1469955 tn?1291071870 Hello, I am new to this site and was wondering does anyone know if the bleeding you experience is considered a period? Also does anyone know when you ovulate again if that is not considered the first period? I am TTC again and its difficult not know when all this is supposed to happen? My doc gave me the go ahead but didn't give me details. Thank for any help you can give me.
5254452 tn?1365626751 Usually bleeding after miscarriage does not last for more than two weeks. After the bleeding stops in 10 to 15 days the miscarriage is considered complete. In few situations the bleeding may last long. An incomplete miscarriage or presence of pregnancy tissues which may be left in the uterus may be few possibilities. If the symptoms are severe and persistent a clinical examination may be necessary. You may need treatment based on the clinical examination findings. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Today I started bleeding how I would a normal period. I am 6 weeks now. Should I be worried or is this normal?
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks at first i started to spot and had cramps then i went to the doctors which he informed me my cervixs were still open and i was going to have a miscarriage later that night the bleeding got heavier with blood clots and around 3 o'clock in the morning i pass the tissue which was the baby so i took it to my scan the next morning which they confirmed it was the baby.
Avatar f tn hi annie thanks for sharing. i had blood test done today and my hcg has dropped from 2190 to 1400.and early this morning i have very bad cramp near lower abdomen for about 5—10mins. talked to nurse. she said i should expect period anytime otherwise i will have to go back and speak to dr about it. and she did mention too that the cramping this morning is probably a good sign. i will have to continue blood test everyweek to make sure hcg level is coming down to zero. sad to say.....
Avatar f tn bleeding in early pregnancy is considered to be implantation bleeding and it is lighter than ur normal period .But that could be early miscarriage alo coz u mentioned u are cramping hard with bleeding.i will recommend to see Doctor.Early miscarriage is common and generally happens due to chromosomal abnormalities. But my advise to meet Doc to confirm.
Avatar f tn hi there, i also had a miscarriage last year, my doctor told me that i could start trying as soon as the bleeding stopped since i didn't need a d&c, but if you had one of those done you should at least wait 2 or 3 months.
1845665 tn?1318949368 Women can have bleeding while pregnant, and it not be caused from a miscarriage. However, it is impossible to menstruate while pregnant. If an ovum is not fertilized, the hormone levels drop and signal the body to shed the uterine lining. If uterine lining is shed during pregnancy, it will cause a miscarriage. This is why women with low progesterone or other hormonal problems have difficulty conceiving or have habitual miscarriages. I personally bled nearly the whole first trimester.
Avatar f tn is it possible that the period I had was implantation bleeding. Because the period after my miscarriage was normal. is it possible to ovulate 2 days after a period?
Avatar f tn Stacy, I love you to bits, but have to disagree..sorry hon. According to my Dr, miscarriage bleeding is not considered a cycle. This is because it is not actual shedding of lining, but passing the products of conception. So it is your next bleed that would be considered your first menstrual cycle. As to when, it differs for everyone. I have had it as early as 3 weeks later, and as late as 5. I'm sorry for your loss, and wish you peace and healing.
Avatar f tn I would go to the emergency room sweetie it very well could have been a miscarriage and the above poster is right...
Avatar f tn s very heavy to the point I am soaking through pads within 30 mins to 1 hour. My period usually lasts for 5 days and the bleeding completely stops on the last day but today marks my 5th day and the bleeding is still going and heavy. Is this something normal or do I have to see a doctor? This is all new to me because this would've been my first child.
Avatar n tn i also had some help with pitossin to slow down my bleeding because i was bleeding to death from my miscarriage (long story) but i have heard it can take awhile got my period exact 36 days after my D&E (similiar to D&C) doctors say to expect your first cycle between 6-8 weeks after a miscarriage....
Avatar f tn Cramps are normal. Discharge is normal. If you have lots of bleeding, like as much as a heavy period, then you can worry.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry for your loss, I know how hard it can be waiting for everything to be normal! No it's not considered a normal period. I had the same thing happen to me (but it was about a week and half instead). I actually didn't know it was my period until I talked to the dr several weeks later. You'll be normal when your about as long as you normally are. I actually ovulated less than half a week after my "period" ended, and had a very normal cycle.
Avatar f tn i recently had a miscarriage but did not stop bleeding for the next three weeks after that. i went to see a doctor, had a scan and was prescribed some medication. about a week after i took the meds, the bleeding stopped. its been 2months now but yesterday while i was at work started bleeding heavily but i had no sign of a period coming, the blood was thick, red unlike menstrual blood. it was so heavy it even ran down into my shoes. it has since stopped but i am getting worried.
Avatar f tn I have to disagree a bit (sorry queenspade, no disrespect intended). Miscarriage bleeding is typically not considered part of a normal cycle. The first day of your next regular period would be considered cycle day 1. You may however find that, as queenspade said, it takes time for things to regulate and become normal. All the best to you, and I'm sorry for your loss.
Avatar f tn Its impossible to have period while pregnant however some women will argue that they had a period during pregnancy because of disidual bleeding (spelled wrong) dysfunctional bleeding the way the midwife explained it it is basically implantation bleeding, the body getting rid of the old blood, or even the body tricking itself to have period like bleeding. But essentially to have a period you have to shed the lining of the uterus and if your pregnant you can do that.
Avatar n tn Is the bleeding a bright red colour or is it similar to what a period would look like? Usually cramping and bleeding are a sign of a miscarriage, but not always.
Avatar f tn With my first pregnancy with my son, my period stopped completely. Now, if my cramping and version serves me correctly, lol, I am indeed having a period! It's not a miscarriage, because I'm sure it would be a lot more painful, plus I missed my period last month which is when I got 6 positive HPTs 3 days after it was suppose to come on. Also, we were TTC.
1825644 tn?1317737828 Usually this is considered a chemical pregnancy and if you bleed this is considered a period. I am so sorry for your loss!
Avatar f tn Hey, sorry for ur loss. After my natural miscarriage i stayed more than 2 months bleeding and seeing some tissue from time to time. This is very normal, the expected time to get your period after natural miscarriage can be up to 3 months and be considered as normal. Give ur body a time to heal and try to be relaxed...
1398485 tn?1280558724 I had 3 days of dark brown/pink spotting thinking I was starting my period, then it stopped and a few days later I had a positive HPT. You could be experiencing implantation bleeding. Even a faint line on an HPT is considered a positive result, may be faint if it's very early in pregnancy. Wait a few days, if you don't get bright red bleeding or if the spotting you have stops, take another test.
