Avatar f tn I had the same problem. My doc also prescribed miralax. Im already swamped with other meds, so I decided to go natural to reduce the constipation. Try eating brown (wheat) instead of white and lots of green veggies (greens, spinach). It has done wonders for me.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to take miralax and to increase my water intake.
Avatar f tn The beginning of my pregnancy my OB said I could take miralax to help with constipation, but now that I am 37w4d is it safe to take? I don't want to take it if it's going to affect baby in any way.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had miralax?
408448 tn?1286883821 I have been having okay results since June with Miralax and Colace. A few weeks ago I began having what looks to be blood in the stool. I told my onc right away. She said do not worry. It is probably from a blood vessel bursting. Well, I tried not to worry, but it did not work! Could the Miralax be the trouble?
Avatar f tn I am 10wks preggo and was wondering if Miralax is safe to take for constipation during pregnancy....I am very constipated and have been drinking Metamucil 2 times a day without any effectiveness....my husband is a pharmacist and says that it is safe because it doesn't enter the bloodstream, but I do not want to take something unless I know that it is safe. I have seen where it is category c. Thanks for your help....
Avatar n tn Try Miralax its good.
Avatar n tn The stent was removed 5 days ago and he has since had kidney pain. He is on pain medication to deal with the severe pain. Last night we once again ended up in the Emerency Room. The urinalysis and blood work showed no infection or abnormality. He also had an ultrasound and the kidney has decreased in size. So, with no infection present and kidney function is actually improving, what could be causing the severe pain?
Avatar f tn About 10 minutes after waking up this morning, I got severe pain in my right lower abdomen. I did some googling and it all pointed to appendicitis or kidney stones. After 3 hours of endouring the pain I went to our local small town Urgent Care. They did blood and urine labs which all came back normal. They did a abdominal CT scan because they don't have a ultra sound machine. The only thing they said and showed me was solid white spots in my stool.
506791 tn?1439842983 Mild hyperthyroid (so we will restart the thyroid cream), 2 main liver numbers (1 a tick high, the other normal), 2 main kidney numbers (1 a tick high, the other normal) so no liver or kidney medicine right now and her blood counts looked good. Doc agrees with giving Teia the help that she will accept. Teia has had a good appetite today. Only 32 days until her 21st birthday.
996946 tn?1503249112 Had every diagnosis from Hip Sarcoma to kidney failure. Simple lab test from our 3rd vet dismissed those possibilities. He had a fall last June, complete xrays. The vet then proceeded to give him 3 enemas thinking blockage. I was out of town during all of this in Alaska and my husband was caring for Aramis. The enemas may have helped a little and we proceeded with Laculose and finally Miralax. Neither has proved very beneficial.
Avatar m tn I had an ultrasound that showed my biliary system to be squeaky clean. They even checked my right kidney, which was normal, as well. I did; however, have a lot of gas on the ultrasound. My doctor told me to try simethicone and to cut back on fiber. I am trying to do both but really don't notice much change. I have recently lost 43 pounds but I still have some skin folds to my abdomen.
Avatar f tn The fact that it is on both sides though makes me wonder more about an infection than kidney stones as usually kidney stones are one sided (unless you are very unlucky). Though if the pain subsided quickly in a day or so this sounds more stones than infection.
Avatar f tn he told me that I could use miralax and gatorade and it would be fine..I mean really I got the bathroom anywhere from 2 to 7 times a day, the prep is all I need to push me over the top...so I am hoping that I will be able to tolerate the prep and the colonoscopy will go fine. A couple of other things, I do take things over the counter to attempt to slow down this condition..
Avatar n tn This is on top of a strong oral medication (Amitiza) and magnesium. With Miralax, I get the stuff in the bottle and take 1 1/2 capfuls once a day and as needed.
Avatar f tn I feel the same way! My Dr said it was 100% fine to take Miralax and stool softeners! I had to take the miralax every other day for about a week to get things going....and get passed the hemroids! If u know what i mean...
Avatar f tn I am having crazy pain under my kidneys as well and have been having a lot of kidney and bladder infections. I was regulary, I just want to be able to have a regular bowel movement so bad and feel not so tired. Help?
Avatar f tn I have taken her to the doctors and her CBC was perfect and all other blood work they did good, no UTI, not anemic, liver and kidney function good. She had an abdominal xray done and showed she was backed up and they started her on Miralac every day. She has been pooping the whole time. She is playing like normal just everyonce in awhile she'll stop and sy her belly hurts or her head hurts. I'm concerned it is something else. can anyone help?
Avatar n tn I take Miralax and have Gastroparesis. I can't have a BM without the Miralax!!!! It has truly been a God sent to me! I have a spastic colon and, well needless to say the Miralax is the best tasting, no side effect product out there!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!! My daughter who is 12 (almost 13) takes it occasionally (only a half cap full) when she's stopped up. I've tried just about every other "helper" out there on the market and Miralax is by far the best!
172023 tn?1334672284 Right now I take Colace twice a day, and senna tablets once a day, and try to get in Miralax once a day (but have a hard time remembering that one). Of course the obligatory fruits and veggies, dried prunes, water, etc. Its mostly that I don't get the exercise I used to. Ok--what's your remedies?
1560663 tn?1298046527 Our new vet was young and fresh out of vet school and recommended Miralax. I add about 1/4 tsp to some tuna, tuna juice or a couple tablespoons of wet food once a day. It gives him some loose stinky stools but it is so simple and it works. He also has some pretty bad gas. Toonces is alive and doing pretty darn well for over a year now without being evacuated even once. We may not have even had to have the surgery had we known about this.
Avatar n tn Also, if you have to wait a long, long time to see the doc, begin to reduce the Miralax by very small amounts, every other day.
Avatar f tn it seems to affect my equilibrium. I do have my kidney function and mag level checked every year and they are normal. I have an annusal physical exam and it is normal as well. I want to get off of magnesium or try and take less of it. . I try and not take magnesium 2-3 x per week and on those days I don't take it, I go very little.
Avatar f tn This time it was 3 weeks with nothing coming out so i took miralax for a couple days and then had a lot of diarreha so i stopped the miralax and 2 days layer every morning i wld go to the bathroom but it wld be long very thin or flat ribbon like. I still feel bloated and uncomfortable. Im so scared about the ribbon stool because everything online says cancer or blockage. Im a 38 yr old female. Also i started the miralax again last night but havent went to the bathroom yet.
Avatar f tn I have done that, you will be fine probably! Miralax really doesn't have much of a taste. Just get a gatorade color you can tolerate. Good luck on your surgery!
Avatar n tn Miralax only gets absorbed in your bowels. It helps by pulling the water into your bowels to help you go and give you softer poop. It doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream so it won't harm the baby. Class C only means there hasn't been any studies showing there is side effects that will harm the fetus. Doctors prescribe it and suggest it because it is a non-stimulant if taken at the correct dosage.
