mobic

Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn Cymbalta (60 MG), Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Ibuprofen (800 MG), Mobic (15 MG), Oxycodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Plaquenil (200 MG), Xanax (0.5 MG).
Avatar n tn Hello and Welcome to our Arthritis Community, You've asked a good question - and received some good information. I'll just add a bit. As you know Meloxicam (Common Brand Name, Mobic) and Ibuprofen are NSAIDs. Each can be effective in reducing pain and inflammation. As with all medications, their effectiveness often depends on an individual's reaction (metabolism).
1844403 tn?1319049472 So this is actually our first month of seeing an RE so many of my questions may see simple. I apologize in advance. *I have been having a lot of lower back discomfort. Can I take ibuprofen or should I just wait it out? I am hoping it is my body's way of saying it is trying to ovulate. *My appetite is all kind of weird right now. I know I am not pregnant but was wondering if maybe people feel this way after taking Clomid?

Once I began taking my Vit D supplements (first 6 weeks 100,000 iu's followed by 1X week 50,000 iu's) my recheck is normal at 32 with no symptoms. I am on Mobic 15mgs for severe chronic tibial tendonitis and arthritis in my ankle. Same timeframe Vit D depleted.

Avatar m tn which has done nothing for the pain. the dr. then decided to try me on a 30 day pack of Mobic. which is a arthritis medication. I do have that in my neck. it was after 10 days of taking this stuff that I noticed this strange bluish , purple an bleeding under neath each of my large toes. its very very strange. I think it is from arthristis or from this medication. I have had no injuries what so ever to my toes, or feet. what do you think?
5082295 tn?1371250911 Yes I'm on the flexaril still. It only helps w stiffness, & its half a normal dose, plus it makes me so sleepy I rarely take it. I think the mobic may b helping some bc my hip didn't hurt quit as bad today, compared to others. & when u said u felt like u had a cold was it a runny nose & sore throat? Bc I've had that all day after taking it..?
513154 tn?1340225289 The one non-narcotic pain reliever that comes to my mind is Ultram (tramadol). I have talked to many who have used it with success.
Avatar m tn Meloxicam is just a glorified Ibuprofen/Aleve med, so you could always try those OTC. You can take up to 800 mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours or 500mg of Aleve twice a day in it's place. Celebrex is a name brand drug and insurance companies hate those namebrands. lol Your doc can sometimes do a prior authorization, though, to get them to pay for it, which is basically paperwork explaining that you' ve tried other things and this is the only drug that works for you.
1311475 tn?1274198780 ve been off of the methadone numerous times only to return to excruciating untolerable pain, to return to the methadone because of the benefits of pain relief and not being high. For the last 9 months or so, maybe a little longer I have had withdrawal symptoms or all of the side effects for the two medications that could possible be listed even when I was not taking the clonazapam, I had side effects. I am now taking 60 mg.
Avatar f tn [28] However, paracetamol does not help reduce inflammation, while aspirin does.[31] Compared to ibuprofen—whose side effects may include diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain—paracetamol has fewer adverse gastrointestinal effects.[32] Paracetamol is generally believed to be safe for use in pregnancy[33] as it does not affect the closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus as NSAIDs can.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
199177 tn?1490498534 s in my stomach So be careful with the Motrin and Aleve and things like Mobic,Voltaren they can be very serious if u ignore it..Now for me will have to be Tylenol or my muscle relaxers ..
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar m tn I suggest you take this to your doctor. You may also want to hold mobic for a while and see if the symptoms would stop. Stress can also heighten our sensations and may contribute to your symptoms. Regards and God bless.
Avatar m tn Both the medication with give almost equal amount of pain relief though meloxicam is associated with fewer side effects as compared to ibuprofen. Though pain relief may be immediate, anti-inflammatory action may take a few days to build up. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, Did your symptoms begin when you began to take Mobic? Tell your Doctor right away. I don't know enough about Mobic but I do know that any unusual symptoms, especially when you begin a new drug, need to be reported to your Dr. If you're having an adverse reaction you need to let the Dr. know before it advances. Take care, and take care of yourself.
Avatar m tn t hurt too much, but I went to the free clinic on the campus to ask about it any way. The doctor told me to take ibuprofen if it bothered me and, in so many words, to stop wasting her time. I felt sorry for bothering her and left. Now, it REALLY hurts. The left side of my rib cage juts out in the front, but the right side has grown inward, creating a little visible concave dip. That's where it hurts the most, especially if I sit down for more than half an hour.
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar f tn I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. I have been taking it for about 5 days now and I'm noticing tremendous relief!
