In a missed miscarriage, either the embryo doesn’t develop, or it doesn’t get very far and the heartbeat stops. Occasionally it happens beyond the first few weeks, perhaps at eight weeks or 10 weeks, or even further on.
If your sonographer thinks you have a missed miscarriage based on your ultrasound, she'll need to confirm with another scan. This means she'll either examine you again in a week's time, or get another sonographer to confirm the diagnosis with a vaginal scan.
Did they do a hcg blood pregnancy test? Doing one and then a 2nd one 48 hrs later is the best way to know. The hcg numbers should double in 48 hrs. If they are dropping, that usually means a miscarriage. You could request that so that you don't have to wait a full week to find out what it going on.
I had bleeding my last 3 pregnancies and unfortunately they didn't end well. The 2nd one the bleeding did stop and then start again.

Sometimes there are absolutely no symptoms. My sister in law went at ten weeks for a sono and they couldn't hear a heartbeat. She had miscarried at eight weeks and had no symptoms whatsoever.

I'm sure your fine. You uterus is still behind your pelvic bone and doesn't start to rise up untill about 12 weeks. I'm 14 weeks and I still don't have a bump.
The doctor says he is healthy in there. I have just recently been able to refer to myself as mommy and actually talk to my lil one. His daddy talks to him all of the time. I had a miscarriage last year they told me the baby was 8 weeks at my doctor but when I went to the hospital they said I was barley 6 weeks. But any ways they gave me an early ultrasound this time bc of that and would not give it to me until I was eight weeks bc the chances of seeing the baby were very slim. Hi everyone. Unfortunately, last month I have a miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant. It would have been my first pregnancy/child. I'm eight weeks and 3 days, had an ultrasound 4 days ago and she said she couldn't see anything, but for whatever reason I was not allowed to see the screen. My first pregnancy was the same and ended up being a miscarriage. I am so worried about another miscarriage. Anyone not see the baby at 8 weeks, but still have an healthy baby?
I went through two IVF cycles with the second one being successful. We transferred two eight cell eggs on day three. When I went in for my twelve week checkup I found out that the baby stopped growing at nine weeks three days. I am 29, active, healthy, don't drink or smoke and there was no answer for my fertility issues. We were able to retrieve 25 eggs in the second cycle. we now have nine frozen.
