Mobic and heart attack

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic and heart attack

mobic

Avatar n tn My brother, 2yrs older, has had bypasses, has a pace maker-diffibular, and his heart functions at only 20%. My doctor put me on Mobic, and Flexeril for pain from a bad fall a few months ago-no xrays, etc. He had me stop Mobic for a week, saying to resume after chest pains stop. I think that helped but I resumed it about 1wk ago, and the chest pains seem worse and more frequent. I just stopped the Mobic again today, to see if that helps. I am concerned it could be a prelude to a heart attack.
659608 tn?1318289366 I will research congestive heart problems here on this site to see the signs. I am not on any heart medications, my doctor had put me on Mobic and Flexeril at the same time, and after a couple months I actually started having sharp pains in my chest and left breast area. After reading the information from the pharmacy, I stopped them, and told my doctor. He told me to get off it at once, that it wasn't any good for me. I told him I had already done so.
Avatar f tn Non steroidal anti inflammatory medications do have documented affects on the heart including raising blood pressure. They work so well for pain and immflamation that it is a real shame. Some will have more of an effect than others. To note, Mobic is also an Nsaid. But perhaps has less heart effect. Here's an article I found helpful https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.

Avatar f tn Frequently I get a pain in my right lower rib when I hunch forward or move my upper body. It is worse when i'm sitting down and bend over. It doesn't hurt all the time and comes in and out. But when it does hurt, it hurts for a long time.
Avatar f tn I have been having the same problem for some time, but it has gotten worse the last two weeks. I thought I was having a heart attack and even packed a bag in case. It finally got better, but for 3 days I would get it, with a strange hurrting in my neck, gland area up to my ear. I finally got an appointment with my doctor to avoid a ememrgency trip on the week end. He did an EKG which he said was ok.
168348 tn?1379357075 my son had a stomach virus about 3 months ago and ended up in terrible agony which he said was like heart burn only more severe so he went to the chemist who gave him antacid but over the next couple of days it got worse so he took himself off to hospital and they told him that the virus had eaten a portion of his stomach lining which made it raw and the acid was eating into it.

Avatar m tn t going to have a heart attack. He then listened to my heart and told me that it was just stress and anxiety. Can you help me out please and relieve me of my worry?
Avatar n tn When he rests he has no pain at all and its only on movement - surely with a heart attack you would have continous pain and not just on movement
Avatar f tn My boyfriend came over to my place Saturday morning, he brought breakfast for everyone, and a new game for our Wii which we all played happily until I had to take my 3 kids to thier Dad's place. I also took my youngest son (his Daddy is my boyfriend) so he could nap in the car. It was decided that when I got back into town I pick up my boyfriend and we go out shopping.
Avatar m tn I am 51 years old my brother had a massive heart attack at 34 and died both my mother and father had several heart attacks that eventually took their lives. I have an Older brother who had 2 heart attacks and 3 strokes he is in poor health.
Avatar f tn i was just googling my symptoms and found these symptoms linked again and again with heart attacks I was wondering if you think this could have actually been a heart attack. I dont really like doctors, and hate feeling like a time waster. I would just like your opinion on what you think this may have been. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn Recently had a EKG (actually two) and it suggested a prior mild heart attack. I am scheduled by my cardiologist for a nuclear stress test. I was questioned about any chest pains and could remember none. However, I do remember that my dentist a number of yrs. ago, injected novocaine and I had a terrible reaction, shakiness , flushed and having a difficult time breathing. The doctor said sometime the injection will go straight into my blood system and cause this .
Avatar f tn I am on Plavix for my Heart Attack and my husband is on Coumadin for a blood clot he had 3 years ago 1 month after he had broken his ankle and had to have surgery. I say he should be off the Coumadin already. He went back to work full time after the broken ankle and also lost 60 lbs. He says the Plavix is just as bad.
Avatar n tn Several years ago I had a silent heart attack and was in ER for 3-4 days with consgested heart failure. The RCA was stented providing more blood to the deficit area and wall motion returned to normal with medication as well as a reduction of heart size and normal contractions.
976897 tn?1379167602 Just had angioplasty for a heart attack and thought I would post the experiences so others can hopefully benefit in some way or other. It was last thursday morning when I walked upstairs to the bathroom. I felt very light headed, so much that it was a real effort to not pass out. I had chest pains on a scale 1-10 (8) which would not go away even when I was relaxed. Sweating was incredible, I haven't sweated so much in all my life. No palpitations and no shortness of breath.
Avatar n tn Standard recommendation is not to second guess. If you have the idea that it may be heart related, and you don't feel right, get yourself to the ER. Better to be reassured than to wait and have an event. Maybe make a call to your GP to discuss what happened and what you felt and see what they recommend, even though your symptoms may have subsided by now. Ever had an EKG done? Be well and take care.
Avatar f tn If you have no history of depression it seems likely to me there is some physiological reason for the symptoms you describe. I would suggest another more proactive step, and that is to go to a diagnostic clinic like Mayo, Cleveland, or a university hospital where you can be evaluated by a team of specialists. If you are not making progress in your health, then your doctor treating you now should be very willing to make a referral. If not, do it on your own.
Avatar m tn If you went to the hospitial within hours after your episode there are identifying markers....the marker CK-MB would show an increase above normal in your blood test about six hours after the start of a heart attack. It reaches its peak level in about 18 hours and returns to normal in 24 to 36 hours.a blood test. You probably don't need to go to your doctor if you have only fainted one time and you are in otherwise good health. Fainting is common and usually not serious.
Avatar f tn Please go to ER now to be checked. They'll do some blood work to check for enzymes that appear after a heart attack and of course you'll be hooked up to an ECG. Nothing very threatening but you need to know if you did have a mild heart attack, whether there was any damage done and how prevent another one. Please...
1814992 tn?1316890851 The symptoms are very similar to that of a heart attack and very uncomfortable. What helps me are things like maalox, nexium, tums or some form of an antacid. When you feel them coming on-sit up and if you can, try raising your bed up a little at night so the acid doesn't come up into your esophagus. If it makes you feel any better at all, I've had a heart attack and although everyone's symptoms are different, I had NONE of those.
