Avatar f tn I'm so sorry that you have had to go through that... I really don't know anything about this. But this will bump it up so maybe somebody will see it that knows more about it. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. I hope you can find some answers though.
Avatar n tn You are heading in the right direction by having the karyotyping done. That will shed a lot of light on whether the issue is chromosomal or not. Depending on what the test reveals will decide where to go from there. Did they say how long it will take to get the results back? I think mine took 3 wks. Please keep me posted. I hope they find an answer soon for you. Mc's are so painful to bear. I am sorry for your losses.

Avatar n tn I am 24 and just had a miscarriage at 14 weeks. The test results came back as Trisomy 16. I am so scared to go get the blood work done for fear that I may never have kids. It took us 6 months to conceive and now I just feel hopeless. Is trisomy 16 genetic? Do I carry it? Does my husband carry it?

7136794 tn?1388422372 Since April 2012, I have had 3 miscarriages. The 1st loss was at about 10 weeks, the 2nd was at 27 weeks & the most recent (October 2013) was at 17 weeks. No testing was done on 1st loss. The 2nd loss was result of IUGR, but why the baby was growth restricted was never found out & karyotyping came back inconclusive. My Dr. said the 3rd baby looked to be as if he was starting to be growth restricted as well. My Dr.
Avatar n tn Have you or your partner had blood karyotyping done? It looks into your chromosomes...it may be the reason behind 9 pregnancies no babies. We had same problem and found answer in that test.
873190 tn?1304812975 I am 39 years old and I am in the process of having my third consecutive miscarriage. At six weeks vaginal us, empty gestational sac. And again today (six weeks six days) still empty sac. I'll go back next week to confirm blighted ovum and probably do a d&c. We started seeing a specialist after my second miscarriage and he ran ALL of the blood work. The whole shabang, and found nothing that would indicate any problems.
Avatar m tn After complete examination and Karyotyping once the diagnosis of Down’s syndrome is confirmed the doctor may be able to give a certificate stating that your cousin suffers from Down’s syndrome with associated physical and mental disabilities. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and best luck!
Avatar n tn i can relate on whats going on with you right now..coz like you i have a poor response to injecticbles..my RE ask me to get a karyotyping to tests to rule out why i dont ge a good response..she has this kind of thoght that maybe i have pof too..like you sumtyms i want to stop this kind of work up..but ive realized that we must not lean on our own understanding..God has abette plans to all of us who experience difficulty..we must continue to move on until we can finally see the answer..
Avatar f tn 8) so although it is in the normal range it is still quite low.We will be going for karyotyping to determine whether this is caused by a genetic disorder. We went to a good urologist but he seems to think that his infertility is not because of the varicocele and he thinks that my husband has sertoli cell only syndrome. I have no idea as to why he came to that conclusion since the only way to know if he has SCO is through a testicular biopsy which my husband has not done yet.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry for ur loss, it's such a painful experience and one that will always live with you. I have no children and I had 2 missed miscarriages! Missed miscarriage are the worst as you don't find out till ur 12 week scan and u think all is going smoothly. I never bleed and I still had all the pregnacy signs, so i had no idea that my baby died at 5 weeks! made me feel sick.
Avatar f tn I had 5 miscarriages plus an ectopic before we had our daughter and then had a miscarriage between our daughter and our son that was born on Tuesday. Don't give up. Have the doctors do some blood tests to see if there is anything that you may have that is causing miscarriages. I had to take folic acid, baby aspirin, fish oil, prenatals and some other prescriptions in order to carry to a viable age. Maybe try this and it may helo you as well.
2129701 tn?1335494396 I am so sorry about your losses! You have been through so much :-( Have you had the tissue tested? When I had my 2nd miscarriage at 9 weeks, I paid privately to get the tissue tested. It's called Karyotyping. When I had my 1st miscarriage I just thought I was unlucky, but with having a second one I was seriously worried. I found out the baby died due to have 69 chromsomes, rather than the normal 46! It's call Triploidy.
Avatar f tn Amniotic fluid contains foetal skin cells that have sloughed off. These skin cells are taken to a laboratory and tested. Both FISH testing and karyotyping directly analyze the foetus’s chromosomes and determine whether or not the foetus has Down syndrome or another trisomy. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
760797 tn?1303264540 With my loss at 12wks, they did karyotyping to see if there was anything genetically wrong (very common at my age). My loss was caused by a ruptured placenta. Depending on the cause, would determine what type of specialist you may need, if any. Did they say when the baby stopped growing? Did they do any tests? I am really sorry for your loss. It is hard to get through and it certainly makes us scared to try again. In most cases, it is not a recurring problem.
879349 tn?1240355871 Destiny_Hope, I am super sorry to hear about your losses. I am 39 years and am having my third miscarriage right now. All first trimester. My RE has also done every test in the book, including the karyotyping and chromosomes on me and hubby and found everything normal. This last time I was on progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin, more as a precaution rather than definite preventative from the testing.
Avatar f tn Hello. I too have had 2 miscarriages. First one at 18 weeks, second was the next pregnancy at 17 weeks. After the second I was tested for MTHFR and it was positive. I have the heterozygous form. I have been tested for many other thrombophilias and they all came back negative but the strange thing is that my PTT (partial thrombin time - a general test in which they see how long it takes your blood to clot) was elevated.

Avatar f tn I HAD A MISCARRIAGE AND GOT PREGNANT BEFORE I COULD GET A PERIOD IM KIND OF WORRIED SHOULD I BE?
2172810 tn?1337380147 Honey, there is almost nothing you can do to cause a miscarriage. Number one reason for first trimester miscarriage is a chromosomnal abnormality. Second reason is a medical issue or enviromental factors such as drug use, smoking or heavy drinking. That being said, in second and third trimester rough sex is probably not a great idea. But early on? No worries.
Avatar f tn Was it heavy bleeding or spotting? You really can't tell unless you go get a quantitative HCG test ran and you really need more than one in order to tell what is going on.
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage on April 25 and now I feel like I am not gonna b able to get pregnant again!!
Avatar n tn It was most likely a period and not a miscarriage, if it was a miscarriage, you might get a faint positive on a HPT, so you can take a pregnancy test just to see if you're even getting a faint positive, but it was most likely a period. As for the discharge, if you were early on it's unlikely you'd be leaking anything, most women, if they do leak, don't leak colostrum until late third trimester.
Avatar f tn They usually only give you antibiotics thru an IV during the surgery, not afterwards unless you get an infection. As for recovery, you will probably bleed and cramp for one week (i did) and you might see a few blood clots but its nothing to worry about, its a good thing it means your bleeding is stopping. And i got my period back 5 & 1/2 weeks after the d&c. Im sorry for your loss! My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and d&c, i know its difficult.
