miscarriage

Avatar f tn I had two miscarriages last year and got pregnant on my 40th bday...happy 40th to me! We had been trying but not this last time because of the miscarriages.. Anyway, I've had an ultrasound..everything is good..felt baby move since 13 weeks pregnant..I'm still nervous about having a miscarriage.. I know I shouldn't worry..has anyone my age feel baby move and still have a miscarriage?
Avatar f tn Obviously my numbers at the age of 42 were a lot worse than your numbers. At age 40, your odds are a lot better. It only takes one good egg to have a normal healthy baby - so NO, NOT all your eggs are bad.
Avatar f tn Progesterone simply helps elevate your levels, and miscarriage caused my low progesterone is not the same thing as miscarriage caused by a chromosonal abnormality. The fact that your 40 is really not a big issue. I am 39, and hoping to bring our first child into the world still. We are actively trying to conceive. None of the Dr.'s I have seen have had any concern about this whatsoever.
Avatar m tn Hello there. Pregnancy over 40 always comes with these sorts of questions. First off, she is not too old. If her cycles are still regular, she can conceive. There are many of here who have done this successfully. Primarily the increased risk involved an increased chance of miscarriage due to the fact that our eggs are older, increasing risk of chromosonal abnormality. Now, it is not necessarily a huge risk, but it does happen a bit more frequently.
Avatar f tn At age 40 with FSH of 14, being more aggressive with fertility treatment is reasonable such as injectables (gonadotropins) with IUI or IVFor IVF/Egg donation. I would not do too many cycles with Clomid/IUI before moving on to more aggressive options. I wish you success.
808898 tn?1241544940 Although anything can happen at anytime for a 42yr old or a 22yr old, try not to worry about miscarriage. There are risks at being over 40 and having a baby, but as Lisa and Tricia said keeping a positive attitude and know that there are many success stories that account for women over 40 having healthy babies and carrying to term. You will have the option of having prenatal testing throughout your pregnancy to monitor the development of your child if you so choose.
Avatar m tn Hi there, do you think masturbation at age 40 weakens a man's immune system? wife is pregnant and i need to relive these blueballs... So i masturbate 2-3 times a week... Sometimes it goes like daily.. But if it happens 3 days in a row i feel somewhat weak the other day, and sometimes cold sores blowout... Do you think i am damaging my immune system? Do you think i need professional help haha? ;p Regards and thanks in advance to all!
Avatar f tn I am sure the answer is yes, I would say yes myself except my healthy baby that I delivered (at a later age than that) was from a donor egg, and I was thinking you are asking about risks of Downs and such. IF you are asking about the capacity of the uterus, no problems there, you can do it, especially if you have had a child before. Good luck! May everything be uneventful!
Avatar f tn I'm 44 and 9 weeks pregnant. I have never miscarried but know at my age the risk is doubled. Has any one miscarried at my age and if so when. Wortied.
Avatar f tn I'm a 40 year old mother of 2 childern. With one miscarriage in between. I found out I was pregnant and at 12 weeks miscarried . My youngest child is 9 and oldest is 21. I delivered the baby and sac completely in tact. The doctors examined the baby visually and didn't see anything visually wrong with the baby. Before I delivered the baby the placenta was delivered first.
Avatar m tn From age 40 to 44, the rate of miscarriage is 34 per cent, and it rises to 53 per cent for women 45 and older (compared to 10 per cent at age 20 and 12 per cent at age 30). After age 40, the risk of pregnancy complications, such as high blood pressure and diabetes is twice as high as it is for a woman in her 20s. The odds of genetic problems also jump as you get older: at 40, your chance of having a child with Down's syndrome is one in 110; at 45 it's one in 30.
Avatar f tn I would like to add, that I have had two miscarriage at 43 years old, and my OB keep tell me dont stop trying He has had woman at 49 years old pregnant naturally with healthy babies of course its not common but its possible. I have visited 3 Infertility doctor that never help because of the age. It good that you go to infertility doctor but just believe yourself that you can have a golden egg too. Good luck.
Avatar f tn My pregnancies all went well (except for my miscarriage of twins at 15 1/2 weeks, at age 30, and that one went quite well...till it ended with my water breaking and delivering all within 20 minutes with no pain at all....). My labors were all under 8 hours, including a 10 pound 4 ouncer (my 16 year old) and all were delivered naturally, no pain meds, the smallest baby being 8 pounds 10 ounces, no gestational diabetes, I just grow 'em big.
776961 tn?1236544263 Hello anyone, I am 40 and suprise i'm pregnant. I feel so old and now I am worried about all the things i'm reading and how unsafe it is to be pregnant at this age. I have a 3 daughters, 21, 14, and 7...its like they're all 7 years apart....This time i don't even feel pregnant at all other than my breast hurting....im scared is that normal? i've all ready taken 8 pregnancy test! i know its crazy...please advise.
647397 tn?1307056615 My 2 Drs. told me in simple terms that at age 20, a woman has 9 good eggs out of 10. At age 40 it might be 5 good eggs out of 10. That's why the chance of miscarriage increases to 50% once a woman is in her early 40s. But if an older woman is in good shape then it is conceivable that she can concieve, especially if her cycles are regular. I've read statistics that state women over the age 40 are the fastest growing segment of unwanted pregnancies...
Avatar f tn I gave birth to him 4 weeks before my 40th birthday. Last year we tried to have another baby but I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and had to get a d & c. This year a few months ago I got pregnant again at age 42 and had another miscarriage at 9 weeks. My OB said it was just a chromosome problem and I had to have another d & c. I will be 43 yrs old aug.1st. I also gained 30 lbs since I had my son. I'm trying to lose weight now and taking vitamins everyday.

Avatar n tn After 40, one's chances are reduced. If you google "odds of pregnancy after 40," you can find the stats and the risks. See your doctor as well.
Avatar f tn I'm 40 and this is my 2nd had my 1st at 18 so this is like starting from scratch for me. Due June 16th!!!!
Avatar n tn I've just turned 40 and had a miscarriage last november and again 1 week ago. I'm scared of this happening again but I also believe we have to keep trying until we succeed. I'd love to hear success stories from women who have shared a similar experience as I need to stay positive and not give up.
262365 tn?1268508268 I was the one thinking I was too old and my doctor was the one who kept telling me that I was NOT too old. I had a miscarraige at age 36 and one at 24 and 3 healthy kids in between and after. You might want to find a dr. who is a little more positive and encouraging. I know the loss is awful and I had a D & C with my last miscarraige which is the icing on the cake. Take time to heal and then think about trying again.
