Mixing oxycontin and norco

Common Questions and Answers about Mixing oxycontin and norco

oxycontin

Taking 10mg hydro isn't the same strenth, but will lead you down the road to oxy's if you keep taking them. And it depends on the person with there will power, want, mental and physical strenth on what and when there going to quit everyones diffrent...I started taking vic;s and perks here and there and then went all the way up to a 80 and a half a day and couldn't go through a day w/out doing at least a 40 oxy that didn't even get me high it just made me feel "normal" Are you using?
i have teenage neice who is now on methadone becuase of a nasty oxy addiction, i will warn her of the dangers of taking her methadone and mixing it with her drug of choice, which could easly happen to her , i could just see her hanging with her freinds on a friday night and someone giving her an oxy .she is 19 and has been on the methadone for 2 months now. peace !!!!!!!hippy thanx this information could wind up saving her life.
About mixing methadone and klonopins.....well here is my story...... i was on meth, and buying klonopin 2mgs.... well one day , actually night i took like 8 or 10mgs. of them. The next day on my way to the meth clinic i was fine. After i took my 85mgs (at the time) dose, well no later than 10 minutes went buy and i knew i was about to black out. I had to drive 20 minutes to the clinic. so i stopped at a friends in the area to do some coke to wake me up....yeah...i know....
Ok this is my first time in one of these things, so please bear with me. My wife and I have been taking oxycontin the past year or so and it has gotten to the point of a 120-150 mg a day habit of snorting each. It has taken over our lives and has us fighting over money. We have finally come to a point where there is no money for the next 3 weeks and the time has come where there is nothing left to pawn or sell to keep this going any longer.
Well, the week of Thanksgiving, we got a call that she Overdosed on what they say was Oxycontin and Methadone. She basically was barely alive. Was in the hospital for a couple days and sent home, seemingly ok. A week later she went out for her birthday one night, and the next morning she acted totally different. Her brother (my husband) and I went over there Christmas day and she seems like a person who is totally lost (mentally). Is this any kind of indication of withdrawal?
should be held accountable as well as patient. If ang72 was put on a mix of oxycodone, oxycontin, norco and lortab something must be seriously wrong with her. I believe that patient and Dr are both responsible, therefore if Ang72 abused the meds and tested positive for something she shouldn't have she needs help, not to be dropped cold turkey. If she hasn't (false positive, etc) than she should be a part of the decision when and how much to take.
Wow ur frend must be making a killing off u!! u practically pay their rent! Don't they need these pills themselves?? How did u wind up setting up this arrangement..just curious.
he is truly an inspiration to us all...hang in there and Thomas and Wizard can give you their testomonials and help you out with their suggestions......
Good question and I have thought this. But how much Norco can one safely take in a day. I will admit and this is going to be a HUGE step, I am scared to move to a less boosting med. I know what is right and I know my goal and that is to be pill free. But I am scared of the withdrawls from moving to Norco from Oxy. I am gonna do it, I am gonna talk to my Dr. at my next appt. about moving to the Norco from Oxy.
I do remember a few years ago they ( FDA or some govt agency) were talking about taking vics off of the market because of people going into liver failure with taking them and mixing with other actiminaphine containing drugs.I guess upto 7000 mgs a day of actiminaphine is ok but still I dont know why.
I haven't been clean this long in over 3 years and it is both terrifying and exciting. For those who are just under way and facing the w/d head on...hang in there it isn't easy, but it is do able... Like I said I have never faced this part of the w/d phase before, always went back. I do feel like a human again, but my legs still ache and I feel so tired. Is this normal, what have you guys done to fight this? Again Thanks for everyting...
As far as the oxycontin goes, I've wondered about addiction--anyone who uses frequently, whether for pain or fun, gets addicted but some of us start going hog wild and others are able to stay at the prescribed dose, why is that? It's like the definition of crazy--watching oneself go out of control and being unable to stop.
You might need to go to a Dr. vomiting on that amout sounds like it must be something else. I used since I was a teenager for 15 years off & on taking WAY MORE then that and mixing. I cut down to 2/4 V, and a couple others here & there a day the last mo., and I'm only 115 lbs. No vomiting here & I'm in my 1st week. Get yourself checked & let keep me posted.....
I feel better know then when I was on 120mg Oxycontin and 80mg Norco. The suboxone cocktail is all post-op for the last 6 months and I have been told there is no rush to taper as it was up to me.
so after a year and a half of mixing the 'done and the norcos, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I soon found out what methadone wd's were like. it was a big mistake and I had to pay a much higher price to shake the stuff. addicts know alot about drugs, often more than some docs as we seen from some of the stories here.
Right now I have NO Doctor to precribe me the meds. At one time I was on 2 40mg oxycontin 2 20mg oxycontin and 3-4 10mg percoset per day along with klonopin 1mg 2 times a day. To be honest when I was taking my meds the way they should be taken my life quality was great, but I have a problem with abusing them. So at this point I am not sure if I want to try and get back on the meds LEGALLY and try and take them right, or just try to stop altogather.
And like TX Rebecca, I was taking about what she had been taking for the last 2-3 years. Mixing in some Tramadol when I couldn't get the norco. And NOW I'm more hooked on the norco. I'm just doing peachy. (I wish...) Here's my question...I'm on Day 1 of detox, (and here I am at work. Am I nuts working this week? It will be VERY hard to not work this week.) Here's my real question, is there any natural substance that will help with ANY of the w/d symptoms?
First off, I'm not an expert on withdrawals from xanax or anything of that nature. I was on about 200mg a day of oxycontin and am still recovering and doing pretty well. I'm sure you will get many answers to your post that are much more helpful than mine. What I do know is that if you come off too quick it can be VERY DANGEROUS, I believe you can have seizures and your body may go into shock, but I'm not a Dr. and i'm not sure about that.
all replacement opioids do have bad wd's over long usage, including suboxone. I originally started taking it after developing a major norco habit. then I started mixing them. it was a mistake, and I glad to say I have managed to shake it off, albeit I felt lingering wd's for 6-8 weeks. but the worse wd's were the first two weeks. its almost imperative to taper off methadone, or you will have a real rough ride down hill.
i'm on day 3 off of percocets.... my only issue today is the yawning and lazy feeling i have.. here i am the boss of 21 people, and i cant even motivate my self to get going.... this will be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong day...
Opiate, or narcotic pain medications such as Vicodin, OxyContin, Norco, and Hydrocodone are commonly prescribed by physicians to treat pain. Often, patients continue taking their medication as prescribed and become physically dependent upon the drug. This means that even if they want to stop taking the medication, it becomes extremely uncomfortable due to symptoms of withdrawal.
I currently take 1 30mg oxycontin 2x a day and norco for breakthrough pain. I used to just take the norco but as anyone who has been on opoids knows you build a tolerance to these meds. I just switched to the oxycontin 2 weeks ago and I am ok with it but the side effects suck. I get headaches and am constipated all the time. (but I guess that has helped with my IBS some right!?!?!?) My doc is awsome and really listens to me. I do my research and bring it to him.
Like cathy said - throw it in the medhelp search engine and you will have tons of hits. look for the posts by Baron Munchausen and 10356 - and mtgoat911 ...... I quite a decent methadone habit cold turkey. Wasnt fun, but I did it. There is no stigma here - this is an equal oportunity addiction site! Feel free to PM me anytime that you would like. Methadone is a monster to quit.....but even monsters can be slain.........Did you have specific questions? Keep posting and asking.....
In Florida you can go to a pain specialist for a prescription. I used it to wean off of Oxycontin and I hated it. Honestly, I knew I was quitting the Oxys so I figured I would go out with a bang and enjoy my last few days before the rapid detox I did. It did keep me from withdrawel but did not help with the depression and lethargy I always get. How are you doing otherwise? Still beating yourself up? I hope not.
If you are still in withdrawls from oxycontin the opiate is still in your system and it would be mixing the 3 drugs. I would be afraid to take it all together. Good luck, this is not an easy road. My prayers are with you.
b4 my relapse I was kinda waiting for something to happen. Thought I was invincible and strong and could b tempted and come out clean. I was wrong. I didn't have a good plan b4. I thought I see a counselor every week so I'll b fine. After relapsing I hav learned alot.!!! I know now I can't go to the bars and drink bc that leads me back to the pills. I can't b around people who use even if it's only recreationally. I just can't b around that.
HEY!!!!! I am so happy to see the question about the liver thing! I've been really paranoid lately about all the prescription pain killers I do and what it is doing to my liver! I'm only 20 years old and I've been addicted to pain killers for approximately two years. I can't remember the last time I went a day without snorting atleast 2-3 pills.
I have had to go back to using only the Norco and Soma for my pain and there are days that I just can't get out of bed. The patches work!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE BEEN ON OXYCONTIN FOR THE SAME PERIOD AND THERE IS NO COMPARISON, FOR BOTH ADDICTION AND PAIN RELIEF. OXYCONTIN IS A MUCH BETTER PAIN RELEIVING DRUG. OR ASK YOUR DOC TO PRESCRIBE ORAMORPH.
There are periods where I use narcotics about a 4-6 weeks (vicodin and lately oxycontin) then I have to stop and it is so shattering. Many years ago I tried NA and it doesn't work for me. I also do not want to be put on shrink meds by a psychiatrist. What am I doing to myself medically? Because of life circumstances I don't see myself being able to stop soon. What is happening and what can I do?
