Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage bleeding considered period

miscarriage

Hello, I am new to this site and was wondering does anyone know if the bleeding you experience is considered a period? Also does anyone know when you ovulate again if that is not considered the first period? I am TTC again and its difficult not know when all this is supposed to happen? My doc gave me the go ahead but didn't give me details. Thank for any help you can give me.
hi annie thanks for sharing. i had blood test done today and my hcg has dropped from 2190 to 1400.and early this morning i have very bad cramp near lower abdomen for about 5—10mins. talked to nurse. she said i should expect period anytime otherwise i will have to go back and speak to dr about it. and she did mention too that the cramping this morning is probably a good sign. i will have to continue blood test everyweek to make sure hcg level is coming down to zero. sad to say.....
I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks at first i started to spot and had cramps then i went to the doctors which he informed me my cervixs were still open and i was going to have a miscarriage later that night the bleeding got heavier with blood clots and around 3 o'clock in the morning i pass the tissue which was the baby so i took it to my scan the next morning which they confirmed it was the baby.
My last period started on October 18th, 2007. I started taking pregnancy tests on Wed Nov 14th and have taken 11 tests since. All of the tests were positive. This morning Nov 18th, 2007 I took another test and realized that I was spotting. I then took 3 more tests which then showed up negative. Do you think I am having a miscarriage?
That's when I had my miscarriage y me though??
I had had some bron staining in decemeber but the 1st day off my last period was 26th Novemeber. I booked an appointment with my local midwife and she tried to hear a heart beat but she could when i went to the hospital for an enternal scan they measured the baby at 3.6mm but still couldn't hear or see a heart beat. I then was told to come back a week later and they informed me there has been no growth and now i have been given the options off what to do for the miscarriage.
Have you considered going to a gynecologist and telling them about the two previous miscarriages. They would probably recommend a D&C they would all so do a pap smear some thing I'm sure you need.Make an appointment and see a gynecologist and get this taken care of.Are you having heavy periods with hard cramps? If you are or even if your not you still need to go.Take Care TNT406.
Since my initial u/s at 4 weeks, I had not seen any bleeding. The tech told me that miscarriage is considered if fetal pole is 5cm or greater w/o h/b. I am so scared and had bouts of anticipation grief as I tell try to convince myself that this pregnancy may not be viable; yet, a small part of me wants to be strong and say that there is a chance. Has anyone out there experienced similar situation? Should I just give up and not kid myself into believing that this pregnancy will last?
I had my right tube removed on Tuesday 13th I started bleeding on thurs 15th is that af o is that just bleeding from loosing my tube and pregnancy? It was pretty heavy like with my period lasted 4 days, and if it was af when would I ov?
How much bleeding is enough to be considered a miscarraige? And Is is possible for your HCG levels to drop just by a bit and it still be considered a miscarriage? Anyone have a similiar episode and still have some success?
unfortunately it can be either, although bleeding in pregnancy is never considered normal, but it is quite common and there is no real way to know what will happen next unless you go to your doctor and have your hcg levels checked.
My Q is- Is this considered a period or not? Is this normal? What could be causing me to start spotting about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks after the miscarriage officially ended, other than that the miscarriage is not complete? (I don't think this is the case) Should I see my doctor, or wait it out a little more? Thanks for any advice or answers. I'm feeling really frustrated. I just want all this to end so I can move on!
It first started off really light and now it's very heavy to the point I am soaking through pads within 30 mins to 1 hour. My period usually lasts for 5 days and the bleeding completely stops on the last day but today marks my 5th day and the bleeding is still going and heavy. Is this something normal or do I have to see a doctor? This is all new to me because this would've been my first child.
Did your cramping last for days, how heavy what consistancy was your bleeding, how did you feel?? my bleeding right now is red, but a tad lighter than a normal period, cramping only yesterday, not constant. no clot any bigger then a lowercase (o). Please be graphic. :-) Thank you!! Also, i was only about 4 weeks 5 days pregnant. PS i am feeling MUCH better physically and mentally than yesterday.
If you get pregnant before your next period, they won't count the miscarriage as a period. It's just harder to tell how far along you are until an ultrasound. Good luck and I am sorry for your loss.
I sure hope it is my period... I wouldn't know why I would stop bleeding from the miscarriage for two weeks and then start bleeding again. Everything has been normal in this miscarriage. There was nothing still inside me during an ultrasound on July 26th.
I had a miscarriage two weeks ago Saturday and I'm still bleeding. It had stopped for a few days but it has started up again. I called the OGYN and she said not to worry this i s normal. Has this happened to anyone else? I was only 5 weeks along when I miscarried and I had ultrasound and exam the following Thursday about a week ago everything had passes per the doc. Why am I still bleeding red blood?????? Not all day but every day.
Hi! Pregnancy followed by miscarriage is a possibility. Until D and C is done, miscarriage that was not complete will continue to cause bleeding. This you can confirm by taking a pregnancy test since the test remains positive for a month after miscarriage (if you do blood HCG estimation, it will show a decreasing HCG trend at 48 hours interval).
How much bleeding is enough to be considered a miscarraige? And Is is possible for your HCG levels to drop just by a bit and it still be considered a miscarriage? Anyone have a similiar episode and still have some success? Going to see DR today!
Unless accompanied by cramping, backache or increased bleeding, a small amount of blood being discharged should be considered as implantation bleeding which is nothing to be concerned about. If this is implantation bleeding, when can I test to see if I am pregnant? Home pregnancy tests are based on a very simple principle. They work by through the detection of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in a woman's urine.
I started bleeding real lightly 4 weeks ago. I thought it was a period. I have always been really irregular, having my period once every 4-5 months. I went to the doctor Friday and they told me I was pregnant. It was either early stage or I was having a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage.I don't know when, and the doctor said it could have been any time in the last few weeks. However, I am still bleeding as bad as, if not worse than before.
3 over a two day span about 4 days before my missed period. Negative. And another one again just two days ago, one week after missed period. Negative. Because I just didn't "feel right", I didn't trust the negative results. And when reading up online, I saw that impending miscarriages or ectopic pregnancies can sometimes produce negative results on home pregnancy tests. I mean, is a 38 day cycle normal? That one-sided pain? The blood is red, but like a darker color. THOUGHTS??
He also told me to wait until my first period before trying to conceive again. I too have had period like symptoms, but no bleeding yet. Hopefully I start my period soon. Hope this helps and sorry for your loss.
If you start bleeding 7 days after the miscarriage, it could be a period where you didn't ovulate, but not a normal cycle as it needs to follow your normal pattern.
Hi, I'm now into my 4th week of bleeding after my natural miscarriage on Sept. 30th. My HCG levels are taking a really long time to go down. They are now at 55. All along, I haven't really had much pain. Last night the pain began, cramping in my abdomen and down my left leg. I was considered for an ectopic pregnancy but the Dr. thinks my levels are too low for it to still be ectopic. Has anyone ever heard of an ectopic happening with HCG levels being this low?
My period was like a normal period. Spotting, heavy bleeding, light and then spotting. After my miscarriage to did bleed heavy for a week, light for the next and spotted on the third week. 6. Additional information that seems important I had no cramps during my miscarriage. My back was uncomfortable but no pain that would signify a miscarriage. I did a hpt 3 weeks after my miscarriage and it was negative. 4 weeks after my miscarriage my hcg levels were 5.
She checked me and said there was no bleeding and my cervix was closed (which was a good sign), but if I began having cramps or heavier bleeding I needed to go to ER. 1/5/12 I noticed some more bright red when I wiped and told my boyfriend I wanted to go to ER to make sure things were ok. We went and the Dr. did another vaginal check, swabbed me and said there was some bleeding but not a lot. Tried to do an ultrasound but nothing was detected, so I was sent for a transvaginal ultrasound.
I'm sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in sept a natural one also. I bleed for 5 days. I began ttc right away. I would say go for it but check with your dr first if spotting for that long is normal. I would make sure your body expelled the baby so you don't end up with a infection. Hafve you had your blood checked to see if your levels went back to zero? Good luck to you and lots of baby dust!
