However I saw on the TV that zofran causes birth defects! So of course I did more research. Zofran is a class C drug. Meaning they don't really have proof either way [as to if it does or does not affect babies] it was originally made for people who get nausea while undergoing chemotherapy treatment. So here's my question. Is it safe? I'm not saying my 2 miscarriages were because of Zorn but who knows! Is there any other med you ladies have been prescribed? Did it help?

ve had to take zofran a d phenergan and still lost weight. Last couple of days boob soreness has subsided and I've been able to eat good with no meds . Nausea has subsided. I'm still very fatigued but I'm going crazy wondering if the baby died or is dying. Any thoughts? I'm 29 and have 2 healthy kids and have never had a m/c.

I just want out of this first trimester. This is my second pregnancy. I had a missed miscarriage last November. I was more or less forced to carry my dead baby for 5 1/2 weeks.(horrible doctors with that pregnancy. New amazing doctors this time) That experience weighs on me a lot. I had an ultrasound at 6wks and another at 8 wks. Baby is doing amazing and has a strong heartbeat. My morning sickness is really taking a toll on me. I'm sick multiple times a day.

s really important because I was treated for dehydration and was told it could cause miscarriage....also try a little ginger ale and some clear chicken broth...it was the only thing I could keep down my first 3 months of pregnancy......but please call your doctor...

I am having horrible nausea and vomiting went to doc today and lost 14 pounds . Zofran only thing they can give me. The whole crackers light meal deal ..NADA working ... anyone else same issue? After going to the EL for dehydration the Dr gave me Zofran and Raglan. Combined those 2 helped alot. Before that I tried eating small frequent meals but bread is what really helped me. I tried lemonade ginger tea ginger ale ice chips preggie pops nothing took away the nausea and vomiting but I learned if I did eat frequently then I would throw up bile and dry heave which drained the life out of me more than vomiting food. I hope it goes away soon for you.

I don't know anything about those pills but I was prescribed zofran and they were a lifesaver:) maybe you could ask your doc to switch?

My doc then prescribed me Zofran ( oral ) and promethazine back to back...i mean Zofran every 6 hrs and Promethazine every 4 hrs...it really helped..this week im feeling much better..i can eat and drink now...im still taking Zofran and stopped the Promathezine...its not good to vomit like this...my doc told me Dehydration can cause contraction..which is not good..also try Gatorade drinks instead of water..even chew on ice chips..that helped me lil bit...

I just want to say it is like night and day since they gave me a script for some , started today, I was up all last night vomiting, do not suffer ask your doctor for some!!

Have any of u mommys taken zofran for morning sickness? My doctor prescribed it to me but im nervous to take a medication while pregnant.

Yes zofran is great. Took in beginning of pregnancy and now again towards the end..

So has anyone taken zofran while pregnant? I try to stay away from all medicine except my vitamins but the other night I ate something and I'm guessing my baby really didn't like it because I've been kind of sick since then but the other night the nausea was unbearable so I took one.

Any reviews on zofran ? Im 20 weeks and ive been taking it once a day almost my whole pregnancy to help me keep down food. But now im hearing bad things about it. I havent had an ultra sound yet so im worried about it?

I recently saw that zofran is being sued for causing birth defects.. I've asked my doctor about it and she just says that there is no evidence yet.. I'm trading the pill form and getting thru iv.. I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?

Dmpnonna, I weighed 120 before pregnancy. Minus 40 pounds. I got down to 79 pounds. I went into preterm labor bc my body just simply could not support the weight of my baby. At 22 weeks my baby would not have survived. I was told by so many doctors "you have your baby now, he WILL die" zofran saved his life. If it wasn't for zofran I would weigh 107 now and I wouldn't still be carrying our sweet little boy at 30 weeks. Sometimes drugs are necessary.

So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.
