Tom is correct - suboxone is to detox off the percocet. If he takes the suboxone while he is still taking percocet, it could put him into withdrawal. Suboxone is also designed to take once daily, not multiple times per day. 8 mg should be fine for the first week to detox, then as Tom said, taper down, cut the pill in quarters and have your husband take 3/4 for a few days, then go do half for about a week, then go to 1/4, and then 1/8 if you can cut it that small.

I also took some suboxone before getting them filled. I Dono if they were the wrong pills or had to do with the suboxone but they don't really do anything for me this month. That's minor compared to what's really bothering me. I get this feeling of overwhelming nothingness in my mind that gives me so much anxiety.

I would definitely tell the doctor though because they need to know the meds you are on - especially mixing a benzo type med with suboxone. Work with them and they will work with you.

Ok well here is my story.. have an addiction to percocet but have been doing well..Started taking suboxone a year ago..Came off 1/4 of a 2mg and was feeling pretty bad with withdrawls ..to my surprise!! I was told the small dosage I was on, I would feel very lil wd's.. yeah right! anyway i read somewhere that taking percocet will help with the wd's..i know..STUPID!! So I took percocet 4 a week, and 2 pills 4 x a day.. of 10/325.. Now tis is 48 hours and I am in terrible wd's!!

I have dental surgery coming up and was told by the DR I would be on percocet after the fact. I do not see a DR for the suboxone, lets just say I regulated myself on the dose. I have researched every where and cannot find a clear cut answer as to how long it will take to feel the effects of the percocet.... I just do not want to be in pain. Some people (Rph) have said that its up to 17days?? and others i have read say 36-48hrs. Please help?

I know with our doctor he basically stated that the only things not to take with the suboxone where the percocet and kadian due to the withdrawal effects. I listed all of the other meds he is on and he said that it was all fine. If you are still worried after talking to the doctor than maybe you should call your primary and do a double check. 5 clonopin twice a day and buspar 20 mg twice a day for anxiety and have read some bad things with combining these two with suboxone, my doctor said it was fine and I should not be reading about it but I'm still pretty nervous about combining the three.

I would not do that. You would be mixing 3 pain relievers. Percocet has acetominophen (Tylenol). I doubt your liver would enjoy the mix. I would check with your dentist or pharmacist. If bones are healing, you don't want to take Advil. That's what an orthopedic surgeon once told me. For some problems, you can alternate your pain meds. If your stomach isn't overly sensitive, you can probably handle 3 Advil at once.

I Percocet was working fine my doctor thought suboxone would be better because it’s a 24 hour drug.

DO NOT MIX suboxone with Percocet! If you take the sub first the percs won't have any effect. But if you take the percs then sub you will go into withdrawal immediately. I started on the pills and moved to the film with no problem. Suboxone is buprenorphine and nalaxone, whether in pill or strip form. So if you've been taking the pill form of sub the strip is no different. If you are allergic to nalaxone get with your doctor and maybe subutex is a better option for you.

s and 40-60 mgs of percocet everyday not mixing that high but what ever I could get! Vicoden is junk never did anything for me @ all! I would have to taks 20-5mgs or 10mgs just to get the FEELING! Ya it was bad!!

I am on suboxone prescribed by my doctor, well I resently moved out of town and found a new suboxone dr who has prescribed me all these medications to take along with taking the suboxone. I am soooooo scared to take what he has told me to take seeing all these horror storys online about mixing benzos and suboxone. Well if anyone can help me feel better or if they have had this experience also please post keep in mind I have never took any of these medications before other then the suboxone.

d wake up sick the next day and I know with suboxone only, the half life would make it so I had plenty of time to get more so that I wouldn't get sick. I've went bouts of 50 plus hours off of them before and would start feeling withdrawals. I was unable to have enough will power to taper off suboxone correctly. Yes, you took that Sub too soon after the Percocet. Generally, you must be in moderate wd's before you take suboxone. I'm not sure why you did this and I don't recommend taking anymore sub. You'll just have to struggle through while the sub wears off and it may be several more hours from now. It has a longer half life than most opiates other than methadone. Also, if you decide to take some more Percocet, you may not feel any effect because the sub will block it.

Hi, I was on a high dose of methadone and I am using suboxone to deal with the prolonged withdrawals. I don't know if it would be smart to get on to suboxone to help with the 3 or 6 percocet you are currently taking. There Will be unconfortability, but I think withdrawal from suboxone to be worse than the percs. You may want to consult your Dr as he is the one prescribing the Percs.

Ok, so I am ready to stop the percocet but need some advise. I have been taking 2-4 percocets per day for about a year. Like most people I try and stop and can only last a couple days. My question is besides cold turkey is there a method out there that works? I would make sure with the doctor or pharmacist before mixing any opiate with subutex or suboxone. Precipitated withdrawals is not anywhere anyone would want to go! Why are you taking these, and who is prescribing for you? I just want to make sure you're posting in the right forum.

When I looked at the drugs he took I was horrified as I was INSTRUCTED to take three of those drugs for an in-office procedure that I had done back in August of last year, when my anxiety was SKY high and new to me. I remember the Doctor was upset with me because I kept calling her office and speaking with her nurse, doublechecking on the meds and WHY I had to take them.

I've been taking suboxone and have run out. I have a bad toothache and have some vicodine, would that be effective until I get this tooth worked on. I will have my suboxone on Monday again.

I was on Suboxone for alomost a month and there is no way I would drink while taking it. I had read that mixing suboxone and alcohol could/would cause serious breathing problems. You might want to check with your doctor about it before you do.
