Mobic or ibuprofen

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic or ibuprofen

mobic

Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.

reanl disorder - excessive protein in urine and/or cellular casts 8. neurologic disorder - seizures, or psychosis *9. anemia or low white blood count or lymphopenia or low platelet count *10. positive ANA 11. positive anti-DNA or anti-Sm, or antiphospholipid antibody or false pos. syphilis test That's 5 out of the 11 criteria for lupus. I'm not sure about #7 though. I would change doctors. I've also heard that about plaquinel causing the ANA to read negative.
NSAIDS should be taken with food or milk because they irritate stomach lining (unless you take Celebrex or Vioxx or Mobic, which don;t).
, MAKE MY HEARTBEAT AND BP GO CRAZY. I CAN TAKE IBUPROFEN, MOTRIN...NURSE TOLD ME TO TRY THE MOBIC, AND IF I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, TO LET THEM KNOW. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE ON IT RAISING MY BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART RATE; BESIDES, I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR A MED I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE (AND SHE SAID THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SAMPLES). SO I'VE PRETTY MUCH DECIDED NOT TO TRY IT; BUT, IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS, MAYBE SOME NATURAL OR HOME REMEDIES, OR EXERCISES I MIGHT TRY, I'D APPRECIATE IT...
Can I take ibuprofen or should I just wait it out? I am hoping it is my body's way of saying it is trying to ovulate. *My appetite is all kind of weird right now. I know I am not pregnant but was wondering if maybe people feel this way after taking Clomid? * I am cd15 with an ultrasound tomorrow to see if my follies got big enough for the Ovidrel shot. Any idea when I might ovulate (if I do) after the shot? Thanks!
Right now all I have is Asvil to take but I have Dr appt on Mon and I was wondering if anyone had any extra info or ideas?
Please ensure not to apply ice directly without any cloth. Also take some anti inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac if you have taken them prior to this injury and have not shown any allergic reaction to them. Also consult a doctor because any hematoma which is covering more than 25 % of the area has to be evaluated by a doctor. If there is any nail removal then soak it with an antiseptic and apply some antibiotic cream like Neosporin or Bactroban.
Tramadol is not classified as a narcotic, however, it is as close to narcotic as any other narcotic, so if you are looking for a non-habit forming drug or something with less side effect from a narcotic, Ultram/tramadol may not be the route to take. NSAID have been shown to be effective with osteoarthritis.
So they did a scope today come to find out along with a problem that needs to be fixed from having my gallbladder removed the anti inflammatory has contributed to bleeding erosion's in my stomach So be careful with the Motrin and Aleve and things like Mobic,Voltaren they can be very serious if u ignore it..Now for me will have to be Tylenol or my muscle relaxers ..
I have also spoken with many others , even who use heavy narcotics, and who say they are happiest with Advil, or Ibuprofen, and it works just as well.
You can take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.

If not, maybe go to Celebrex's website and see if they have a coupon or drug program to help with the cost. Otherwise, besides Alever or Ibuprofen, I'm not sure. I would stay away from Tylenol based meds with your liver issues. Hope this helps.
I have tried drinking more water, eating more bananas, taking ibuprofen, and drinking mountain dew but I can't seem to get any energy from anywhere or stop the achiness I feel. Just the other day, I came home from work(my job is physical) and slept for 4 hours.....felt like I had been hit by a semi....I still felt really tired after my nap and went to bed for the night 4 hours later and slept all night only to wake up and do it all over again.
I tried that not long ago but was unable to tolerate the ibuprofen and NSAID drugs due to a hiatal hernia, reflux, and stomach bleeding I am trying the Mobic for pain while withdrawing from the methadone which is a ibuprofen drug, once again the Dr. didn't listen to me or read my medical history of having blood clots in my legs and that I have Hep C.
My non narco drug that I found to work really good for my back pain is called meloxicam I think that's how u spell it it's just the generic of mobic andbis just an NSAID like motrin or naproxen just a good bit stringer is what my doc told me and it works wonders for me so that's another one to try
I am curious to know for those of you who have only been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (no other coexisting diseases such as Lupus or Lyme disease), do you get pain relief from any NSAID medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, or any other prescription NSAIDs like Mobic or Voltaren?
can you get the doctor to prescribe (or give you samples) of a COX-2 inhibitor such as celebrex or mobic? These are powerful anti-inflammatories that do not irritate the stomach lining or cause ulcers. Do you have blood in your stool? If you do, you have a GI bleed and need to get to the doctor. A GI bleed will also make you anemic.
Pain is often part of depression; there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. It can come and go and sometimes changes. Your description sounds a bit like fibromyalgia, but I'm not a Dr. Have you tried pain meds...tylenol, ibuprofen, naprosyn, aspirin. If so, keep track of the pain, activity and meds to take to the doctor; it would be helpful in diagnosing you. Good luck.
I noticed the ribs were assymetrical about 7 or 8 years ago, while I was in college. It didn't hurt too much, but I went to the free clinic on the campus to ask about it any way. The doctor told me to take ibuprofen if it bothered me and, in so many words, to stop wasting her time. I felt sorry for bothering her and left. Now, it REALLY hurts. The left side of my rib cage juts out in the front, but the right side has grown inward, creating a little visible concave dip.
I went to the spine doctor who put me on physical therapy (I start next week), muscle relaxers (yuck can't function on these things) and mobic (strong ibuprofen type of medication). I'm also being tested for Sleep Apnea -- first home study didn't work out so redoing next Monday. Had gallbladder removed 5/20/2012 - Haven't been the same since. So I have a couple of questions. Symptoms over the last 8-10 years (some intermittent) These started after the birth of my son in 2004. 1.
physical therapy, seen a chiropractor, taken 4 differed muscle relaxers (flexaril 5 and 10mg, skelaxin, robaxin, and one other that I can't remember), taken 3 different NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxen, and mobic), a steroid injection, and taken more percocets than I can count. The pain only occurs after I put weight on my spine, when I wake up in the morning I feel fantastic, no pain at all. But once I stand up and put weight on my spine, the pain starts.
Nope never heard of using mobic for wd However it might help with the aches and pains .
My legs ache and feel tight too, and the left is also worse. Sitting or lying when this is bad makes it even worse. I've tried as many as 3 Advil (ibuprofen), and this takes the edge off the pain, but I don't want to take that over the long haul. It would be good to know whether the pain is neuropathic or whether is is actually from tight muscles and constant little spasms. Then getting the right med would seem to be somewhat simpler.
He quit taking them at that time, felt like crap for 3-4 days, and moved on. I'm either gonna have to come clean or come up with a case of food poisoning or something. The menstrual symptoms will only carry me so far, and it is allergy season, which could explain away the runny nose...anyway, I'm afraid of being in pain again everyday more than anything. I know I can get through this right now, its the pain! The Pain!! I'll let everyone know how its going. Good luck to all of you!
I just knew If I didn't shovel when I had, It would only get harder, so I was doing it with every 3 or so inches. So I shoveled 3 times instead of 1 really hard shoveling, we got 9 inches in 24hours. I know its most likely from my spinal canal only being 10mm in my neck, but I cant prove it. I just hope when I go to the doctor tomarrow, this new doctor will listen and maybe give me a referral to a neurologist or an orthopedic surgeon.
He told me that it is a form of an NSAID and that he can't take Aleve or Ibuprofen with it. I'm guessing that is probably why it helps your headaches. I know my headaches are helped more with NSAID's than anything else. Anyway, good luck with everything, and know that you aren't alone!! You are definitely way ahead of me on this journey since I'm just meeting with my PCM this week to hopefully get an appointment to see someone in Neurology or Neurosurgery. Good luck with everything!!
Came on the forum by accident-trying to figure out what's going on with me. My rheumatologist was concerned about my ibuprofen and ultram use (after 2 years prescribed). Went abruptly from 400 mg ibuprofen & 100 mg ultram 6x per day to 1 Mobic. I feel like there is a war going on inside my body....and my mind is not far behind!!! IS this the ultram? The ibuprofen? Both?? Or am I going nuts????
