I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?

Mobic is an NSAID pain reliever (same class of drugs as ibuprofen, motrin, aleve) and not a narcotic so the addiction potential is very very low. You should be fine as long as you have no stomach issues as NSAIDS tend to aggravate those symptoms or if taken in excess, create stomach problems. Good luck to you! I think the Mobic is a much better alternative to pain management than any narcotic.

I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.

husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.

Please tell me the side effects and potential problems when taking all of the following medications by prescription: Cymbalta (60 MG), Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Ibuprofen (800 MG), Mobic (15 MG), Oxycodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Plaquenil (200 MG), Xanax (0.5 MG).

The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem. Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?

Similarly, the Midol (cramps and body aches) contains ibuprofen and should not be taken with an additional dose of ibuprofen. I am suffering from depression and anxiety. I recently saw my psychiatrist, and he prescribed Effexor (37.5mg a week until I get to 150mg) to treat these conditions. I have been smoking marijuana regularly (daily) for about 5 years now, and it helps me with my lower back pain that I get from an injury that left me with 4 herniated discs, on top of helping with my depression. Obviously it is not helping enough with the depression to be enough, which is why I went to see my psychiatrist.

My OBGYN and RE told me that any type of anti inflamatory such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and prescription ones like Celebrex and Mobic can keep you from ovulating. If doing IVF, it can also affect you. During the retrieval they may be able to get many follicles out but may be unable to get eggs out of them. Talk to your RE if you need pain medication.

07 that now I stay in shade and use higher SPF sunscreen. And, of course, at that magical age (50) where this stuff appears. I wonder about the Mobic and was brought up on Arthritis Community. BTW, all labs are normal while on Mobic except for the Vit D. They test ev. 3-6mos Kidney function, etc. 24 Hr is normal, too.

i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.

I wanted to update that I recently have had problems with pain in my right shoulder, received two shots. And a prescription of 800 mg ibuprofen. which has done nothing for the pain. the dr. then decided to try me on a 30 day pack of Mobic. which is a arthritis medication. I do have that in my neck. it was after 10 days of taking this stuff that I noticed this strange bluish , purple an bleeding under neath each of my large toes. its very very strange.

50 mg and yea motrin 800 doesn't work for me either and is rough on my stomach but mobic(that's the non generic name for meloxicam) is only 15mg and doesn't bother my stomach.

I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.

I tried that not long ago but was unable to tolerate the ibuprofen and NSAID drugs due to a hiatal hernia, reflux, and stomach bleeding I am trying the Mobic for pain while withdrawing from the methadone which is a ibuprofen drug, once again the Dr. didn't listen to me or read my medical history of having blood clots in my legs and that I have Hep C.

when I have drug interaction questions I go to druginteractions.com and enter the drugs that I am taking and it lets me know if they have any interactions or precautions. I also take fiorocet which has tylenol in it but I do not know off hand about the barbituate and how that would react with the ibuprofen at that dosage so check it out if you haven't already or for future reference.

I've been taking Rebif since my Dx in March with no problems until last night! I took aspirin before my shot instead of my usual ibuprofen and have never felt so horrible. When they say "fllu-like" symptoms that's the understatement of the millenium!!! I shivered so hard I thought I was going to crack my teeth. I could barely hold a cup of water from the shivering and shaking to take some ibuprofen.
