Avatar f tn I'm having terrible lower back pain. It also hurts in my hips. When I stand for very long, my legs get real weak and trembly. Any ideas or suggestions? I never had these problems until after having a myelogram on my cervical spine. It's now been over six weeks ago and still no improvement. I had an injection of toradol Monday and felt no relief. Please help...
Avatar n tn I'm a 29 year old female. I have been experiencing lower back pain that radiates down my legs for the past 3 years. I've been to the doctor but all he really does is give me muscle relaxers and pain pills. I've noticed when I walk my back pops and it is loud enough that my husband has commented on the sound. It's starting to effect my job, ( I'm a hair dresser.) I just don't know what direction I should go next. I really am at my wits end.
518798 tn?1295212279 I was on it for a few months for siactic pain and back injury. i didn't notice it did anything. a good one for carpel tunnel is naprosyn. but it is loaded with aspirin and some peoples' stomaches cannot handle it. i had carpal tunnel and man does that hurt too. after like a year we finally tried a steroid pack and that did the trick. also i couldn't work for months. my hands are fine now.
Avatar m tn Apply ice, and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. You will need X-rays of the lower spine, pelvis and hip to see if you have a bony injury. The swelling could be a contusion (which will respond to the above treatment) or it could be a hematoma (localized collection of blood which may get re-absorbed or may need drainage). Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn They worked great for about two weeks and then my pain started to creep back in. I saw my PM last Tuesday and told her about it and she just prescribed me more anti-inflammatory medicine (mobic) which does not make any bit of difference and I've told her this but for whatever reason she wants me to keep taking it. Possibly to see how long it takes before I get an ulcer!
Avatar n tn I have since discontinued those meds, and am not having the low back pain. My PCP prescribed Bentyl, for colon spasms... it did nothing for the pain. He also prescribed aciphex for me to take daily (I don't seem to have heart burn or any other GERD type symptoms). I took it for a week and stopped because it wasn't helping. The GI specialist seemed to think it was a pulled muscle from the chiropractic treatment and really didn't want to explore any other option.
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar m tn Mostly I'd like to say hello to all on this forum. I'm already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
459853 tn?1283140514 I am a 37 year old female and was dx'd with RA when I was about 24. Ever since September of this year I have been dealing with sciatica pain on and off. I had a sever flare up that started yesterday. It's so bad that I am completely bed bound. I can not sit up in the bed, I can't roll over, I can't stand or put ANY pressure on my right foot/leg without severe pain!
Avatar n tn My 15 yr old son has complained of persistent lower back pain for 2 yrs. Advise received from initial visits to his PCP was stretching exercises and to take Advil. Because my son continued to play Baseball,Football and Basketball at competitive levels and excelled in all these sports I assumed it was "growing" pains.
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar f tn He did an EKG which he said was ok. I also had pain under the rib area into the back, and also off and on in the lower rib area to back. I have had a kidney stone several years ago, and was told I should pass it. I don't think I ever did, so wonder if that could cause it. My doctor didnt have a answer, and just said to stop the Mobic for a week and take Aleve. I have'nt had it as much but every once in awhile I do again. I don't know what to think or do, any suggestions?

3122657 tn?1357432602 Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.
Avatar f tn Swelling is still constant the twitching is slowly coming back and my pain is about an 8! Going back in for second round of injections but I have a negative EMG MRI!! When will it end?? Doctors are saying nerve damage I'm so frustrated and just want my life back I'm 43!!!
Avatar m tn Some of the things I’ve been diagnosed with include osteoarthritis, bone spurs, fibromyalgia, sciatica, lots of torn cartilage in my knees, lower back pain, COPD, anxiety attacks, depression, PTSD, and, well, you get the picture. My primary doctor and my neurologist have me on a lot of medications. However, something I’m taking (or perhaps the combination of more than one of the medications) continues to make me retain water, wherein my ankles become huge “kankles”, none of my rings fit, etc.
