Common Questions and Answers about Mixing hydrocodone and zoloft

vicodin

I have ankylosing spondylitis, which causes a lot of pain in my back, neck and ribs. I think I can manage the pain with ibuprofen alone, and I want to quit the hydrocodone. I'm so glad I found this great website. It's a good feeling knowing there are other people with the same problem. Here's my question - I'm hoping I can taper down the hydrocodone and avoid a lot of the withdrawal symptoms. for a while I was taking 10 Vicoprofen pills at a time.
I have been really upset with myself for the past couple of weeks. I had a little fender bender and then a root canal and have been abusing the hydrocodone given to me ever since. I thought I was past that. I was doing so well with the Ultram and now here come the narcotics. But before I came to the forum I would have thought I was such a bad person now I know I am a good person with a problem that I need to take care of.

But what of the Xanax? I've nearly run out, and I no longer have insurance. I've been on the zoloft a month and a half, but I can't tell if it's working or not because of all the other stuff. The xanax makes me feel better (less anxious), but I feel like I'm becoming addicted to that. I still smoke pot regularly, and I feel a little better now than yesterday, but I'm confused. Should I try to get more xanax, or will that feed an addiction and make it worse?
k, that's it and the next thing i knew, i was crying, rocking back and forth, rubbing my arms, shaking, RLS out the ying yang, and my whole body would stiffen up and release several times. I don't know what that was. Anyway, you would think that after going through that for 4 days i would not pick them back up. WRONG! picked them back up and haven't stopped since. more so because i'm scared to go through that again. I have the highest respect for all those going through it c/t.
Hi, I have all the same symptoms that you do and the only thing that brings me relief is vicodin or the generic hydrocodone. Of course these are narcotics and can be habit forming, so be careful. I'm still going to doctors trying to figure it all out.. I'm tending towards thinking it is fibromyalsia. But, I do sympethize with you. Sometimes I just feel like jumping off the space needle!!!!
I take 200mgs of zoloft daily. i started taking more and more of the morphine and when i would run out....well i could always get more if i wanted it. But when i had worked my way up to taking 800mgs all at one time. twice daily i decided i was really doing wrong. I had a turn of bad luck and had to go from 800mgs twice daily on thursday to 30mgs twice daily on the following Friday. Needless to say it was very ujnpleasant but i wanted to quit so i just suffered it.
I also smoked cigarettes. One day I went to the doc and told her I was very moody so she prescribed zoloft. The thought of mixing the new med with alcohol scared me cuz of went I went thru with mixing the xanax with alcohol. I quit drinking and smoking in the blink of an eye. I was done and that was that. It was so easy! Then last year in May 2012 I broke my foot. The doc prescribed the hydros. and now I sit here with y'all. I don't know how to stop this.

I seem to remember my last psychiatrist telling me I could not mix Neurontin and Celexa. Celexa is basically the same as zoloft, Paxil, and Prozac. I don't know but it is hard to get hold of my psych doc when not in session. I guess she doesn't get paid for telephone calls. Anyway I am on no anit-depressant only Ultrum, a pain killer, now for the pain which supposedly also has a mood elevator. Neurontin is also a mood stabilizer.
It is working extremely slowly and with setbacks. We have tried Prozac, Effexor, Paxil, buspar, zoloft, and Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is nailing it. No kidding. I had so many other nasty side effects with the others. zoloft made me feel like I was going to shoot out of my skin-I would shake and tremble visibly. Wellbutrin, however, helps with cravings for everything, without so many side effects. (Cigarettes, Vicoprofen, food). It has increased my energy level and picked up my mood.
Welcome ....
I started reading about how dangerous it is going off of hydrocodone cold turkey and having seizures. is this true?
I never have gotten it w/mixing ultram and celexa for some freaky reason. I did cut my celexa pill in 1/2 till I get this ultram thing done with. thanks for your concern.
somedays I was doing good to get up and stagger to the bathroom! Then about 2 years ago my doctor put me on zoloft...and we all know the effect that can have on a sex drive. So that was another battle. All of this was brought on by my addiction....so if I had gotten clean my marriage would have probably survived....but I decided to stay with the drugs and leave him. My love of pain killers is deep. You would never believe the things I've done to get ahold of them. BUT! on another note...
But I had forgotten a little bit of basic wisdom about Xanax and alcohol. Mixing the two can result in paralysis and death. It's there on rxlist.com for any idiot to read. Midnight came around I suddenly felt a little "too" medicated. It takes a lot for me to feel "too' medicated. Therefore, I elected to take a solitary stroll through our neighborhood to clear my head. We live in what amounts to a suburban enclave built into a row of steep hills.
I have been on Ultram (4 back pain), zoloft (anxiety), Resperal and Resderal (sedative and anti-thinking, anxiety), Tylenol w/codeine (back pain), hydrocodine/vicodin (back pain, crohn's), Xanax (anxiety), skelaxin (back pain), prozac (depression), 6mp(crohn's), over the counter sleep aids, herbal homeopathic remedies, you name it....and I wanted to let you know how they affected me...
attitude that opiates give. Unfortunately, its short term and ultimately will make your depression worse. You should really give the zoloft (that is an anti depressant, right?) a chance. Unfortunately, it takes a couple weeks for most antidepressants to kick in. As Hippee said, youre right on a razors edge. Stick with the weed. Quit the opiates while youre ahead.
has 5 mg of hydrocodone and tylenol vicodin es has 7.5 hydrocodone and tylenol and the Norco is 10 mg of hydrocodone and less tylenol then the vics I think it has 325 mg of tylenol. Oxycontin and vics taken the right way are very good pain medication is oxycontin harder to get off? I would assume it is but I have never had to come off of them...they are a schedule 2 narcotic on the controlled substance list where vicodin etc. is a schedule 3....they all have different classifications...
There is a direct correlation between the length of time and amount of hydrocodone taken and the length and severity of withdrawal. So I would expect that by day 7 or 8 you will be feeling much better.
It really did help, but I gained 20 lbs...that really made me depressed! I quit taking the zoloft about 6 months ago and I have lost a few lbs, but I get really upset when the dizziness and blurry vision come back. Like I said though, the Actifed and Afrin do help a lot. The only problem is, is that you never know where or when the allergy attack is going to be set off. The other day we went to a place called Southeastern Salvage...
