ve never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.

First, I want to tell you that I'm so glad you found our PM (Pain Management) Forum here on MH ( MedHelp ).
From what I have read the 15 mg's of Meloxicam is taken once a day, whereas the 800mg's of Ibuprofen is taken every 6 hrs OR as prescribed by your Doctor. From everything I've read those 2 doses seem to be the normal dosages given especially for arthritis. The 2 doses seem to be equal in effectiveness, depending on the person.
t feel guilty for takin tylonol or motrin for a headache and whatnot. But good for u for not goin back to the narcotics cause it is easy for us to go back to them when we really are in pain cause our mind will tell us that we need the narcotics cause we r dying cause the pain is so bad even tho it isn't that bad at all.
However, even the pharmacist had concerns about taking both Lodine and Mobic, as she said that they do the same thing and that I should take either one or the other. On top of that, the aspirin. She said it was entirely too many anti-inflammatory pills for one person to be taking. However, when I stated these concerns to the neurologist on my next visit, this is when he told me it was all a part of a “plan” he had to help me.
I have been getting these pulsing or throbbing feeling mostly every where on my body for about 1 month now. I have not been checked for it yet but, it somewhat worries me. I get pain in my joint at times and had a sedrate drawn on me. my sedrate came back only a little elevated. My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain.
I've called several Orthopedic Clinics in my area and they have all told me that ribs are not part of their specialty. I can accept that, but I don't know where else to go. I noticed the ribs were assymetrical about 7 or 8 years ago, while I was in college. It didn't hurt too much, but I went to the free clinic on the campus to ask about it any way. The doctor told me to take ibuprofen if it bothered me and, in so many words, to stop wasting her time.
Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS.
In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses.
But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
I have been having issues off and on for the last year or so but it's been daily for the last few months. My body aches all over....shoulders, neck, back, legs, arms and feet. The worst pain is in my shoulder blades and legs. My boyfriend massages around my shoulder blades and it's really tender but at the same time feels so good. After the massage the pai and tenderness are still there though.
I found a natural product that is the strongest anti-inflamatory/pain reliever you can get over the counter, but can only get it at a natural store, like pilgrims or mothers cupboard or Super Supplements. It is called Phenocane, I get it at Super Supplements, it has herbal roots etc., like Tumeric Root, it is expensive, but worth every penny. It is a miracle what this stuff can do.
Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic,for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels.
A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
I have been vomiting and my stomach hurts a lot I feel bloated.
Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped.
The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
