My first pregnancy I had a missed miscarriage. I went for my 18 week scan and found that he baby had died at 8 weeks. I had to have a d&c to be cleaned out.
It's up to you if you want the d&c or they can give you medication to start the miscarriage but I hear that it is very painful.

I am very sorry for your loss. I also had a missed mc. Miscarried end of Oct and finally started bleeding around Thanksgiving. Ended up having a D&C in March. Yes it dragged out for about 5 months. The worse time in my life. Everyone's body is different. If I were to do it all over I'd go in and have the D&C, but thats just me. 5 months after my D&C I got pregnant again and am currently 6 days past my due date - go in Thursday to be induced.

I have not been in your situation but I have been on the other end and have had complications from a d and e and d and c. You just never know with a pg or miscarriage anything can happen. I heard the heartbeat and saw the baby on ultrasound all the way to the 12 week checkup. Went for 16 week checkup and no heartbeat found. went in hospital and tried the pills to help you misscarry and it didnt work. they made me get a d & c. After the d & c was done they said the got the placenta but found no fetus. they searched elsewhere just in case and found none. what happened to it?
I had to have a d&c my doctor didn't give me the option. My baby just didn't grow I didn't have any signs at all just when we went for the u/s the tech seen it. Then my doctor had to do a biopsy for any cancer.
No I didn't have a d&c the DR wont see me until Sept 2 beacuse I'm a new patient.

Hi, I have had 4 missed miscarriages and I am currently pregnant with my 5th.
It would seem from the u/s that the baby stops growing every time between 8-10 weeks I then have to go for a D&C.
I have had private tests done through Bupa and a camera inserted and they can find no reason why I have missed miscarried and told me all I can do is try again.
I am now on my 8th week of my 5th and feel already I have lost it.

I have done 3 u/s the techs sd there was a sac measuring 8 weeks 3 days today but no baby. So the nurse practioner sd she saw a baby which is prolly 10 weeks but no heartbeat. She gave me 3 options 1) go home and let the miscarriage work it's course, insert a pill in my vagina or a d/c. I have not been cramping nor have i seen any blood. Im still having symptoms and8 feel it's too soon to hear a beat. What should I do?
Oh, so sorry about your loss. I had a missed m/c, but had to end up having a d&c with that one. My other 2 m/c have been natural and it took me about a week to start bleeding once I found out that I was going to m/c. I wasn't as far along as you tho, only 6 weeks. Wish I had a more definitive answer for you, but every women is different as well as each m/c, so just not sure. Hopefully you won't have to wait the two weeks....waiting is agony.
Hi, so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage also, then an incomplete m/c followed finally by a d&c. After the d&c, my period returned after 5 weeks. My OB/GYN said my period would return anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks later. If it is 6 weeks now and you are really concerned you might want to speak to your dr. Or then again you could be pregnant again too.....good luck!
I'm so sorry...I'm going through the same thing. I found out my baby stopped growing at 6 weeks as well (it was my 7 1/2 week scan). I went in a week later and still, no growth or heatbeat. I tried to wait it out and am almost 10 weeks (9w3d) according to my last lmp and I have a scan today to see whats going on and a D&C tomorrow. I've had a D&C before and it is an easy procedure (physically).
I had one before.. They put you to sleep and scrape your uterus.. It's not painful but the emotional hurt is.. I woke up saying I didn't want any kids after that.. I had a missed miscarriage, meaning my body never rejected the baby.. Just make sure someone who can comfort you goes with you.. I'm sorry for your lose..
I've been diagnosed twice in the last year (December and July) with a missed miscarriage, both at 11 weeks. One was completed by d&c a few days later, the second I started to finally miscarry naturally a week after being diagnosed (four weeks after baby stopped growing) but ended up being an incomplete miscarriage (placenta didn't separate properly resulting in hemorrhage) and therefore needed another d&c.
In short, my body is desperate to hold on no matter what.
Sorry for you loss in June 2013 I had a missed miscarriage at 9 wks I choose d&c I bleed one day and the next day I was out walking around the zoo with my nephew to try and keep my mind of losing my angel. I was in no pain.

At 9 weeks I went for my first ultrasound and I was told my baby didn't have a heartbeat. They said I was having a missed miscarriage because my body at the time didn't know my baby was dead..I was giving the option of taking a pill, get a D&C which is where they go in and clean your body out. Or let my body naturally do it on its own... I choose too let nature do its course because I DIDNT believe the doctors at all..
Took me 4 weeks after my d&c to stop showing positive on a pregnancy test and another 2 after that to get pregnant. If you are worried contact your doctor and have them check her levels to see if they are rising or falling.

My wife was detected with TB (Tuberculosis) of the uterine in Feb 12 during a laproscopy (to remove her fibroids) and hysteroscopy and has been on TB medication for almost 6 monhts now, which get over in August. However she conceived during May 2012 earlier this year.
