Mixing hydrocodone with tramadol

Common Questions and Answers about Mixing hydrocodone with tramadol

vicodin

I've seen some treatment centers advertise that they use tramadol to help with opiate withdrawal, yet I've also read that taking tramadol during opiate withdrawal can INCREASE withdrawal symptoms. Can someone set me straight on this? Thanks in advance.
Hello Andrew, I'm sure you have probably received replies to your posting by now, but I thought I should let you know about my experience with Ultram (tramadol). I was taking Ultram for about 6 months, right after its introduction, for lower back pain from 2 spinal surgeries. During this time, I was also suffering from depression. I was prescribed elevil (tricyclic antidepressant) along with Ultram. These two meds didn't mix!
i have teenage neice who is now on methadone becuase of a nasty oxy addiction, i will warn her of the dangers of taking her methadone and mixing it with her drug of choice, which could easly happen to her , i could just see her hanging with her freinds on a friday night and someone giving her an oxy .she is 19 and has been on the methadone for 2 months now. peace !!!!!!!hippy thanx this information could wind up saving her life.
You really should not need that, on top of everything else you are taking anyways. And mixing hydrocodone with Tramadol can make you sick feeling and throw up, depending on the person. I have read once not to mix the two. But any Tramadol addict like myself would give you the same advise. Good luck.
Or maybe a reaction with mixing the two drugs? The headache only goes away with aspirin, imagine that! It also seems like the headache gets worse when I take the hydro, which I am almost out of and going to be faced with w/d again next week! I don't know if I can take to much more of this madness!!
Sorry I am late to this thread. Check with your pharmacist but to my knowledge you can take codeine and hydrocodone in the same day.Not together of course. I've seen other meds mixed without adverse reactions. An example would be those of us that take, let's say Morphine SR and use hydrocodone for break through pain. But again check with your pharmacist. However your biggest concern is the amount of acetaminophen you consume in 24 hours. Are you seeing a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy)?
I have been taking 4-6 10/500 hyrdros for a couple years now, mixing in (4) 100 mg of tramadol now and then to get me to the next prescription. She wants me to cut my usual dose by 25% every 3 days. I guess I got tired of thinking about pills so ******* much. That, and I don't want my son to find me drowned in the hottub after a seizure. I'm scared for the first time that I cannot enjoy the things I used to do.
I have ankylosing spondylitis, which causes a lot of pain in my back, neck and ribs. I think I can manage the pain with ibuprofen alone, and I want to quit the hydrocodone. I'm so glad I found this great website. It's a good feeling knowing there are other people with the same problem. Here's my question - I'm hoping I can taper down the hydrocodone and avoid a lot of the withdrawal symptoms. For a while I was taking 10 Vicoprofen pills at a time.
Hi 2old. Tramadol can be a big problem, especially when mixing with any opiate, since Tramado (Ultram) is synthetically engineered. I am very surprised you have not had seizures. The best way to detox from Tramadol is to taper the use. Decrease your dose by one pill per day for a couple weeks and repeat that cycle until you are down to a manageable dose or one pill per day, this will significantly decrease any withdrawl's if any.
which did not seem to help with anythings...so I quit taking the tramadol...and had to side effects. I was just wondering, you said that your took tramadol in place of opiates...hydro's, oxy, percs...and went through meth treatment 4 years ago....Just be honest...because to me tramadol is like asprin...but I know that there are many who do get some type of boost or buzz if they take enough....so my question is: In all honesty....which is harder to quit? 1.) Opaites...
Okay, I'm not that experienced in drug abuse and have no experience with tramadol, but I have become addicted to hydrocodone. And I have had personal tragedy and boy I used that excuse to take pills, pills and more pills. Now I'm back at square one, no more norco and trying hard to cut out the ambien and Xanax for sleep. Now I have to still deal with the emotional pain, the pills will not make it go away unless they kill you.
You can do this tramadol warriors! You can beat this! You will do this!

I can see your point in the risk of abuse with hydrocodone, but for someone struggling with years of tramadol risk, i think the method is worth a shot, especially if they have tried tappering down first and were unsucessful. If they become addicted to hydrocodone or codine, ect in the opiate replacement method, they really are only left with one option. commitment to a detox facility. With all the cases of tramadol depedency, I hope they finally make it a controlled nacotic!

Kava-Kava also has a strong effect on the CNS and could cause some problems mixing with Ultram. I tried Kava-Kava for alcohol withdrawal and had seizures all day long. It sucked. I was saved the next day by my doctor who at that time gave me Librium. That was last November. I have since had ove 100 seizures from alcohol withdrawal and seperate seizure disorder apparently covered up by the alcoholism.
Can i mix tramadol 100mg with hydrocodone 10 mg? I can't get my pain under control and I can't even get out of bed. My husband works all the time and I have a 4 year old son to take care of. This is the 6th day that i haven't gotten out of bed. Someone please help with some advice on mixing tramadol and hydrocodone. Thank you.
56 am, still no physical symptoms except inability to sleep, a little runny nose, muscle aches that are tolerable, and here is the one I really have trouble with...horrible depression. I never felt so horribly alone in my life...of course because no one knows that I used and no one knows that I'm withdrawing now as I took a week off to go through withdrawals. I got rid of all the ultram (flushed it all down the toilet). So now there is absolutely no turning back.
I asked this on another site, then read this one...How does Clonidine work for withdrawals? I'm really curious... is this the only drug that would help with the withdrawals? Where do you go to deal with the reasons you take Lortab or whatever to begin with? What if taking this is the only way to deal with what you face each day? Do you get on an anti-depressant instead? Does this solve anything? Does it help? Does anything really help?
My brother is on welfare and the doctors at the clinic have given him the following meds. Tramadol 50 mg, Trazadone 50mg,Amitriptyline 10mg, cyclobenzaprine 10mg, Hydrocodone/APAP 5mg/500mg. In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions?
The pain meds are making my POTS allot worse. I've tried Demoral with Phenagan and Tramadol. Tramadol is the least problematic, but is causing bad POTS issues. I tried not using anything, but can't take the pain. I broke all the bones and my ankles off. Have 10 screws and a plate. Had to have all the ligaments and tendons reattached. Basically, broke my foot off my leg. Now, the blood vessels and nerves have to regenerate into my foot.
I don't know too much about tramadol but I have went through w/ds from methadone.I don't believe the tramadol would help much if at all and tramadol is also addictive and comes with it's own nasty w/ds.
but it's important that the drs know this.....and a lot of drs don't know a whole lot about tramadol. To my knowledge, tramadol doesn't have any benzo chemistry in it that I've ever heard of. I'm glad you are getting your heart rate checked.....it may not delay your surgery at all girl. Just wait and see......but make sure they know the meds you have recently been mixing....as it can/may affect tachycardia (rapid heartbeat). Let us know how you do......ok?
