Miscarriage causes cervix

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage causes cervix

miscarriage

Any injury to the cervix can definetely cause an incompetent cervix. Incompetent cervix will definetely cause a miscarriage. Usually in the second trimester. When was your loss? Any thing that can cause incompetent cervix is second trimester D&C's. When the cervix is manually dialated, it causes thinning and stretching that is unnatural. How did your cervix get ruined from a pap smear? I have never heard of that before. I would be curious to hear about that.
The most common reason is if you have sexual intercourse and irritation of the cervix causes a little tear. Not enough that it comes flowing out, but like when you urinate or you wipe, you might see it on the tissue. Unless you are passing bright red blood and clots, brown spotting is pretty harmless. Brown spotting is perfectly normal in early pregnancy. One reason for this type of spotting is called implantation bleeding. This occurs approx.

Can your doctor determine if you have a weakened cervix before a miscarriage happens due to this. I am just trying to rule out anything that could possibly happen to me. I am in my 9th week and will see the Dr in my 12 week. Can he check to make sure my cervix is normal or not?
*Another example of judgement-sailorswife* she isn't asking us what we think about what she is doing or who she is doing it with. She is asking about the causes of an incompetent cervix. The most common causes of an incompetent cervix are: 1) Cervical trauma from previous child birth resulting in a torn cervix. 2) Cone Biopsy - a procedure similar to a colpo, except they remove a larger sample of the cervical tissue.
I contract through my whole pregnancy andthats what causes my cervix to shrink. Id take it easy until your appt and make surre u ask your doc how short it is. It could only be a bit short and maybe thats why they arent too concerned but i would ask. Try can tell u wht length its supposed to be at and what yours actually is. Mine was supposed to be between 3 and 3.5 and its 1.1 but so far no more shortening. Do what ut doc says and take it easy.
About halfway home the doc calls and says that he reviewed my u/s and I have placenta something or other, where the placenta is covering my cervix. He said I am not supposed to do anything but sit at home and watch tv. Has anyone ever had this? Are there risks to the baby?
or does it mean that my body is still able to flush out the material. I'm sorry if this causes distress to some people - having a miscarriage is an awful experience .... this was my first baby ... and i was so excited...now i have to deal with all this! Thanks Kindly for your response.
A threatened miscarriage is a condition that suggests a miscarriage might take place before the 20th week of pregnancy. Causes Some pregnant women have some vaginal bleeding, with or without abdominal cramps, during the first three months of pregnancy. When the symptoms indicate a miscarriage is possible, the condition is called a "threatened abortion." (This refers to a naturally occurring event, not medical abortions or surgical abortions.
He checked it, and it turns out I have a prolapsed uterus/cervix. My Cervix is at the opening of my vagina..he's sending an urgent request to a gynacologist for an appt. I'm really concerned..I don't know what degree of prolapse it is yet, as he didn't want to speculate. I just hope it won't require any surgical intervention. Also, I don't know, is it possible to carry a pregnancy after a prolapse?
When I let nature take its course with my last miscarriage I was around 11 weeks when it finally started. That was after an 8 or 9 week sono where they found no heartbeat. I bled very heavily and ended up going to the ER. It was not containable in a pad so they told me to go in. Some had gotten stuck in my cervix and that is why I kept bleeding. They gave me the choice of a d&c and I chose to wait it out. I bled for another week or two off and on.
I miscarried the first baby at home but some of the placenta got stuck in my cervix and I bled and was in a lot of pain for several days. Then I went in for an emergency D & E. It was traumatic because of the amount of blood and pain but mostly because I saw the baby. The second time around I had a missed miscarriage and I had to make a decision.
What causes a blighted ovum? A blighted ovum is the cause of about 50% of first trimester miscarriages and is usually the result of chromosomal problems.
The surgeon who preformed my leep incision had removed so much of my cervix that my cervix had closed up. The fluid in my uterus was my monthly menstral cycle. I had been bleeding into my uterus for over 23 months. I was previously told my reason for having no periods was because I had been on the depo injection and it could take a long time for it to come out of my system.
I never had HSG, but I dont think it is very bad(heard from my friend). They gently open the cervix and that is the only part that causes some pain, then they put saline water in the uterus while the doc look inside using a tiny camera. the only part that might be painful(which I suspect it will only hurt as much as period cramp) is the opening the cervix part. Good luck.
I'm wondering if it could be b/c she did pap smear and irritated the cervix. I have had no cramping whatsoever or back pain. My doc said sometime bleeding can be from ruptured capillaries on cervix after straining for bowel movement. I am worried, anyone had similar experiences?
I am a type 1 diabetic as well and had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy at fifteen weeks. They actually gave me medication to open my cervix in the hospital. I went through the labor pains and I sneezed it out. I didnt have to dilate all the way though. I still endef up going for a d&c because the placenta kept breaking into pieces...sorry for your loss. There is no loss like the loss of a child.
I've read that miscarriages after the heart begins beating are very rare -- around 5%. What are the causes for a miscarriage during this timeframe? This was her first pregnancy. Thank you.
Recurrent pregnancy loss can be attributed to many different causes. These causes include: genetic factors (e.g. abnormal fetal chromosomes, abnormal parental chromosomes); anatomic factors (e.g. structural abnormalities of the uterus such as scar tissue in the uterus, or congenital abnormalities of the uterus such as septate uterus); metabolic factors (e.g. diabetes); endocrine factors (e.g. abnormal thyroid, PCOS, diminished ovarian reserve); infectious factors (e.g.
However during some of my periods, sometimes I would have some blood clots that come out as well as a flow. Almost like it clots at the cervix which then causes a build up of blood and eventually it gets pushed out....if that makes any sense. Another thing is, my husband brought a wine and cheese platter for us to try on the 5th, so I had a couple glasses of wine then. If it was a miscarriage, would that have something to do with it?
I don't have any answers for you or experiences to share, I just wanted to tell you that I'm extremely sorry for your loss. I may be experiencing a miscarriage right now and I can't even imagine being 16wks along and going through what you've gone through. God bless.
The pink discharge could have been anything. Some women(myself included) have a sensitive cervix, so anything like sex or pelvic exams would cause me to spot for a few days. As always, if you are concerned, put a call into your OB. Good luck!
hello again. Been doing tons of reading since my miscarriage. I have had two in two months (one really early and one at 4 1/2 weeks. My progesterone levels were good, but was told by several people that I might want to try to use some next time even though the levels were okay at the time of testing. Do the levels fluctuate during pregnancy? Can they be normal at one time (when i was tested) and low at another? What if your levels are fine and you use some to be on the safe side?
I started to experience bleeding & cramps at 8/9 weeks which got heavier. I was sent for a scan which showed a healthy uterus and a fetus the size of a 3 weeks old baby, i was asked to return one week later for a further scan to compare against the this. This scan showed no change and i was told it was an "inevitable miscarriage". With christmas approaching i chose to have a D & C (dilatation and curettage).
She decided to tell me that since I had three weeks left, and it related so well to me, a story about her friend that also had three weeks left and the placenta detached itself and caused the baby to die. It almost caused the mother to die also. What causes this?? Can it be prevented?? How would you know it had happened other than the baby wouldn't move anymore. My dad, when he was born, was born dead and they said that is what happened to my grandmother but could that be true??
said that can be due to prolaps cervix. I am suprised to see how many of your are experiencing the same thing. At first i was thinking it could be caused from the excess stress I have had lately, but sounds like there are several reasons why it happening. I am one of those people that assume the worst when something doesnt go the way I think it should. I am making an apt. with my OB and I will be sure to post my results..
Is it possible for HCG to go down and then up again? Cervix has not dialated so no miscarriage yet. I am waiting for levels to go up enough for them to see something on ultrasound. It's driving me crazy waiting because I don't want a tube to burst in the meantime if it is ectopic (though I have none of the risk factors for that and had just had my tubes checked the same month I got pregnant and they were normal).
Anyway, last night my husband and I gave in to having oral sex b/c I was avoiding all sex recently worrying about having another miscarriage this early on. We read that sex cannot cause a miscarriage, and we purposely avoided intercourse as thinking it's more invasive to a pregnancy, but I am bleeding now. Has anyone experienced this before and/or was told even oral sex can cause miscarriage early on in a pregnancy? Sad and confused.
You need to be treated before going on CLomid as CLomid causes a higher risk of miscarriage and 2 of my losses were Clomid babies. If you are seeing an OB, LEAVE and RUN!!! They misdiagnosed me 3 times and said they were specialisats. No OB is a specialist in infertility and reoccurring loss...and RE = Reproductive Endocrinologist is what you want. If you are seeing one now and they have not put you on meds...get another fast.MTHFR factor and PCOS are nothing to play with.
Because I wasn't sure if it's my period come early, implantation bleeding or a sign of miscarriage, I spoke to NHS Direct last night and was told to go to the hospital where they did a pregnancy test which was negative. I know a test stays positive up to three weeks after a miscarriage but am confused as to why she took it last night when I'm not due on my period till next week????
