My dr. gave it to me, while i was on 40mg of methadone a day. But i was very scared, so I only to a forth of one one night to see. I was so out of it, but still couldn't sleep, b/c i felt like I was overdosing. Wouldn't recommend it.

I've been addicted to hydrocodone. Last time I touched hydro was last sat round noon. I woke up Sunday, hurting like hell, so I took four tramadol. Took the edge off. I decided to quit CT. So Sunday night I took 20mg of methadone to mitigate the W/D symptoms. It's now Tuesday afternoon and I can def feel the W/D symptoms but the methadone seems to be covering it up descent.

Careful with mixing anything. Google it and see what answers you get. You also didn't say how much you took. Now your addiction to Tramadol is a different story. There are many members here that have had that addiction too and are now free of it. Don't just quit Tramadol cold turkey if you can help it. Some people have had seizures and we don't want that for you. Again, we don't know how much your are taking and how long you have been on them.

mixing methadone with klonopin is very dangerous, It makes the effects of the opiate in methadone much much stronger and causes enhaced CNS depression and can cause respiratory arrest causing death.

If Tramadol is an opiate, and so is methadone, why would taking both of them together send you into withdrawls? I know that you can take methadone and vicoden's together and be fine, for that matter you can take methadone and heroin and be fine. Is Tramadol supposded to be like Naloxone?

and just like kim said this can be a deadly combo both my phyc dr and my pain dr where consired when I first went on it that there could be problems with the 2....if I where you id warn my friend that mixing annthing with methadone is gambling with you life..and if your wrong you dont get a second chance...methadone is a very strong narcotic and almost annthing including alcohol effects it so tread lightly...

I used to suppliment my hydro, oxy, and basically anything I could get my hands on with methadone....Then, I was addicted to methadone! I am going to tell you that there is no worse detox then from methadone! Seriously, you need to take a good look at what you are trying to accomplish.....If you want to quit....quit! Cold turkey is the best way.....there are a lot of things you can do to minimize and lessen the time of detox but PLEASE.....put the methadone down!

avisg is correct, tramadol is a sythetic opiate. While some doctors will deny it, tramadol is just a addictive and hydrocodone or any other opiate, the withdrawals from it are JUST AS BAD as withdrawals from methadone. I know this from personal experience. It may not be technially classified as an opiate, but it works the same way... tramadol blocks the same receptors in your brain as morphine does.

Ok- I just learned that my mother who is diagnosed with hep c, end stage renal disease, receives dialysis 3x a week and is a methadone patient (100mg per day) has abused lortabs, tramadol, darvocet and flexirils (approx consumed 70+pills in one month) and eats phengran like candy..... Her nephrologist doesn't seem concerned- she had 14yrs of soberity that lead to a relapse after hystercotomy in which she started the methodone- 11years later all this has occured.

hi kova, 9 years m'done. tapered from 130mg to 5mg. yeah, i reckon it might be tramadol now. mixed in with lingering methadone w/d's. fun. it's not all bad but i go through periods where i think i'm dying. feel like i'm right back at square one...yuk. i can only hope tramadol yuks won't last too long, a few days maybe!? can't really compare to m'done i reckon. so how long off for you now? must be... up around 50 or 60 days? well done!

I think the tramadol will be next to useless when on methadone. Your current methadone dose will almost certainly block or severely limit the efficacy of a dose of tramadol. When i was on the methadone they used to hand out 'Pain Cards' These were like medic alert bracelets that had important information regarding adequate pain relief for methadone dependant people.
