mobic

Avatar f tn And was told to ice and take Mobic. My entire abdomen is still swollen. How long will this swelling last? I am asking because I am supposed to be going on a cruise in 4 days. The pain is much better now.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn X-rays cannot detect muscle and ligament tears. For this you need a MRI. Meanwhile apply ice packs for 10-15 minutes two to three times a day. Raise your leg, do not bear weight, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic and consult a doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn For MS, nsaids rarely work, except to help with pain caused only secondarily. For instance, if you favor one leg, the other may get overworked, with sore muscles or worse symptoms, but there's nothing really happening with it that helping the ailing leg wouldn't fix. As to the Neurontin, very possibly your dosage isn't high enough. Did you know that up to 3600 mg/day is safe?
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn I have since discontinued those meds, and am not having the low back pain. My PCP prescribed Bentyl, for colon spasms... it did nothing for the pain. He also prescribed aciphex for me to take daily (I don't seem to have heart burn or any other GERD type symptoms). I took it for a week and stopped because it wasn't helping. The GI specialist seemed to think it was a pulled muscle from the chiropractic treatment and really didn't want to explore any other option.
Avatar f tn Couldnt move for a solid day until I got some muscle relaxers and Mobic. Tops of shoulders, ribs, base of neck, back, and abdomen after the other pains went away, it g Felt like my whole abdomen was sore and 10 lbs heavier than usual.
Avatar n tn ve also wrenched the left side of my neck twice in the past 6 weeks at work. No arm or shoulder pain, in fact only symptoms for prior surgeries were nerve pain in arm - never had neck pain! At no time did any doc tell me I had OA. I specifically asked this new doc if he saw any disc or bone spurs at that level and he said no. Lab work for RA was all negative. Has anyone had a similar experience???
Avatar m tn I have tried lyrica before and it doesn't work for me at all but that is awesome it does for u and u found something to help ur pain that is non narcotic and no it's not cheatin and y do u feel guilty for takin it cause I'm sure u don't feel guilty for takin tylonol or motrin for a headache and whatnot.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was rearended in 98 since then the Doctors have me on morphine, lortabs, muscle relaxers, ambein, mobic, and more. I`m still in pain. lately I have been feeling so sick of taking all these meds and wondering what it is doing to my liver and body as a whole. feeling weak just not good. My husband tells me i`m going to die if the Doctors don`t stop giving me all the pills he said they don`t care about you. I want to try to get off all of them. What can i do?
1777607 tn?1314442174 the initial no muscle pain / no weight baring persisted for about a week... I followed up for weeks and weeks and months and months and now a year... i have been told it's anything from calf strain to in my head to achilles tendonitis to partial achilles tendon tear to medial gastrocnemius tear... In November they did an MRI of my achilles tendon but not of my calf, the test came back negative, but I never had a second opinion, or saw the image.
757527 tn?1237893063 I haven't taken muscle relaxants, but I can see where they may help to a degree. Any form of barbituate/sedative is going to relax the muscles and provide stress relief. If this is what is helping you with the pain management that's great...but muscle relaxants can become addictive.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
1044813 tn?1370494406 Thanks for the suggestion, and we will certainly look into adding that.
Avatar f tn I have been having the same problem for some time, but it has gotten worse the last two weeks. I thought I was having a heart attack and even packed a bag in case. It finally got better, but for 3 days I would get it, with a strange hurrting in my neck, gland area up to my ear. I finally got an appointment with my doctor to avoid a ememrgency trip on the week end. He did an EKG which he said was ok.
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar n tn Thanks for your advice. What sort of medication did you take before opting for the operation? I have just started capadex for pain and diazepan for muscle relaxant. Only be on them one day but hasn't made any difference. As you know the pain is so excruitiating at times.
Avatar n tn Do you see a pain management specialist or who is managing your pain? Have you gone on the pain management forum here? That may be a good place for you to look for support in addition to here.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.
