Mobic and fibromyalgia

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic and fibromyalgia

mobic

Avatar n tn it would be great if there were such a thing, and maybe for some there is. My cocktail was a daily dose of 16 aspirin, Mobic, antidepessants for pain, valium, and a few other things, and that cocktail still didnt work for me. Let me know if you find one.
Avatar f tn I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Pain is often part of depression; there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. It can come and go and sometimes changes. Your description sounds a bit like fibromyalgia, but I'm not a Dr. Have you tried pain meds...tylenol, ibuprofen, naprosyn, aspirin. If so, keep track of the pain, activity and meds to take to the doctor; it would be helpful in diagnosing you. Good luck.
335728 tn?1331414412 I am currently on 40mg Elavil (amitriptyline)/daily for pain and on the weekend while I was fishing I became severely sunburned on my legs and arms. My legs are now blistering and are extremely painful and I would like to save anyone else from going through this. Please ensure that if any of the meds you are on cause you to be sun sensitive to take this side effect VERY SERIOUSLY!
176838 tn?1211460374 I am a 31 year old female and I recently saw a fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue specialist for a myriad of complaints including fatigue, headaches, joint & muscle pain. He thinks I might have sleep apnea which would account for some of my symptoms but not all. I have some of the pressure points for fibromyalgia but not a full 11.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
5082295 tn?1371250911 That doctor thought I had arthritis and fibromyalgia because my joints in my hands and ankles were swollen and prescribed Mobic for it but at the end I went to a rheumatologist and after a lot of blood tests he told me I didn't have arthritis nor fibromyalgia. They still don't know what I have.
Avatar m tn However, even the pharmacist had concerns about taking both Lodine and Mobic, as she said that they do the same thing and that I should take either one or the other. On top of that, the aspirin. She said it was entirely too many anti-inflammatory pills for one person to be taking. However, when I stated these concerns to the neurologist on my next visit, this is when he told me it was all a part of a “plan” he had to help me.
Avatar f tn If this too is normal then fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome should be looked at. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

After about 10 days or so for me the pain lessened and has been manageable with tylenol!!! And it isnt even daily pain anymore!!!! So hang in there!!! Avatar m tn A few years latter I went to cymbalta and that work and recently the insurance said no and I went thru the process again and nothing happed. What other medication is out there? It is so hard to get up in the moring because of the pain I have to crawl to the shower to have the warm water loosen me so I can do my fibro stretches in order to function. I have read some of the people who take narcs for the pain. Are you aware that narcs can make it worse?
Avatar f tn However, those tests came back negative. When he told me of my results he said he thinks I might have fibromyalgia and asked how I have been doing on the medication (Vit D, mobic, and Ultram) that he gave me. I told him I've been feeling worse and that now I haven't been able to sleep or concentrate on anything. I see my primary care doctor tomorrow and was wondering how likely she would be able to help me out until my next rheumy appointment. I just want to be able to sleep!
975514 tn?1324997938 I am curious to know for those of you who have only been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (no other coexisting diseases such as Lupus or Lyme disease), do you get pain relief from any NSAID medications like ibuprofen, Aleve, or any other prescription NSAIDs like Mobic or Voltaren?
Avatar n tn In December went to my Neurologist, for my Nacolepsy and RSD and he said you have Restless Leg/Fibromyalgia and I Started on Lyrica and also something for sleep. It has helped still have flare ups. PLEASE DO NOT GO THROUGH WHAT I DID.
Avatar f tn It helped along with the anti-inflammatory medication I was given (Mobic or Meloxicam) and with the help of Tramadol (Ultram) and Melatonin for sleep. When I turned 18 I thought it would be a good idea to see an adult Rheumatologist. They said it wasn't CRPS and stopped prescribing me the anti-inflammatory. Ever since then I have been getting worse again. It's my senior year of high school and I can't attend school daily or meet the requirements of my part-time job.
757527 tn?1237893063 My family doctor recently perscribed both Flexeril and Mobic. After a month without a huge improvement he increased the dosage, and wants me to continue another month. I have gotten some relief however my main complaints from a bad fall 4 months ago, have not improved. He has not shown any concern on how long its safe. I have done research on both, and the reccomendations are for short term use. He thinks I have Fibromyalgia, but I don't think so.
Avatar f tn I started taking 60 mg cymbalta around 6 weeks ago for depression and fibromyalgia. I felt I was getting into deeper drepression and still hurting.I went to the Dr and told him and he up the meds. The Dr doubles my dose to 120 mg cymbalta. It has help the pain some but I don't feel right. I am staying sleepy and feel very depress. Can anyone help me with this.
12133699 tn?1423612956 So far I feel sluggish and achey. I do still take mobic, flexeril and topamax for my fibromyalgia. Anything can give me would be great. Thank you!!
Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I would stear clear of the tramdol .
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
1905190 tn?1321792581 I was a knuckle cracker and got the same warnings from people. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Lymes disease but my hands are not my major complaint. I'm 59 and despite the illness I deal with, my body is holding up. Keep yourself strong. Use your Phys. Ed. Class as a way to be active. Stay away from sugar as much as you can. Try to avoid processed foods. This is a basic rule we all should follow. I have a pain in my ribs my Mom, Aunt and Son have.
