1414894 tn?1288769040 As dydrogesterone helps regulate the healthy growth and normal shedding of the womb lining, it may be used in the treatment of menstrual disorders such as absent, irregular or painful menstrual periods, infertility, premenstrual syndrome and endometriosis. It may also be used to minimise the overgrowth of the womb lining due to oestrogen (the main female sex hormone) in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) following menopause.
Avatar n tn When you said surgery, that made me wonder if you are located in the UK? If so, I doubt that Free T3 is included. You may have to push the doctor hard to get that done.

Avatar f tn Following a routine blood test recently, my TSH was really low and they dropped it to 175mcg. However, I have just had an early miscarriage and my TSH is now at 87!!! My GP has said it is so high. I feel awlful, and if there was a lethel injection infront of me, I would have it. I am so exhausted. I am moving around on my hands and knees. I couldn't even be bothered to speak yesterday and I dpopped my cup of coffee. My GP has done some urgent bloods.
Avatar m tn It seems strange how Doctors in the UK are not allowed to actually prescribe this medication, yet know the benefits. Maybe more research is required.
Avatar n tn I have finally been reffered to a gynocologist since my miscarriage on Oct 30. I will be seeing him in a few hours and would like to get some ideas on what questions I should ask him to make sure this does not happen to me again? I would love your input plz?
Avatar f tn Calling all in London area! UK. I live in Ilford and need a good thyroid specialist. I used to see Prof. Maisie at Guy's iin London but that was about 25 years ago. My nearest private hospital is Spire Roding, Redbridge or Holly house, Buckhurst Hill. I'll go to NHS hosp. in Central London with pleasure but round here, no thanks unless someone has had a really good experience with a local specialist (get in touch with the Guiness Book Of Records!). I'm not being picky or a snob.
Avatar n tn I believe typically in the UK treatment is a single, large dose of metronidazole but this appears to be for more "superficial" infections. Thanks.
1580085 tn?1400940838 As I said before, we see a lot of members from UK who have a very hard time getting proper testing/treatment because of NHS standards. Many have had to seek treatment privately, or get their doctor to make a special request....... not sure how that works. You originally started out on 50 mcg levo; have you gone up to the 100 mcg yet?
9624973 tn?1413016130 Hello guys, i haven't posted in a while, i had my usual 6 months appointment in UK where i reside at the moment and the doctor said that i have some signs of fibrosis, but at the moment i don't need treatment, as it's not in their guidelines to treat if there are no serious liver problems. And gave me another appointment over 6 months period. They don't share any specific data or results with me and that's making me very uncomfortable as i only know what they tell me.
Avatar n tn She was told at the time that they would not operate due to the size of the tumor so they would try and shrink it first using carboplatinum/taxol line of treatment. Her original cat 125 was 480 which was taken early on before she was even diagnosed with PPC in February. She has had 6 treatments of chemo, 2 ultra sounds and 2 cat scans cat scans during this time. We know it was aggressive from the fact that it had grown from 2.

4920659 tn?1371061785 Ok ladies. I am now in week 12 and after 5 previous m/c this has certainly helped me relax. I'm feeling less sick & more energetic but getting banging headaches. Just wondered if anyone else is same as me? Or from the uk? I've got my second scan tomoz as i'm considered high risk but for some reason i'm scared... just worried incase theyre like oops sorry cant find a heartbeat. I know i'm being paranoid but i really want this baby to be ok!
Avatar f tn Thank you ladies. My partner has had chromosome testing on his sperm and it came back as normal. He is not a CF carrier either. However, TESE sperm is notoriously immature. I just can't understand how it managed to fertilise my 40 year old eggs yet didn't fertilise eggs from a donor under 30???? Here in the UK the donor is anonymous so I can't find out whether she got a BFP from her share.....or had a MC.
1035252 tn?1427227833 I know the nhs here in the uk is cash strapped as it is, but I think the 3 miscarriage rule stinks before they will test. I lost my first 2 pregnancies, 1 at 16 weeks due to a birth defect, 2nd a 8 weeks, missed miscarriage and my 3rd at 6 weeks a natural miscarriage. Because our first baby was not miscarried we were told you will need to lose another pregnancy before we will consider testing and then it depends on the circumstances.
