back pain, COPD, anxiety attacks, depression, PTSD, and, well, you get the picture. My primary doctor and my neurologist have me on a lot of medications.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. Avatar n tn I have many health issues including chronic pain and RSD. I have post polio syndrome as well. There are some good days and some really, really bad days. Over the past 10 years I have been on many pain meds to help with these symptoms. I have been on Oxycontin about 4 times and have stopped using it because the drug demands you to increase the dose and I am not willing to become a slave to these drugs. I have been on just Percocet 5-10mg about 3 times a day for about 3 years.
1311475 tn?1274198780 I should not be in withdrawal since I have tapered myself down to the 60 mg and have been at that dose for quite some time. I was given an NSAID called Mobic to reduce the pain from withdrawal symptoms but have other side effects from that, like withdrawal symptoms when I take it, I for one did not see any of these symptoms that I'm having as a side effect on the drugs information pamphlet or research that I've done on the medication.
1581408 tn?1296506870 dropping things, unable to grab them properly, etc.). The pain itself alternates between the deep bone pain (where it feels like you have a severe bruise and someone is shoving their fist into it - hard) and a burning/cold pain that was most definitely nerve-related. The pain gets exponentially worse if I have to stand up for even a few minutes, so I spend nearly all my time sitting or laying down.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.
168348 tn?1379357075 range of normal being 32-100. I had joint pain, depression, constipation, conentration issues -- all symptoms similar to hypothyroid TSH yet my TSH was normal (2.3) and regulated on Synthroid. My TSH fluctuates between 1.8 and 2.3 due to side effects of not being able to take more Synthroid for supression due to anxiety side effects. Once I began taking my Vit D supplements (first 6 weeks 100,000 iu's followed by 1X week 50,000 iu's) my recheck is normal at 32 with no symptoms.
Avatar f tn the only meds that help relieve most of the pain are Zomig (really expensive, but no generic version yet) and Meloxicam (generic for Mobic) - both pills taken together usually decrease pain within an hour or two. Hope this helps. My doc also suggested Imitrex when I can't afford the Zomig anymore.
Avatar f tn ice packs, heat pads, massage therapy, physiotherapy, yoga, meditation, hydrotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, other types of neurolytic blocks, aromatherapy, Reiki, acupressure and acupuncture, guided imagery and biofeedback. Usually a combined approach of a pain killer and a non-medication therapy helps give best pain relief. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
Avatar f tn My doc put me on methylprednisolone as a last ditch effort and EVEN THAT feels like battery acid, but unlike with all the others.. after the medication left my system I felt 100% like a normal, pain free, human being. I desperately, desperately want to continue with steroid therapy but I don't know what to try next. I took half a pill (2 mg) and even that hurt, but it was bearable but it still flared me.
Avatar f tn I have been having issues off and on for the last year or so but it's been daily for the last few months. My body aches all over....shoulders, neck, back, legs, arms and feet. The worst pain is in my shoulder blades and legs. My boyfriend massages around my shoulder blades and it's really tender but at the same time feels so good. After the massage the pai and tenderness are still there though.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
