Avatar f tn Hi ladies I was just wondering if anyone has had a MC without a D&C. Any experiences? How long did it take to recover? How soon did anyone start trying again? Thank you so much!
750579 tn?1234867601 yah i had a mc,im bleeding for 6 days already?the 1st day was really very painful & im soaked w/ blood. The bleeding was becoming lesser as days passed by, i had an u/s that revealed a clear uterus,so my doctor did'nt require me to undergo a D&C.But some people are telling me that it would be better if i'll get a D&C,that i will be pg more easily rather that not having a D&C.What can I do , the doctor told that the D&C is unecessary.
Avatar m tn I have a question, I had a miscarriage on Jan. 15th and they performed a d&c on Jan. 16th. I was only 8 1/2 weeks along. I had went and seen 2 other OBGYN since then and they both were inquiring why a HCG level test was not performed before they did the D&c. Does anyone know if it is common to have that done before performing a d&c??
Avatar f tn I had one back in december due to a miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant. It was really hard emotionally. The procedure itself wasn't painful. I had some cramping and bleeding for a few days afterwards but that was it. I am now almost 15 weeks pregnant and everything is going great. I hope it all works out for you!
Avatar f tn My qustion is that D&C is necessary for every women in order to get pregnant?
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage in November and when I hadn't gotten my period by 8 weeks after I took a test and I was pregnant again without ever having had a full cycle. If you're not looking to get pregnant again soon just be careful because although doctors say it's unlikely, it can happen!
Avatar m tn I'm sorry for your loss. I honestly can't answer that. If she has a fever and feeling sick I would have her be seen asap and if her dr isn't on call I would have her go to the er. You just want to make sure there isn't an infection. It is hard to say wether or not she will need a d and c. The dr's wouldn't recommend it unless truly necessary. Sometimes unfortunately our bodies don't always expell everything and that is why some women end up with a d n c after a m/c.
Avatar n tn D&C stands for dilation (or "dilatation") and curettage -- that is, opening the cervix (dilation) and scraping the inside of the uterus (curettage). It can be done in a doctor's office without anesthesia or in an outpatient surgery center or hospital with epidural, spinal or general anesthesia. When it is done without anesthesia, most women report cramps as the cervix is opened. D&C is a common gynecologic procedure that has many uses.
Avatar f tn I had a d&c with my first pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage at 11weeks..then I got pregnant again 3.5 months after and had a healthy little boy!! Now here I am pg again :) Don't loose hope!!!
1418657 tn?1323451558 It's not probable that you would ovulate so soon after a d&c. Your hormones have to get back to normal and then you have to ovulate. It's not impossible though. If you're body is ready, it should be fine. I've heard of people getting pregnant before their period after a miscarriage so if you do, you'll probably be fine. My doctor said that it should not increase the chances of miscarriage but I know others disagree.
Avatar m tn Hello, I went to the Dr and I was 9weeks and 4 days and there was no heart beat. They said it must have just stopped due to it measuring 9weeks and 1 day. They gave me misoprostol and I took 3 treatments and it did not work. I am waiting to be scheduled for a D&C but this first happened over a week ago and I just want it to be done. Is there any natural way to encourage the body to move faster. I am spotting and will lightly bleed but no heavy clotting.
Avatar f tn My sister took a pregnancy test about 10 weeks ago and it was postitive. The following week she went to the Doctor and confirmed the pregnancy with a blood and urine test. Everything was going great. She had the normal morning sickness, and had all the signs that she did with her first child. About a week ago she expreienced light bleeding, the Dr. said it was normal. Last night it became heavy and she went to the emergency room.
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage at the beginning of april last year and they didn't want to do a D&C unless necessary. My doctor wanted me to pass it naturally, then in the middle of april I started losing alot of blood and clots(worst experience emotionally in my life) I was taken to the hospital and they did it that day. I waited a little while for myself to heal I didn't want it to happen again.
Avatar f tn What is a d/c iv seen it mentioned a few times here and I just would like to understand what people are talking about ?
Avatar f tn I had to have a d&c my doctor didn't give me the option. My baby just didn't grow I didn't have any signs at all just when we went for the u/s the tech seen it. Then my doctor had to do a biopsy for any cancer.
Avatar f tn Like if... Your baby dies and you have a miscarriage. They dilate you then clean ya up there.

Avatar f tn I m/c on nov 26 and had my d&c on nov 28 i still feel lil depressed idk why but @ the sametime i wanna try again to have other child mixing feeling is anybody else going thru this issuses
Avatar f tn Those of you that were told you had a miscarriage and the dr suggested a d&c (but was completely wrong) can you share your stories. What made you not go through with the d&c? At how many weekd did you hear a heartbeat?
Avatar n tn Women don't know when they have a missed miscarriage. That's when the baby doesn't make it but your body doesn't realize it. Usually a d&c is given when there is a missed miscarriage. Though even without a d&c the fetus should pass on it's own once the body realizes what's going on. However, if you feel like your doctor was wrong, you can always seek a second opinion.

This discussion is related to high hcg after second d and c -worried..
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for the advice I am waiting for a call back from the doc to see if it is o.k. to wait one more week.
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage last year at 15 weeks and had a d&c. I felt it was the easier option for me then actually going through labor pains with an induction. The hospital experience wasn't awful (the dialation method was uncomfortable, they inserted seaweed stick things in begin the process the night before the procedure, not sure if that is the norm, sorry if tmi) and the recover was easy for me, but the worst thing for me was the depression that came with losing a baby.
Avatar f tn In the past few years, it's become more common for doctors to offer medications to manage a miscarriage when hCG results or ultrasound confirm the diagnosis of missed miscarriage or blighted ovum. This gives women an alternative to D & C or a potentially long wait for a miscarriage to begin naturally.
Avatar f tn Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, it may take a "few" weeks for the miscarriage to occur naturally.
Avatar m tn Last week I found out I was pregnant, and the u/s showed a 6 week fetal pole w/an 8 week yolk sac and no h/b. We took a 2nd blood test to measure HCG levels, and found they dropped slightly in two days. My doctor is having me do another u/s and blood test tomorrow for final confirmation that this is a non-viable pregnancy, and then wants to set up a D&C. Needless to say, I have never been so devistated.
