Common Questions and Answers about Mixing flexeril and ibuprofen

flexeril

Avatar m tn With Flexeril, yes it works but depends on what you taking along with it. For example don't take it with a benzo like xanax. Baclofen is very good. I even read that in higher doses it can be used for addictions like alcohol and maybe heroin. It was in the Wikipedia site for it. Was very i teresting read.
2027954 tn?1329062151 Flexeril isn't narcotic or addictive. On the other hand, Somas are. Flexeril should be ok to take.
Avatar f tn ER visit xrays showed nothing was broken. I got a shot of morphine, and pain med Rx. I was told to take ibuprofen and rest. I missed a week of work and saw a chiropractor for PT and adjustments. Things were a little better. Contined to have on and off symptoms, so my doctor did prescribe a dose pack of Prednisone, Flexiril and ordered an MRI. Blue Cross insurance denied it. Last night I was back in the ER for the pain. Gave me paid meds and Flexiril and told me bedrest.
Avatar f tn The only thing I am aware of is Ibuprofen 800 mg every 6 to 8 hours. I am not a doctor, just a patient.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, So this all started on Tuesday or Wed (April 7/8) with a dull headache that would come and go at random times. Coffee helped for a bit but it would always come back. I didnt think much of it because I'm used to headaches like this. Come around to that Sunday night (April 12), I was relaxing in bed when all of a sudden the headache turned severe out of basically nowhere, so much so that I was in tears while icing my head .
Avatar m tn Anyway I am already on Valium (for years) and Lamitctal However the ER doc prescribe oxycodone, flexeril, and for some reason ativan? Which I kept telling them i don't understand since i am already on 20mg valiums? They kept saying they will ask and the Doctor said she would update my med information but when i got home I saw they did not update any information and she wrote to take all 3 with no comment on the valium i already been on for years?
Avatar n tn You need to talk to your sub physician. Not the best idea mixing. Try ibuprofen & icing 20 minutes on/off & you should get some relief.
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
1460652 tn?1340248730 then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.
Avatar m tn My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
Avatar f tn Since insurance would not approve the extended release flexeril, I had to stay with the generic and was told BY MY DOC to take 2 tabs 3 times daily for the spasms. I am also prescribed Dilaudid (2 mg. up to 4 times per day), but I don't use more than 1 per day now....pain is not so bad...just the spasms -- especially after PT!!!
1413564 tn?1281822991 I had to go to the ER lst week, they told me that I should take benadryl and ibuprofen together with a medication for nausea if I have it. If you have any prescriptions, they told me I could take my ultram (I have Fibromyalgia) with the benadryl and nausea med (Have it for side effects of FIbromyalgia) and it works like a charm. Weirdest thing too, because I have had migraines for 15 years and this worked pretty fast and didn't make me totally out of it. It was kinda cool.
Avatar m tn I use it as needed when my back gets too tight. I use it with Ibuprofen and the combo works as well as opiates. Here is a link by avisg. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/Zanaflex/show/548835 In fact, it was avisg that told me about it. I like Zanaflex better than Flexeril, because I feel less groggy on Zanaflex.
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
1415174 tn?1453243103 m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar n tn Of course I put it off thinking it would get better and just lived with the pain, taking ibuprofen and exedrin. So a couple days ago I finally broke down and went to the doctor. She was nice and seemed genuinly concerned especially about my tingling arm and 2 fingers. But it through me off when she said I have to do physical therapy and if that didnt work possible surgery. I spent like an hour with this lady explaining to her how severe my back pain was. It literally brings me to tears.
338416 tn?1420045702 I've just started Baclofen, and I'm doing the titrating thing - one pill per day for a week, then two pills, and so on. I wondered if one pill would be enough to stop the hug, but evidently not - just had to take a Flexaril. I guess that's okay, right? Mixing up my muscle relaxers?
Avatar n tn a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Avatar n tn I've taken Flexeril with suboxone (because I had back pain and it seemed to take the edge off) but like the other person said, since you're seeing a Dr. anyway, just ask them. I definitely wouldn't drink and take the Flexeril and be on the suboxone. Do you abuse the Flexeril? I personally couldn't stand how stupid and tired I felt if I took too many (feeling stupid and tired isn't my thing), but some people enjoy that somehow.
Avatar n tn Ibuprofen damages the kidneys more than the liver. But it does affect both of them. That amount of ibuprofen over a period of time can certainly wreak havock on his stomach. And mixing w/beer isn't wise. If he isn't having pain w/the ulcers (assuming that's what it is), he'll need an endoscopy. A camera is inserted into the mouth and down through the stomach to see what's going on. If there are ulcers, he can have them cauterized then too.
