Miscarriage ultrasound at 4 weeks

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage ultrasound at 4 weeks

miscarriage

Hi ladies I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant this is my third pregnancy my first two ended in miscarraiges at 6 weeks. My dr did an ultrasound at 4 weeks 4 day and didn't see anything at all! Has anyone else had an ultrsound that early?
I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago. I took 4 pregnancy tests in the last 3 tests and all are positive. The last time my levels were checked I was at 200 and that was 3 1/2 weeks ago. Four days before that they were at 6000. Could the positvie pregnancy tests be from that or could I be pregnant? The doctor scheduled an ultrasound. Could there still be tissue left and that is why it is positive? Would I have some kind of symptoms?
i was going to my 20 weeks scan to find out what my baby was ( which i was so excited) and at the scan i got told that my baby had saldy passed away 4 weeks earlier, but at the midwife appoinmnet at 18 weeks the babys heartbeat was 120-125( according to the midwife) but the hospital said its been died for 4 weeks. i had no cramps, bleeding no signs what ever to even indercate that some thing was wrong. i found out on thur 18th aug and i was in hospital on the 19th aug for a planned miscarriage.
I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks -- and the DR told me within minutes of seeing no heartbeat during the u/s it was due to a "chromosone abnormality" -- how can she be sure this is what it is without further testing? She indicated there was a lot of fluid around the baby. She also said this is the most common of miscarriages (is that true?) and happened at a time when majority of miscarriages occur.
I'm sorry for the delay in response--was very ill for awhile I usually tell my patients to expect their next period within 4-6 weeks after a miscarriage. Since you were fairly far along, your hcg levels may have been fairly high. Your body won't ovulate until all the hcg is cleared. Waiting another week or two wouldn't hurt, but after that, a call to your doctor would be a good idea. Sometimes I like to jump start the cycles with a 5 day course of Femara or Clomid.
Hello. My wife is now just at 7 weeks pregnant. She had a trans vaginal ultrasound on Friday which would have been right at 6.5 weeks. We are sure that she got pregnant on Feb. 24 or 25th as I traveled a lot and we didn't see each other much other than then. I'm worried because when we went for her scan they didn't see anything at all. Everything I've read says that a trans vaginal scan will show SOMETHING by 6.5 weeks.
I too had a miscarriage at 16 weeks last September. I am going thru another miscarriage at 16 weeks right now. I have MTHFR mutation which causes blood clots. Doc believed that was the cause of all my miscarriages (4 total) not including this current one. They put me on Lovenox and everything went well. I went in for a check up 2 weeks ago and was fine. Well two days ago at 16 weeks check up, they found no heartbeat.
How common is miscarriage at 11 weeks? I havehad 3 miscarriages since Nov 2011. #1 heart stopped beating around 8 weeks, #2 fetus stopped growing around 5-6 weeks, #3 hcg levels would not rise after 4weeks. I am now 11 weeks and have had 2 ultrasounds where the heart beat is strong and the baby is developing fine.
I had a natural miscarriage at 11.5 weeks on 1/31/2006. I am trying to get a better handle on it I guess. I am worried that the hot tub I was in at 9 weeks caused this, my hcg levels were on target until then. I never had an u/s until I was in the ER with contractions and clots/ heavy bleeding on 1/31. I also have had 2 c-sections and endometriosis, I wonder if anyone has similar problems or any ideas for me?
It's just so frustrating...Last November 2009 we lost our son, Cole to SIDS. He passed away at only 4 months 4 days...I can't even begin to describe how that makes someone feel...So after about 5 months me and my hubby talked about the thoughts of another child. Let me tell you its tough as tough can get to even talk about that when you lost a beautiful perfect healthy baby boy...
You can have implantation spotting for up to 8 weeks. I had some slight spotting at 5.5 weeks. You should be fine. If the spotting continue, call your OB.
Hi girls, I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago at approx 4 -5 weeks pregnant. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests in the last few days and they are both positive (most recent one darker than the first). Of course I'm beyond excited because I have a history of PCOS and ovulation problems so it was a miracle we conceived the first time let alone AGAIN just a few weeks later. Are there any other mums who've had or are experiencing a similar situation? I'd love to hear about your experiences.
at least 4 weeks..the usual average is 5-6 weeks...and an ultrasound at 1 weeks you would not see anything..not much at 4 or 5 weeks most likely not much either at 6 weeks but possibly...
We were about 162 I think at 8 weeks, now 148 at 17 weeks.
I had at least 5 between finding out I was pregnant and 18 weeks. Starting at 18 weeks I have an ultrasound every 4 weeks.. and I will start weekly monitoring probably by week 30. It's a lot, really lucky my insurance has been so good. I am high risk though for multiple reasons.
Chances go down at 12 weeks but not away as you will see on this forum. We lost ours at 13 weeks 4 days and had an ultrasound at 12 weeks 2 days and everything was fine and 13 weeks 4 days it was not. We had two ultrasounds back to back because they were doing the first trimester screeneing and the baby wouldn't turn for them so they told me to come back in a week. He/she was moving fine and had a strong heartbeat but just wouldn't cooperate.
Is it possible for a babies heartbeat not to be seen on ultrasound at 10 weeks?
I went on the doctor forums and he calculated me at 4 weeks and 6 days.. When I go for my u/s next friday should I expect to see anything yet?
I'm 20 weeks, and I've had a very smooth, problem-free pregnancy. I have had a sonogram at 10 weeks, 14, weeks, and 17 weeks, and doctor said baby is very healthy. The blood work they did at the last appointment came back fine as well. I've had a significant little pregnant belly, and hungry about every 4 or 5 hours, tender breasts but not too bad. I felt the baby kick for the first time about a week and a half ago, and heard the kicking with a stethescope.
I went through a "missed abortion" twice and both times it was an awful waiting game. The first time I had a D&C at 12 weeks when we learned the embryo had stopped growing at 8 weeks. The second time I started spotting at 6 weeks and the docs kept getting inconclusive U/S results. At 8 weeks (still with a full set of pregnancy symptoms) the embryo looked like 5 weeks with no heartbeat and we finally gave up and did a D&C.
Hi I'm 36 with 2 children 11 and 12. I had a miscarriage last year at 15 weeks and now I'm pregnant again. To ease my mind the doc sent me for an ultra sound that showed me at 5 weeks 6 days but no heartbeat, went back 2 weeks later an said now my ultrasound showed 6 weeks 2 days, she didn't see a heartbeat but made me hold my breath and said she counted the baby's heart and it was great.
I understand what you mean when I had my miscarriage I had a bad feeling from day one and did not want to tell anyone I was pregnant and then it ended in a miscarriage at 10 weeks so I finally understood the feeling I had that eveything was not alright. I hope all goes well for you good luck.
I also set little mile stones for myself that I could look forward too lime the 2 month mark at 8 weeks, 12 weeks when the miscarriage rate drops..etc. little goals and lots of distractions!
From start to finish from my last miscarriage (8/17) miscarriage it was 4 weeks. Everyone is different. I'm sorry for your loss.
I started mis carrying at 4 am and the bleding was ridiculous! I passed what I was SURE was the gestational sac, only to find out at the ER that it was only a clot. I was told I had excessive bleeding and it was a good thing that I came in. They stopped the bleeding and preformed the D&C. So, Its over, its official. I am no longer pregnant. It shard to believe, it had become my identity for 2 months! I want to try again but terrified of going through this again.
I will start at the beginning, first of all I would like to say that I have 4 healthy babies ages 9, 7, 18 months, and 7 months. I just miscarried 2 nights ago at 12 weeks along (1st miscarriage). When I was 9 weeks along I started bleeding VERY heavily, my husband called 911 and I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, the doctors told me that I was not having a miscarriage but would not not tell me what was going on.
