Miscarriage one twin

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage one twin

miscarriage

Avatar f tn Happy Mommy- it is not uncommon for one twin to pass away in the womb in early pregnancy and is often termed Vanishing Twin Syndrome. When that happens you can bleed but the baby's body is absorbed back into your body at this young age. If you were further along, close to term, you'd more than likely deliver early to prevent anything from happening to the other twin as your body cannot absorb the deceased baby. It's no comfort to hear any of this, I know. I'm so very sorry!
Avatar f tn and 2nd of all yes i have heard of losing one baby and carring on to carry the other one full time. im so sorry you lost one , now what you need to do is stay positive and (try) not 2 worry , im sure you will be ok as the baby has a heart beat , my friend lost one and went on to carrry her boy full time. then 3 mts after that she fell preg again with twins and carried them full time. i hope it goes ok for you hun keep us updated .
Avatar f tn I agree with you except that one twin does not absorb the other in vanishing twin. (One twin simply fades, and in the end, the mom's body absorbs it.
Avatar f tn My friend was told she had a miscarriage to later find out that she was still pregnant and had lost one of twins.
Avatar f tn Twins run on my moms side. I was suppose to be a twin but my twin didn't form. I thought I would have twins but so far each pregnancy has only been one baby. So either my daughter or this baby will have twins. (2nd baby was a miscarriage).
Avatar f tn My partner was a twin and his younger brother was also a twin, and neither of their twins made it. However, think positively! There are lots of twins in the world who DO make it....there are multiple births of several babies and they make it. Worrying about it will not help, and the stress can have an adverse affect on your babies. My advice is to relax, stay healthy, and cross any tough roads if you come to them, and not before. Good luck.
Avatar f tn As everyone else has suggested, they should be checked again to see for sure what they are doing. But generally, if they drop, that usually indicates a miscarriage or impending miscarriage. The other possibility is that it could be what is called "vanishing twin." This is where you were pregnant with twins, and then one "vanishes." Basically, you lose one twin. This sometimes does cause bleeding, and it does explain the drop in hcg without total miscarriage. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I'm 8 weeks and 5 days, due date 24th Feb:) I had a scan yesterday and I'm so relieved to see the babys heart beating away because I had a miscarriage three months ago and I haven't been able to enjoy my pregnancy up until now ... There are on the screen was a second sac but the Dr couldn't find the baby , she thinks it never started to develop. Has anybody experienced this or experiencing this ?
Avatar f tn Maybe its my age but im scared i may be xarrying twins. My husband is a twin his dad is a twin his dad has two sets of twin siblings and his mom has a set of twin siblings. Not that i wouldnt mind but with one baby i was absolutely huge. Just a lil freaked out is all. First ultrasound on the 27th.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm pregnant with my first child. My twin sister had two miscarriages and I'm currently in week 9. Im constantly preparing myself mentally for the miscarriage in case it should occur, so that I don't become too sad and sensitive about it. I have not experienced any spotting or any weird Signs. Do I have reasons to be worried? Is my amount of weeks making it more stabilised?
Avatar n tn Nothing I have read about VTS indicated that this type of thing would happen, but the u/s did not have any findings to help with the diagnosis. Could this have been the complete miscarriage of the one twin? How concerned should I be that this could just be the begining of a miscarriage of the remaining fetus?
Avatar f tn i had a miscarriage on jan 10th i took a pregnancy today feb 28,2010 it was possitive...
Avatar f tn However the sac that one twin is in is still too small, all the doctors are doing now is monitoring them with regular ultra sounds. It is very hard to stay calm. The twin in the bigger sac was easier to see because of the space around it and he looks just like a teddy bear. Which the technician said is normal. I go for another scan in a week - either the sac has grown & it will be fine or it hasn't...
Avatar f tn Your body kicks into a miscarriage because chromosomes don't go together obgyn explained when dna doesn't fit right together that is what happens.
Avatar f tn I have heard you can miscarry just one twin and still have a healthy pregnancy with the other. I went in at 8 weeks for some spotting but everything still looked fine both babies were moving around and heartbeats were good. They said the spotting could be caused from the placenta being right up on my uterus and just put me on pelvic rest. I don't have any more spotting now and my apt and ultrasound is tomorrow. I'll be 10 weeks and 5 days hoping everything is still going good.
Avatar f tn 10w 5d Ftm it seemed like everything was going perfect at my first appointment (6 weeks) and just yesterday I went in for the second ultrasound and the doctor mentioned the possibility of twins, one of the babies was measuring at 8 weeks which was a bit smaller than the other one and when they checked for a heartbeat there was nothing ): I got sent to the hospital for bloodwork as I will be having a miscarriage soon for the deceased baby its a lot to take in from one day to another but I'm t
Avatar f tn Its possible to have a miscarriage without having signs. If levels drop it means it is not a viable pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I still grieve the loss of my one twin, as I am almost 11 weeks now. I found out I had twins/lost one twin about 2 1/2 weeks ago. My doctor said that this shouldn't affect my other baby because it happend before the 12th week. I'm just trying to concentrate on my one surviving baby and monitor him/her closely. What else can I do besides to stay positive for by baby and my 1 year old son?
Avatar n tn For any female, the risk of miscarriage in 1:5 One miscarriage alone doesn't increase those risks. Twin pregnancy does carry more risk, but we can't say your odds for sure. It depends really on why you miscarried before, the type of twins, how many weeks you were, family/medical history, etc.
Avatar f tn To my surprise There are 2 sacs but only one baby can be seen but no heartbeat. Im concerned because i have had several children and never had this to occur. Is it possible there is a twin and is it too early to detect heartbeat?
Avatar f tn What do you mean one twin does well? they say with twins one twin always weigh more than the other but im just scared...
Avatar f tn I agree with the other poster. I'm also wondering if you could have a vanishing twin...that would cause your hCG levels to temporarily drop while the sac for the remaining twin grew. so...hang tight and ask for further testing in a week...both blood work (hCG) and an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn This pregnancy i had two sacs and only one one baby. It is called the vanishing twin syndrome and is actually very common when you find out early. Wait the 7 days and see if you get to hear the other babies heeartbeat. Keep us updated.
1052633 tn?1311872678 I only ever put 1 back each time so knew both pregnancies were finished. So you may be losing one, my dr told me about vanishing twin syndrome but also the other embryo just gets absorbed by the placenta or "just disappears" so bleeding isnt always involved. Also bleeding is common in early pregnancy doesnt always mean miscarriage, unfortuntley it was with me, keep getting monitered if you can and I pray twins or at least one embryo survives.
Avatar f tn Im 16 weeks pregnant with twins and haven't really gained much weight maybe 5pds any one else pregnant with twins or had a twin pregnancy already? What was it like and did you deliver vaginally or csection?
1000480 tn?1266592599 m about 12 wks disappearing twin risk is gone and now its just staying healthy and hoping there isnt a miscarriage with one or both. Babies were already fighting and kicking eachother. Sibling rivalry starts early I suppose. I'm waiting to see if my employer will work with my new restrictions or if they will put me on LOA. Either way is fine. Well thanks again. Your boys are really adorable by the way. Are they identical or fraternal?
