Miscarriage bleeding progesterone

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage bleeding progesterone

miscarriage

I am sure that your doctor knows best and there was a specific reason he/she told you to stop the progesterone. My RE put me on progesterone after my second miscarriage and I still lost it. My understanding is, if it is one of those random abnormalities, then no amount of medicine or treatment will stop the miscarriage. Perhaps that was the case with you. Not that it makes you feel any better. But maybe knowing that it was inevitable will help you move on and continue with your plans.
I'm 37 y/o and 6 weeks pregant. I just found out my progesterone level is 7 so my doctor put me on 200mg of Prometrium. What I want to know is if they found this out too late. Is there still hope that my levels can go up and my pregnancy can be saved? I've already had 3 miscarriages in the past.
The problem, though, is that it's hard to tell whether the miscarriage was caused by low progesterone, or whether the REASON the progesterone was low was because it wasn't a viable pregnancy to begin with. However, from what I've heard there's no harm in taking additional progesterone, and that's why most doctors will prescribe supplements if the levels are low...just in case.
I hope someone can help me out with this question. I am about two weeks away from actively trying to conceive again after having a d&c for a miscarriage in early November. I am very active with exercise. I run every other day, and I lift weights 3 times a week. I know that exercising does decrease your progesterone. However, I am wondering if any of you know this: should I lower the intensity of my working out while trying to conceive.
After about nine to 10 weeks the placenta should be producing enough progesterone to support the pregnancy. Low level of progesterone that causes miscarriage is usually thought to be from inadequate production from the corpus luteum. Progesterone medication is safe and relatively inexpensive, but studies proving its effectiveness have not been conclusive.
Could I bleed if I had a miscarriage even with the progesterone suppositories? Or do you think I may have had a miscarriage and I'm not bleeding because the progesterone is preventing me from bleeding?
Pregnant and went in for early progesterone test at 5wks, no bleeding. progesterone level 6 now taking inserts. Has anyone gone on to have a healthy baby incase such as this?
Anyway, miscarriage never crossed my mind. With the bleeding stopped, I thought I was out of the woods. At the next ultrasound, the baby had made two weeks growth, which I was watching for, but then there was no heartbeat. I was devastated. I know it is common for women, but I just couldn't believe it. Meanwhile the clock is ticking on my age. I had D&C and waited two months. I immediately got pregnant again and symptoms were present and it seemed even better than the last time.
last time I did take it and had a miscarriage. All three tries I was on prgesterone. This time was true progesterone powder suppositoies (not prometrium) and after bleeding projesterone injections too.
didn't think it was too low (17) at 4 weeks, but she gave me the suppositories anyway....I still had bleeding at 9 week and my progesterone was only 12....so she upped the dosage... I had a baby girl in August. Progesterone WORKS!!!! I"m so sorry about your loses....find a dr. who will give you progesterone.
Hi, I don't believe progesterone stops a miscarriage happening. It is there to help sustain a healthy pregnancy. I also take progesterone when pregnant (200mg 2x daily) and this is what the consultant at the hospital led us to believe.
My doctor put me on progesterone - I'm still spotting. If I'm not having another miscarriage, when should I expect to stop the bleeding? I only bleed for less than an hour a day. I know this could be normal - but I'm clueless. I will be going back to the doctor on Monday - so no need to worry until then. I'm just looking for answers and/or comments from others in a similar situation.
However, factors like low progesterone levels and certain types of bleeding disorders can cause early miscarriages and are treatable. You should talk to your doctor about testing if they have not already done so. Wishing you the best!
30% of pregnancies end in miscarriage (most go undetected by woman as she believes it is her period). Low progesterone is also an issue in miscarriage. Progesterone is needed to sustain a pregnancy. If you have low prog., your doc can put you on medication to help you so that you can conceive. You'll have to take the meds throughout the pregnancy to sustain it as well. It's not a pleasant experience but it'll be worth it in the end. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
My first was terminated 2 yrs ago and most recently i had a miscarriage. I was referred to a specialist by my doctor because my progesterone levels had dropped. The specialist emailed me a copy of her report that was given to my doctor. I am having trouble understanding some things. "IMPRESSION: 6-week-2-day plus/minus 5-day intrauterine embryonic demise." Does this mean I was at least 6 weeks and 2 days and miscarriage happened 5 days before?
Some spotting or light bleeding is normal, as strange as it can sounds.I found this on the web, hope it helps you...........Bleeding or "spotting" during pregnancy happens more often than you might think, with up to 25 percent of all pregnant women experiencing it. Spotting –- bleeding that isn't continuous and isn't enough to fill a tampon or pad -- is especially common in the first three months.
I am 30 weeks at the end of this week with a baby boy. The put me on progesterone suplements for a couple weeks and the bleeding stopped.

Symptoms come and go... its a common thing in pregnancy. Try not to stress yourself out that isn't going to help. If your not bleeding you have less cause to worry. How long until your scan date? Hopefully you'll get some good news on that date.
hi, i took a blood pregnancy test on December 20th and my hcg levels were at 57 which the doctor said was low for three weeks. I had been experiencing some bleeding, with no cramps and no clots. He told me that I may be having a miscarriage. He told me to get another blood test on Wednesday. I did this and the test came back that I was pregnant.
I'm still bleeding but the cramps aren't as bad. I also had a very bad headache sunday and monday.
How many of you have had a miscarriage, how far along were you? What symptoms did you have?

It looks like I will soon be leaving the forum, I woke up this morning bleeding, I am just under 10 weeks, all my breast soreness and sickness have suddently gone and I have been passing small clots with the blood. I have had 4 miscarriages over the years do I know the signs and feelings. I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow but I dont think it will be good news.
I know I'm supposed to be on this stuff to stop bleeding but my sister and sister-in-law were both given progesterone to start their cycles up after they had their babies. How can it do both-start a period and keep it at bay? So confusing!
I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks at first i started to spot and had cramps then i went to the doctors which he informed me my cervixs were still open and i was going to have a miscarriage later that night the bleeding got heavier with blood clots and around 3 o'clock in the morning i pass the tissue which was the baby so i took it to my scan the next morning which they confirmed it was the baby.
( don't know the exact number, he just said I was preg.) Yesterday I started bleeding AGAIN... somewhat similar to my last miscarriage, the doc said that it could be from implantation, or the start of another miscarriage. Has anyone had anything similar to this? I am a nervous wreck, This is my second pregnancy, as I said my first ended in miscarriage and I am so worried this one is on its way to end the same way. Help!!
First u/s 4/5 only yolk sac but decent levels on progesterone and HGC. Doc put me on progesterone supplements. Second u/s vaginal 4/11 only yolk sac and better levels. Third u/s vaginal 4/18 same results better levels. This is driving me nuts. Next vaginal u/s 4/25. If no fetal pole doc may recommend d&c. Part of me wants to wait two weeks! Either I have ovulated in late March or my body hasn't realized I m/c.
Apparently I lost it around 8 weeks but it is what is called a missed miscarriage and didn't pass on its own. I had a d&c at the 10th week. It was very well done with virtually no bleeding even on the same day. I also was told to wait a couple of months. Not only that, much to my husbands' dismay, I was put on pelvic rest for two weeks. We are kind of a twice a day couple, so needless to say the two week thing didn't work out for us. But, all was well.
