mobic

Avatar n tn If a blood clot goes through when arteries are spasming, this could cause a heart attack. Be careful and try not to overexert yourself. Take care.
Avatar f tn I have had a very difficult year with lots of body pains. I've been on anti-inflammatories for months, the last being Mobic (meloxicam). About a week ago, I had a couple of days of palpitations (95 to 110 b.p.m.) constantly. I went to my pain doctor and he noticed it was unusually fast so he told me to stop the Mobic. I had all day fast heart rate for next two days. It's much better now; however, about a week ago, i woke up at around 4:00 a.m. with heart pressure.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn //www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise? Those are on the list as potential options. My suggestion is to discuss this with your doctor. Perhaps a trial without naproxen would work to let you know for sure if it is causing the issue. Let us know!
Avatar f tn It causes sharp pain in the costosternal joint — where your ribs and breastbone are joined by rubbery cartilage. Pain caused by costochondritis may mimic that of a heart attack or other heart conditions. Your doctor might refer to costochondritis by other names, including chest wall pain, costosternal syndrome and costosternal chondrodynia. When the pain of costochondritis is accompanied by swelling, it's referred to as Tietze syndrome.
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
Avatar f tn I have been having the same problem for some time, but it has gotten worse the last two weeks. I thought I was having a heart attack and even packed a bag in case. It finally got better, but for 3 days I would get it, with a strange hurrting in my neck, gland area up to my ear. I finally got an appointment with my doctor to avoid a ememrgency trip on the week end. He did an EKG which he said was ok.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.

Avatar n tn This feeling is like what I imagine the crushing feeling that people who have had a heart attack describe in their chest. Has anyone experienced or been diagnosed because of this symtom?
Avatar n tn Several years ago I had a silent heart attack and was in ER for 3-4 days with consgested heart failure. The RCA was stented providing more blood to the deficit area and wall motion returned to normal with medication as well as a reduction of heart size and normal contractions.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 39 and had a heart attack a month ago got the usual meds but not a lot of support I'm just wondering how I'm meant to feel or what everybody feels when it happens to them ?
Avatar m tn A man beside me told me that he had had a heart attack a week ago. He said that the only pain he felt was in his left arm. He also had some numbness in his arm. He went to the ER. They rushed him into the cath lab and placed a stent in one of his coronary arteries. He saved himself any real damage to the muscle of the heart, by acting on his instinct. He looked just fine to have had a heart attack a week before.
Avatar f tn Hi, im an 18 year old female I weigh about 160, my mother & sister has high blood pressure, other than that no family heart issues/attacks. For the past 4 days my left arm (upper) and my left coller bone has been aching, I wouldn't say pain.. its more like pulling a muscle feeling and also my left side of my neck, it can really feel it if I lean forward.
1798872 tn?1346164585 This is because one of the chemicals released by heart cells when they are starving for blood and oxygen during a heart attack, CK, is also released by the muscles of our body under extreme strain or inflammation (caused by extreme exercise, medications, musculoskeletal conditions which cause muscle cell damage).
Avatar n tn Hi Judy- very interesting question. You have mentioned several issues and I will address them separately. 1. Stress cardiomyopathy (CM)/"heart attack" - We see this quite often. Stress CM has several other names - "Tako Tsubo"/"broken heart"/apical-ballooning CM. It refers to a condition where (mostly) women develop chest pain after suffering some sort of emotional or physical stress, and the EKG and blood work suggest a significant heart attack.
Avatar m tn HI The good news is there is no damage to your heart muscle, which means the things you read on the internet do not apply to you. Those statistics normally relate to people who have dead heart muscle from a heart attack. Your latest echo proves your muscle is fine. You seem surprised that this has happened at your age. It is becoming more common now. When I was 46 I had my first blockage, but others were seen during the angiogram which had been there for many years.
