Hi kelly...did they order a new blood test. Sometimes numbers don't rise like they shoudl in early pregnancy, particularly for older woman, and then they take off...as far as the u/s goes, my doctor told me as well as 4 others, that you can;t see anything on an u/s until your numbers are between 1500 and 2000 so it sounds like to me if your numbers were just 1400 than they wouldn't have seen anything...are you sure you are 6 weeks pregnant?
Hi this is my third pregnancy, my first ended in a missed miscarriage, then I had my son. After trying for six months I am now 7 weeks pregnant. For the first couple of weeks I was nauseous, waking up early to pee, and my breasts were slightly sore. I am still vomiting, but not getting up to pee in the morning (I also had a UTI that is now being treated), I my breasts are not sore at all to touch though I get an occasional twinge in them.
Is there anything that is happening that would make you concerned about m/c. I think that all women have that fear, especially early on in pregnancy. It's natural. If you spend too much time in this forum, you will probably make yourself nuts and stress is not good for you now. I have only been pg once and it ended in m/c at 9 weeks (just last month). I had an irregular ultra sound, so I knew the chances were 50/50. At my 2nd ultra sound we knew for sure that it was going to happen.
I had an early miscarriage at 4 1/2 weeks and when I went to the doctor 2 days after bleeding began my preg test came up neg. The cramping definately felt different than a normal period and I did have clots on the 2nd day of bleeding. So, it is possible that you could have had a miscarriage, but it could have easily just been a wacky period as well.
It's common to have spotting/light bleeding in early pregnancy. NO ONE HAS REGULAR PERIODS IN PREGNANCY EVER!!! If you're bleeding heavily with ANY pain you should be seen by a dr IMMEDIATELY. You can have bleeding throughout your pregnancy, but it's NOT a regular period.
I am 5w4d. My previous pregnancy resulted in a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks so my dr is taking extra precautions this time. I just had my progesterone and hcgs done. My progesterone was 22 and my hcgs as of yesterday were in the 7000s which she said is awesome and she has no concerns thus far. After reading your post 7000 seems high. Just looking for feedback. I have had two healthy pregnancies prior to the miscarriage and am just a little nervous this time around.
I go back in a weeks time to see if a heartbeat can be detected in case I am just too early to see anything. Nurses told me to prepare for a miscarriage to happen, they gave me a little hope and said next week could be a whole different story but from what they can see and they aren't normally wrong that I will lose with baby. Can anybody relate?
For those of you ladies who somehow went into early labor, what were the first initial signs? Did you think something else was wrong other than labor? What was the experience?
Thank you everyone. I have been taking it real easy and trying not to stress out. I find out tomorrow what my hcg levels are. They were at just over 1000 on Thursday. The Dr said there is not much they can do at the moment being so early in the pregnancy. He knows I'm worried about my miscarriage 2 months ago and is advising me to bed rest until we see the hcg levels.
We had been in a honey for month, got signs of pregnancy like spotting of brown discharge, tender and swollen breasts on third week of January. But unfortunately, my period for January arrived earlier for 2 days with cramps (usually happens when I have my period)..was it a miscarriage or just an early period? Thanks!

t bleeding heavy and having horrible cramps, everything could be just fine. Some women spot in early pregnancy and are fine. For others, like myself, spotting is not a good sign. I've had 2 miscarriages, and you can't help but worry when you become pregnant again. Has she had her HCG levels taken? As long as that continues to double every 2-3 days, that is a good sign. It may be too early to do an u/s depending on how far along she is.

I've had some bleeding during early pregnancy too - adgal's right - 1/3 of all women bleed some in early pregnancy & many go on to have a healthy pregnancy. The only thing to do is to have the scan. That will tell more than the hcg numbers that there's healthy pregnancy growing. Of course it's best to do the scan when the hcg numbers are a certain number - I think it's around 2,000 before anything's seen - can't be quite sure on that number.
